“Thank you.” Jiang WenYu accepted the cream from her and applied them over her wounds numbly. The truth disgusted him more than he had imagined. Hatred roiled inside of him like the ocean. It could drown him. The viciousness born from learning the truth made him want to destroy both the Zhang’s and the Su’s. The cold sensation of the White Jade Cream brought him back to reality like someone had poured a bucket of ice-cold water over his head.
Fang JunRong looked at Jiang WenYu calmly. “Revenging is one thing but be mindful not to lose yourself while doing so.” Ever since her rebirth, as much as she had hated Wang Xiao and the others, she never acted rashly. She planned every month meticulously.
In the short half an hour leading up to now, a lot had changed with Jiang WenYu. His look was gloomy and roiled with an unsettling emotion.
She added, “You signed a 5-year contract with me. At least don’t land yourself in jail in the next 5 years.”
Jiang WenYu was taken aback a little, a smile slowly appeared on his handsome face. The smile washed away the worries she felt just a little while ago, much like the rain cloud being dissipated by a breeze.
“Yeah, I know.” He then added, “At the very minimum, I will make sure you will receive returns from what you have invested.”
That was right. He wouldn’t kill them. He would only set up traps in front of them. If they were to fall into those traps, it was their fault for now watching where they were going, right?
Fang JunRong knew that he valued his words a lot. If he had gave her his words, then he would not go and break the law.
“Let me know if you need my help in anything.”
She was well-experienced in the area of revenging and could share her experiences with him.
“I hope that my investment on your will turn into the best investment that I have ever made in 10 years’ time.”
Jiang WenYu’s lips curved upward. “It will.”
He did not bring the reports with him but left them with Fang JunRong. Before he took off, he pulled out a picture of his mother when she was young. She was very lively in the picture and filled with anticipation for the future.
He looked at it long and hard before he finally put the photo back into his pocket in a very cherished way and left without looking back.
It was bright and sunny outside but it was overcast in his mind.
When he returned to the Zhang’s, he wasn’t surprised to see Zhang Bi around. Zhang Bi looked to be in a good mood and even greeted him.
Jiang WenYu would never have paid him any attention in the past but, today, he nodded back at him slightly.
Zhang Bi was surprised by that. He gave Jiang WenYu a dubious look. Ever since Jiang WenYu’s return, Zhang Bi had been polite and friendly to him whether they were alone or there were others around. Part of the reason was that he didn’t want to give reasons for others to gossip and the other part was that he wanted to appear to be the good one when contrasting with Jiang WenYu. Jiang WenYu had never been rude per se, but would normally ignore him. So what had gotten into him today?
He recalled what his spies had reported back to him – that Jiang WenYu seemed to have met up with Fang JunRong today. Perhaps his change in attitude had something to do with that?
He asked tentatively, “We owe it Boss Fang to be able to reunite as a family. Perhaps we should have dinner together when we are all free?”
Jiang WenYu’s voice was a little cold. “I don’t want to hear her name for the time being.”
Zhang Bi was happy. Was there some sort of conflict between the two of them?
That being said, what kind of conflict could there be? Fang JunRong had always been generous. As far as he was concerned, Fang JunRong had spent tens of millions of yuan to build Jiang WenYu his laboratory when he was just a nobody. How else would he had two thesis published on international magazines?
