Chapter 173: Guests
Chapter 173: Guests
When the people saw what Arrora and the black-armored men were doing to the Lambert family, they had become terrified of Don. However after they heard about Heaven's gate and what happened to Rose's family, they came to realize that the punishment was exactly what they deserved.
Two days after the meeting with the nobles, many of the men in the Lambert family lost their lives and the families of the culprits of Heaven's gate were exiled from Emir after paying half of their wealth to Don.
Meanwhile, the noble families except Demet and Lambert agreed to give their full support, especially the Vanneste family and Pattyn family who showed their support by donating a significant sum to the treasury.
When Don and the men reached Agoria, Lord Clemo was waiting for him as he sent Lord Clemo along with the nobles of Agoria. He was nervous as well as excited to travel with the Speckle family.
As Don reached his castle in Agoria, he went to the throne hall to see Stodemar was waiting for him.
"Me king, ye be back,"
Stodemar bowed and held out a parchment
"This be tha agreed prices an' materials, clothes, an' everything we need, me king. I've already shown this ta Amaryll an' Dior"
Don took the parchment and examined the prices for a moment
"I'm not familiar with the prices, but it looks like they gave us a nice discount, am I right?"
He then gave it to Arrora to check the prices as she nodded after carefully studying the contents
"Yes, it does look that way"
"What do you think Stodemar? You're the expert"
The dwarf proudly grinned when he heard the compliment from Don
"This might be tha best price we can get, me king, plus, Gabriella's tha one handling tha transportation, so I'd say we have struck a good deal"
"Alright then, tell them to come"
Stodemar bowed again and left the throne hall to go to the guest house where the merchants were staying.
While he was waiting for the merchants, Don waved his hands as a delicately forged armor and weapon appeared before him. He covered them with a cloth and placed them on a table in the center of the hall.
"I didn't believe the dwarves when they said that even their junk would still be better than high-quality armors and weapons forged by humans, but seeing this, I'm afraid they were right "
Arrora said.
"This junk could bring us a huge wealth and rich people from other kingdoms"
"So when are we leaving to enter the dungeon? We should get some notifications this week right?"
"Yes"
A few minutes after, Stodemar brought the merchants and Gabriella
"Your majesty"
Don motioned them to sit and he sat on his throne
"You've got yourselves a deal"
The merchants sighed in relief and smiled when they heard him
"You won't be disappointed, your majesty"
Ian said as the others nodded their heads
"I expect the goods to arrive on time, I've lot of things planned"
"Don't worry, your majesty, we would deliver the goods as soon as possible"
Gabriella assured him
"After this, you can go to Emir and meet the nobles, go to Emir and meet with my head of state, Warren, he would arrange a meeting with some noble family who might be interested in doing business with you "
The three merchants became very excited as Don looked at Gabriella
"So Gabriella, tell me what do you think about this?"
He said and waved his hand as the cloth covering flew away and revealed the armor and weapon.
"Your majesty, is this?"
"An armor and a sword forged by dwarven blacksmiths"
The moment he said this, the merchants' eyes almost jumped out of its sockets as they looked startled.
Gabriella stood up from her seat and walked towards the armor and sword to inspect them closely. By the look on her face, she seemed like she was familiar with dwarven armors as she closely studied the armor and the sword
"This is indeed dwarven forged, but your majesty, it's not the quality of the armors and weapons, your soldiers have"
He was surprised to see that Gabriella had noticed the dwarven armors his soldiers wore.
"You knew?"
Gabriella slowly nodded
"My father is a collector of dwarven forged things, your majesty, he would buy anything to add to his collection as long as it's dwarven forged, I've grown looking at those so I know a little about them "
Don didn't expect her to spot the difference between this junk armor and the high-quality black armors but he understood that if she really knows about dwarven forged, she would know its value better than anyone.
"Why would I sell the armors and weapons forged for my soldiers and equip my potential foes? Can you sell these? I know there are people like your father for example out there who would pay a huge sum to get their hands on armors and weapons forged by dwarves"
"How much armor and weapons are we talking about? your majesty"
"Quantity isn't a problem, I can give you much as you want"
The merchants and Gabriella couldn't believe what they just heard because the dwarves were extremely hard to find around this part of the land and it was even harder to find dwarven blacksmiths who could forge an armor with this quality.
Gabriella was very excited since this deal could bring her guild a tremendous amount of new customers and profits but first, she needed to close the deal with a good price.
"I can get you four hundred gold coins for a piece, your majesty"
"Seven hundred a piece"
He knew he can get more as no one would agree to the first offer without negotiating
"Four fifty"
"Six fifty"
"Five hundred"
Don said and a smile appeared on Gabriella's face
"If you can give us the exclusive rights to the armors and weapons forged by the dwarven smiths, I can do it for five hundred, your majesty"
Don didn't mind giving her the exclusives right because it would be her job to bring in clients and do the little things while his men only needed to set up a forge and make armors and weapons, nothing else.
Besides this deal would be a final push for thunder heart merchant guild to make a move against Grega merchant guild if his guess was correct.
When they make a move, he would barge in and save the Grega merchant only if they agreed to work for him than with him or if they refused to work for him, he would let nature take its course.
"Deal, and you can take these with you as my gift to your father"
"Thank you, your majesty, I'm sure my father would be very delighted to see them"
"Good, the forge will be built before the next shipment arrives in Emir"
"Wonderful"

"Now that I've finished everything in Emir and the materials are here, we can start the new construction works"
Don summoned Stodemar, Ken, Joel, and Lord Clemo to discuss constructing new restaurants and tea houses in Sigalla and Emir. They were standing around a table and discussing the construction work looking at the blueprints that were drawn by Ken.
"As I already said, you can hire many men as you need, I want them finished as fast as possible "
Arrora and Arwen had no expertise in building stuff so they just stood behind.
"We should prioritize the dam first, your majesty"
Ken said as Stodemar nodded
"The dam would take six months to build, am I right?"
"Yes, your majesty"
"How long do you think it'll take for you to build a few buildings? Not six months I guess"
"Three months top, your majesty, we already have a building in Mairis, so we only need to build two buildings for restaurants, and how many tea houses do you want to be built?"
"Let's start with three but it doesn't have to be as big as restaurants"
Don preferred talking with Ken and Stodemar than looking at the ugly scratchings that Ken called blueprints. He knew Ken is a man of many talents but he sure wasn't a good artist. And he was glad that he wouldn't need Ken's drawing skills as he needed his engineering skills.
"Your majesty"
A guard entered the throne hall and bowed
"What is it?"
"King Edward and Princess Amber is here, your majesty"
"What? Are you sure?"
Lord Clemo asked the guard as he nodded
"Yes, Lord Clemo, I saw them with my two eyes, they will be here in a few minutes"
"Well, then let's go meet them"
Since King Edward treated him with respect, he decided to return the gesture as he followed the guard outside to welcome them personally.
"King Edward, Princess Amber, I didn't know you are coming here"
When he reached the lawn, he saw King Edward and Princess Amber step out of their carriage as Don quickly waved his hand and created a windshield around them to prevent the rain from drenching King Edward and Amber.
"Did we interrupt anything by coming unannounced? King Don"
Princess Amber asked with a gentle smile as Don shook his head
"Of course not, let's go inside"
"I saw a flock of refugees coming this way when we were traveling here, King Don"
"Oh, let them come, more people means I can finish the construction works faster"
