Chapter 282 – Was this the price that she had to pay to take Su QinYing’s place. (2)
Jia Hongyuan let out a sigh of relief and cast a complacent look over at Chu Zuo, obviously happy that he was able to snatch it under his nose. As such, he was no longer disgruntled when he looked over at Fang JunRong. He now felt that this woman was much more pleasing to look at than Chu Zuo. He said in a friendly manner. “Just let me know if you need any help today. I am a generation above you. You can refer to me as Uncle Jia.”
“I just might have favors to ask in the future.” Fang JunRong, too, took the olive branch that he sent her way. There were, after all, no permanent enemy in business.
Jia Hongyuan went over to the other room to give him family a call and had them had the money ready. A wild ginseng like that was too rare. He would hate to miss out on the opportunity.
Fang JunRong was just about to tell Chu Zuo that she had more wild ginseng that she could sell to him when he said to her, “You should thank me. You were able to make 5 million yuan more because I raised the price for you.”
Fang JunRong couldn’t help but smiled. As it turned out, President Chu had no intention of purchasing the ginseng from the get-go.
“Lao Jia might be a little bit on the power-hungry side, and sometimes had a sharp tongue, but he knows what he is doing and never goes back on his words. You would not need to worry about him being an obstacle for you in the future with the favor you’ve given him today.”
Fang JunRong felt a warm current through her heart. “Thank you, Uncle Chu.”
Chu Zuo was looking at her in a much more tender way now. “We should be the ones thank you. After all, we don’t have the daring and resolution to just give away such precious herbal formulas.” The White Jade Cream and Detoxification Pills had benefited countless individuals. Chu Zuo was very willing to reach out an olive branch to Fang JunRong just for that alone.
A saying occurred to Fang JunRong. Those who were on the right path would receive more help than those who were not. That described her current state quite well.
Jia Hongyuan was quite happy after he had made the call. He looked friendly even when around Chu Zuo, his all-time rival. All of a sudden, these two archenemies were unusually harmonious around each other today for a change. When the three of them appeared in front of the others, many were stunned. Then they looked at Fang JunRong, who seemed to fit in very well among them. They couldn’t help but put her up on an even higher pedestal.
Fang JunRong wasn’t aware of what was going through the other individuals’ minds. With both presidents by her side, she had become the shiniest start of the night.
All of a sudden, she spotted a familiar person. It was Su QinYing. Er, Su QinMei to be precise. She, too, had been invited to the event today. It sort of made sense. After all, her maiden family was also in the herb-related industry.
“Excuse me. I am going over there to say hi,” said Fang JunRong to the two presidents as she walked toward Su QinMei.
“Madam Su.”
Su QinMei, who had just walked inside the venue, turned and saw Fang JunRong immediately. She took a step back reflexively and forced a smile on herself. “Ah, if it’s not Madam Fang.”
Looking at Su QinMei, Fang JunRong smiled suddenly.
“Speaking of, looking at Madam reminded me of your little sister who had passed away.”
An unease flashed past Su QinMei. “Do you know my sister QinMei?”
“I went to my reunion not too long ago and someone there was an acquaintance of your little sister. She mentioned something about her to me. I feel so unjust for you,” said Fang JunRong.
Su QinMei’s lips trembled a little. “What did they all say?” She had a very conflicted look. She wanted to find out what was said but she was also worried that she would hear something negative from Fang JunRong. She did not retain much of what had happened from her college days.
