Rise of the Crusader

Chapter 147

147 Tower II

Not everyone’s eyes were apparently glued to the screen, some were staring and also talking about the student in the surrounding.

And as Jeremy moved from where he was and walked towards Raphael, a couple of the students eyes were on him.

Both of them were colossal forces in the academy, and it would certainly be of delight to see them battle against one another.

A life-and-death battle would, of course, be extremely exciting.

“I’m Jeremy... Jeremy Mccall.” Jeremy said in a soft tone.

His hand was stretched out for a handshake, while a light smile hung on his face.

Aiden and Devon were standing close to Raphael, glancing at one another.

The both of them then turned towards Raphael, wondering how he was going to handle the situation.

“Raphael, don’t forget what we talked about.”

.....

Aiden moved close to Raphael and spoke in a really low voice.

“Aiden, he doesn’t need you telling him or remaining him what to do. I’m sure he can handle himself.” Jeremy blurted.

A frown appeared on Aiden’s face as Jeremy spoke. He stared at Raphael and then took a step backward.

The smile on Jeremy’s face widened.

Meanwhile, Raphael stared at Jeremy for a few seconds before responding to his handshake.

“I’m Raphael,” He said as he shook Jeremy’s hand.

Whether it was the students in the surroundings or the seven directors, they all shifted their gaze from the screen to Raphael and Jeremy.

There was concern on the faces of some people in the surrounding, while the majority were hoping both sides would get to battle it all out.

It could, of course, lead to them being disqualified, but if there was one thing the students cherished apart from a bloodbath, then it was seeing a metahuman’s downfall.

Especially when he or she was of high value.

“It’s nice to finally meet you, Raphael,” Jeremy said.

And as both of their hands came in contact, a sneer appeared on their faces.

Jeremy had chosen to go for an aggressive handshake, and who was Raphael to back down from the attack.

Raphael applied even more force to his grip, and so did Jeremy.

While both of them had neutral looks on their faces, they were in a heated exchange, battling for who would pull out of the handshake first.

The sound of bone cracking soon sounded, and a second after, Jeremy pulled out of the handshake.

Even though the bone crack had occurred in his hand, a smile appeared on his face. He stared at Raphael and then nodded his head at him.

“As I’ve heard a lot of things about you this past few months, It’s only right I come to greet you personally,” Jeremy said.

“And I must say, I’m impressed.”

Jeremy’s voice wasn’t loud, neither was it low, but it was clear. And with the whole surrounding in complete silence mood, everyone could hear the words that were coming out of his mouth.

“I will be true to you, “Jeremy paused. “I’m not here to be your friend, and at the same time I don’t consider you to be my enemy.”

“Instead, I’m here to wish you good luck and hope you get to the top because it’s really lonely up there.”

There was an expression of mockery on Jeremy’s face as he stared at the other student in the surrounding.

Jeremy chuckled, seeing the look on their faces.

He wasn’t foreign to receiving killing intent from them and after a few seconds, he spoke.

“See you at the top, Raphael Queen.” With that said, Jeremy turned around.

There was a bit of disappointment on the majority of the crowd’s faces, as they had been hoping a hit or two could occur, considering how mentally deranged Jeremy was.

And based on the scene they had witnessed between Raphael and Adrian, they were sure that he wasn’t one to entertain rubbish.

So, a battle was pretty much certain between the both of them.

However, they were all let down, seeing neither Jeremy nor Raphael making a move against themselves. As Jeremy walked away, a couple of them hissed, and then returned their gaze to the screen.

As for Raphael, his gaze didn’t leave Jeremy, even after he arrived at the murderer division area.

“Jeremy Mccall,” Raphael mumbled in a low voice.

Jeremy was not tall nor was he short, and he wasn’t well-built either. He wasn’t all that handsome also, instead, he could be said to be extremely ordinary.

However, the feeling he gave was different. No matter how ordinary he looked, no matter how simple the clothes he wore were, he excluded a unique demeanor from his body.

The aura emanating from his body wasn’t comparable to an ordinary person. It was as though he were born to rule.

“Are you good?” Aiden asked.

And in response, Raphael nodded his head.

Suddenly, five students appeared on the ground in front of the tower. The five of them stared at the tower with regret written all over their faces, and after a brief moment, they walked away.

After reaching a point whereby their body could no longer handle the crushing pressure of the tower, they were expelled from it.

And coincidentally, neither of them was able to ascend onto the sixth step, meaning they weren’t qualified to move to the next round.

“There we go, he is now on the sixth floor,” Aiden muttered, staring at Marcel.

Marcel took a deep breath as he ascended to the sixth floor.

The test was really one to determine one’s willpower and perseverance. As the pressure that was contained in the tower could break any ordinary human apart.

Every step was more difficult than the latter, and as he stared at the others behind, a smile was quick to form on his face, seeing the state they were in.

“Hehe!”

Most were now on the fifth level, and the pressure was nothing like they had faced.

It was ten thousand times more powerful than the fourth stage while ascending to the sixth step was literally hell.

Marcel had only taken his gaze off the people behind him when he saw someone standing close to him.

“Bane?” He stuttered with shock evident in his voice.

Responding to Marcel, Bane winked at him and then suddenly placed his right leg on the seventh floor.
