Chapter 188 - Gift From an Unknown Person
Chapter 188: Gift From an Unknown Person
“What you said makes sense. Maybe she needed some time alone these two days. That was why she was absent from work yesterday.”
“I heard that she took a leave of absence tomorrow. I wonder if she’d be going out on a date or healing alone at home.”
Mu Siyin was speechless.
She had to admit that these women had quite an imagination.
Work was coming to an end in the evening when someone approached the reception. “There’s some flowers and a gift for you, Siyin. You need to sign the papers here.”
Mu Siyin found this mysterious. Flowers and a gift?
Everyone in the company instantly stretched their necks to look at her.
Those who chit-chatted earlier on immediately widened their eyes in disbelief.
Mu Siyin stood up suspiciously. Could it be… Shi Beiyu?
She had told him that it was not appropriate for them to celebrate the Double Seventh Festival. Was that why he sent her gifts before the day itself?
Mu Siyin lifted her eyebrows slightly. Then, she followed the receptionist and headed to the reception to pick up her things. From a distance, she could see a worker carrying a bouquet of fresh and gorgeous red roses.
“These are yours, Miss Mu. Please sign here.”
Mu Siyin acknowledged it before walking forward to receive the flowers and the gift box.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
The receptionist smiled at Mu Siyin and said, “You have such a proactive boyfriend, Siyin. What an early gift.”
Mu Siyin smiled and nodded at her. “Thanks.”
“You’re welcome. No worries!”
Everyone watched Mu Siyin carry the flowers back to the table with different expressions in their eyes. When she got back to her seat, she noticed the pink color card sticking out from the bunch of flowers.
She blinked and picked it up. She was dumbfounded when she saw the words written on top…
It was not Shi Beiyu’s writing.
[Wishing you an early Double Seventh Festival, Miss Mu. Hope you remain pure at heart, and may your days be filled with happiness.]
Mu Siyin frowned while she flipped over the card to make sure that she did not miss anything. After that, she opened up the gift box next to her.
It was a delicate and beautiful bracelet made of different colored diamonds.
As a jewelry designer herself, Mu Siyin estimated that this bracelet was worth at least 5 million.
Curiosity instantly washed over her. Who would send her such an expensive gift without leaving a name behind?
At the thought of this, she flipped over the packaging to look for some information but to no avail.
No.
She could not accept such a gift.
She quickly took the gift box and ran towards the receptionist.
However, the delivery man was no longer there. As such, she quickly ran after the person, but there was no sign of him outside the building.
She began to suspect its origins.
Who on earth could the sender be?
She was still amid her thoughts when her phone abruptly rang in her pocket.
Mu Siyin immediately came back to her senses as she scurried to take her phone out. It was Shi Beiyu.
She paused for a while before answering the phone. “Hello?”
“Are you going back to the Mu family tonight?”
Mu Siyin pondered about it and murmured, “Yeah. Tomorrow is my elder sister’s death anniversary. My house is much closer to her grave.”
Upon hearing this, Shi Beiyu gave a faint reply, “Okay. Have you gotten off work?”
“Not yet, but soon.”
“You should go home earlier. Don’t tire yourself out.”
“Yeah.”
The crease on Mu Siyin’s forehead deepened after the call ended.
To be honest, she really thought Shi Beiyu would be the sender before the call. However, the way he spoke told her that it was not him.
Who on earth would it be?
Did that person not have anything better to do? Why must he play all these games on her?
She let out a frustrated sigh. There was nothing she could do but head towards the building with the gift in her hands.
The moment she turned around, a luxurious black car at the corner of Mu Corporation’s building started its engine. It was not eye-catching, so it blended into the traffic seamlessly…
