Rebirth: The Villainous Young Master Doesn't Want to Follow the Script

Chapter 25: Hall of Legacy

**********

HALL OF LEGACY….

It's the Chevalier's most heavily guarded treasure hall that is filled with high-graded spells and incantations. Aside from the Marquis, the other three children…. Altron, Harrison, and Felicity were the ones who were allowed to have access to enter the hall.

The Marchioness doesn't have the privilege, even though she is the legal wife of the Marquis because there were rules that only allowed the direct family bloodline of the Chevaliers.

Eclipse should have access to the Hall of Legacy even though he is a half-blood noble, but his father's blood still runs through his veins. However, they denied him because of his birth mother's commoner status.

'As if I care about that right now. Before, it was a big deal for me but now that I am back and thinking about it, I couldn't help but feel foolish. Why am I so obsessing about my father's acknowledgment, anyway?'

All Eclipse cared for now is to heal his soul energy so that he can go back to the World-Hopping Department and continue his job as a world-hopper.

He has no lingering attachment to this worldline, and he doesn't care if one day this worldline would cease to exist since he is no longer a native of this world.

Eclipse didn't know the treasures stored inside the Hall of Legacy since they did not grant him access to it. However, based on his recollection from the previous timeline, there was an incident where someone managed to infiltrate the Hall of Legacy.

Upon investigation, they discovered that the only item missing was the [Dawn of Tears].

He snapped from those thoughts as he didn't want to think any further and that was from the previous timeline, anyway.

"For entering the Chevalier's Hall of Legacy, aside from the Marquis, your older half-siblings are the ones who were permitted to enter with a special seal that was entrusted to them by the Marquis. At first, I was planning to steal one of their seals, but I noticed something different."

Eclipse didn't interrupt her and let her continue.

"The special seals that your older half-siblings have…. They divided it into three separate parts with each other."

'Now, that's interesting. It seems like our dearest father didn't even trust his blood-related children to be alone in entering the Hall of Legacy themselves. If one of them needs something, the three of them should go together since the seals they have are one seal at all.'

Eclipse; "The Marquis is clever. He only permitted those three to have access to the Hall of Legacy, but only if the three of them would come together should one of them need something inside."

Rheina frowns at the sudden conclusion coming from this young child; "Why do you say so?"

"Because the Marquis isn't the kind of person who will just follow the whims of his children, blood-related or not. He might have permitted my older half-siblings, but there are still restrictions from it. Don't you see what he is trying to do?"

The assassin contemplated what the young child was saying and, after some time of thinking, she looked at Eclipse with wide eyes.

"Are you telling me that the Marquis is trying to break the bond between your older half-siblings? Why the heck is he doing that?!"

Eclipse only shrugged off his shoulders; "Who knows?"

There are countless possibilities if Eclipse would overlook what he knows from the world plot and the additional information from the system archive.

From his vague memories of the previous timeline, his father, Marquis Augustus, is a quiet and stubborn man who firmly believes in his family's motto of justice since their ancestors were front liners of the war during ancient times.

On the surface, his father had that pristine appearance of chivalry that would do anything to defend the Empire and its people that his ancestors committed to protect with all their lives.

'I don't know what he is planning, but that doesn't concern me at all. If they wanted to destroy themselves, then let it be as it wasn't my business, anyway.'

The world-hopper saw the woman slouched on her shoulders with a dejected look; "Then how are we going to get inside that place? It's not only one seal that we need to steal from. It's three divided seals! This is a problem!"

Eclipse looked back at the woman and smirked; "After two days, just prepare yourself when that time comes."

"What?"

Eclipse ignores the woman's perplexed expression; "You're dismissed. Go back to your quarters."

Before the woman could protest, Eclipse turned his back on her and didn't bother to look back at her and Rheina just sighed because she knew she couldn't win if she tried to push the conversation.

"Okay. I'll wait for your signal. For now, I'll do some [other things] on my side then."

With that, Rheina disappears from his room and the balcony window has been closed after she left, and he noticed that she even erased the traces of her being here.

'Well, that's good for me then.'

Now that he is the only person in this room, he pulls out his system interface and then tries to connect himself with his superior, Red's system interface.

« …. ACCESS DENIED.... INSUFFICIENT ENERGY…. »

Eclipse raised an eyebrow at the blue screen in front of him because of the warning message that appeared when he tried to reconnect with his superior's system interface once again but still failed.

'Still not enough energy?'

That's strange. Whenever Eclipse entered a worldline before, only a couple of days that he could connect himself from his superior. It's been more than a week or two since he arrived in this worldline, but still, couldn't connect himself to his superior.

'Now that I think about it, I didn't check the worldline progress rate this time because I kept myself busy the moment I was sent back here.

From his system interface, he immediately pulls out the chart to see the progress rate of this world and, when he looks up into it, he frowns.

...

« Progress of the world plot [Mystique Enchantress] …... 0.007% …. »

« Minor Villain Character of [Mystique Enchantress] "Ezekiel Zephyr Chevalier" progress rate ... 1.125% …. »

'What in the…? What is this? Is there something wrong with the progression rate of this worldline? Why is it so slow?!'

Eclipse couldn't understand what he was seeing in the system interface, and he thought that there was some sort of error or something, but he thought about it.

'I can only conclude the reason the progression rate was so slow is that the main plot of this worldline hasn't started yet, but based on my experience from the other worldlines, the world plot's progression rate shouldn't be this d*mn slow!'
