Chapter 1241: Final battle with demons (1)
"Are you ready for this?"
I turned around and looked at the others that were following behind me.
When they saw me looking at them, all of them revealed firm looks on their faces and nodded in agreement.
We had already gone through the plan several times, so it would be strange if they still didn't know what they had to do. The only thing that I was really worried about was that they might panic now that the battle was here.
But it seemed that this wasn't the case.
These were soldiers that had followed me through many different battles, so they had been trained to expect the unexpected.
Otherwise, they certainly would be panicking in this situation.
After all, a racial war between the humans and the demons was certainly not something that they expected. This was something that no one would have expected to happen, but here it
was.
So the only thing that they could do was face it.
It was just a good thing that they adapted to shocking things thanks to me.
Or was it a curse...?
Either way, it was too late to think too much about it.
Since they all seemed ready, I gave another nod and said, "Remember, this isn't just any battle. This is a battle to protect not just the human race, but our homes. After all, if the demons defeat the human race today, then there's no way that they'll let our homes off."
In a heavier voice, I said, "If we don't stop them now, it'll only be a matter of them before they reach our kingdom and our loved ones. So we will stop them here."
Klein was the representative for the others as he said, "Your majesty, we all know what is at stake. There's no need for you to tell us this."
I looked at him and the rest before slowly giving a firm nod.
Then I said, "Let's go then."
Turning around and giving a wave of my hand, the wyvern army behind me suddenly started to dive.
The moment that we dived out of the clouds, there were bright lights that appeared.
These came from the backs of the wyverns where there were different undead monsters riding.
The light came from the elemental energy that was being gathered by these undead monsters and when we came close enough, they were released as spells on the demons below.
When these spells fell down, the demons were completely caught off guard since they never expected to be hit with these spells all of sudden.
There were some that fell, but it seemed that most of them were imbued with the corruption energy as tendrils started to appear.
But this time, there wasn't a mist that appeared in this area that purified the dark tendrils that came out of the demons. The only thing that fell down were the spells of the undead monsters and the breaths of the wyverns.
That was enough to relieve the pressure on the human troops that were in this area.
Though there were some earth tendrils and some roots that came up to grab a few demons imbued with corruption energy.
When these things came out, there was smoke that started coming from these demons.
In no time at all, these demons were purified and lost all of their corruption energy before dying.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
After a barrage of attacks, we suddenly had the wyverns fly up and head off in a different direction. We moved out of the range that the demons could counterattack us from, giving them no chance to do anything.
With a wave of my hand, we moved to the next location.
By going above the clouds, we were able to move without being spotted.
The first spot that we hit was a spot that was on the edge of the battlefield.
The second spot that we hit was a spot that was on the other side of the battlefield.
It was a place that also could be considered the edge of the battlefield, so the conditions were around the same.
After we came down from the clouds, the same thing happened to the demons that were here where they weren't able to fight back at all.
They were hit with the spells and flame breaths, while a few of them were picked off by the earth tendrils and roots that came out of the ground.
Then the same thing happened where the pressure on the human troops were relieved and they were able to fight back.
That was the plan that I had come up with.
With the mobility that we had with our wyverns, the best thing that we could do was go to different parts of the battlefield and relieve the pressure on the human race army.
This would allow the human race to come back from a lack of attritions.
It wasn't just these two spots alone that we hit, we also hit many different spots on the battlefield, but it was always at the edge of the battlefield.
We could have hit the center of the demon army formation, but I had a bad feeling about that place. It was as if there was something that was there that unsettled me, which was why I never directed my group there.
It really felt like there was something sinister there, which was also similar to the feeling that
I got from the corruption energy.
Whatever was in the center of this formation was most likely the ringer for the demons.
I wasn't going to provoke that so early.
After hitting a few more spots, the tide of the battle completely changed as the demons were suddenly being pushed back.
The demons just couldn't keep up with the suppression that followed after the pressure was relieved, so they were being pushed back.
Unlike the humans that had strict military order, the demons fought in a more free style manner, which didn't give them the ability to recover that quickly.
It seemed that the humans could finally catch their breath.
What do you think?
