Chapter 175 - Are You Still Mad At Me?
Chapter 175: Are You Still Mad At Me?
Mu Siyin instinctively packed up her things and left after she heard her colleagues’ conversation.
She headed towards the reception to clock out. Coincidentally, Director Wang was there too. The woman felt good to see how dejected Mu Siyin looked. She raised an eyebrow and asked, “You look so dejected, Mu Siyin. Do you want me to give you two days’ leave to rest?”
Upon hearing this, Mu Siyin clocked out and smirked as she looked at her. “Would you approve my leave?”
Director Wang nodded her head. “Of course. I’ll approve your leave no matter how long it is.”
Mu Siyin blinked and nodded her head. Then, she said, “Okay. I would like to take a leave of absence on the day of the Double Seventh Festival. Thank you, Director. I’ll be heading home now.”
Director Wang was dumbfounded.
With a frown, she watched Mu Siyin walking away and opened her mouth to say something. However, she found herself at a loss for words.
It took her a while to come back to her senses. She looked at the receptionist and asked, “She… What is the meaning of this? She only took a day off on the Double Seventh Festival. Didn’t she break up with her boyfriend?”
Did this mean that Mu Siyin was faking her sadness the entire time? Just to take a leave of absence?
It did not sound right. Her eyes that morning were so puffy. It was obvious that she had been crying!
After hearing this, the receptionist pondered before saying, “Maybe… she can’t stand seeing all the romance in the air on the Double Seventh Festival? That’s why she wants to take a leave of absence that day. To stay at home.”
Director Wang immediately nodded her head. “You’re a genius, Little Rui! That must be it!”
Mu Siyin did not care what Director Wang and the others thought. The Double Seventh Festival fell on a Friday that year. She was still figuring out an excuse to take leave when the Old Hag suggested it. Why would she not be happy?
Mu Siyin instinctively peaked at the side of the road the moment she walked out of the company. The familiar car was parked there as usual.
The windows rolled down. It was a new driver, but he spoke just like the first one. “Please get in, Miss Mu.”
She hugged her bag as she stood rooted to the ground. She was not sure if Shi Beiyu was in the car or not.
She paused for a while before asking, “Did your Young Master send you here?”
The bodyguard nodded his head. “Yes.”
She let out a sigh of relief. It seemed like Shi Beiyu was not here.
“I-I need to handle some things back at the Mu family, so I can’t go over to his place tonight. You should head back.”
She was not emotionally stable yet and needed some time alone that night to calm her thoughts down. It was better to see him tomorrow night.
“Let me send you.”
Mu Siyin rejected him immediately. “It’s fine. You should head back.”
The bodyguard paused for a while before saying, “It’s hard to call a cab now. Let me send you back.”
Mu Siyin took a glance around and noticed the long line of cars in the traffic. As such, she could only nod her head. “Okay.”
She walked up and reached her hands out to open the door. Just as she was about to get in, she lifted her eyes and stared straight into a pair of deep, amber-colored eyes.
Her entire body stiffened instantly.
Seeing this, Shi Beiyu lifted his large hand to pull her into the car and onto his thighs domineeringly as usual.
Her entire body tensed as if she were sitting on a mat of needles.
“W-Why are you here too?”
Mu Siyin felt like she had just been conned.
After all, she genuinely thought that he was not here!
Shi Beiyu intended to lure Mu Siyin onto the car. Otherwise, she would probably ignore him and walk away.
“I’m here to pick you up from work.” He lowered his head lustfully and buried it deep at the nape of her neck. As he breathed in the scent of her hair and her sweet body odor, he could not help but kiss her.
Mu Siyin shuddered as she ducked.
Shi Beiyu raised his glance and looked at her helplessly. He whispered, “Are you still mad at me?”
Bitterness filled Mu Siyin’s heart.
She had no right to be angry.
As the thought crossed her mind, she shook her head softly and replied softly “No.”
