Chapter 157 - Qian Duoduo
Chapter 157 Qian Duoduo
“Stay away from the fire! Players of long-range professions, where are you? Go kill him with your skills!”
“Suppressor! Come on, suppressor! Get him, just once and we’ll seckill him.”
Brother Nine of Glory darkened his face at the scene of hundreds of people fighting chaotically.
For a small-scale team fight, about one thousand people was the upper capacity limit of the field. These people would form a huge and solid human wall, and make a small part of the place jampacked. In such a situation, there was no use to put more people onto the battlefield because they could not see the core target anyway or it would be a waste.
Xiaofeng moved back and forth among the crowd as swiftly as a wind elf. From time to time, he would drink a bottle of Water for Purification to make up the sharp loss of his Magic Points caused by using Flaming Skill. Where he had passed by was all flames.
Under such huge damage, no player could survive longer than three seconds. Thus, the people behind Xiaofeng fell on the ground dead, like wheat being cut down.
During the time, Xiaofeng was stopped and attacked by some people as well, such as the shield warriors with Crashing Skill, which the shield warriors were known for. Using the skill, one could get close to their target and might beat him or her back and knock them out.
Because Xiaofeng was fighting closely with the players of Glory Guild, he could not dodge every crashing attack that was aimed at him. However, those shield warriors whom he was fighting found that he remained motionless under the attack and bounced them backward like a mountain.
This was all because that Xiaofeng was under a heavy burden now. He had a pile of stone slabs used to build the Transmission Formation in his backpack, and thin as he might look, he was actually very heavy. As a result, those crashing attacks that could be suppressed by strength could hardly hurt him.
Besides, Xiaofeng’s enemies had set up many traps on the ground, such as the Trap of Frost to slow him down and the Trap of Vine to bind him. However, with the overbearing power of his artifact, Dragon’s Skull, Xiaofeng easily broke free from those low-level traps.
Though Xiaofeng had managed to dodge most of the attacks and his Dragon’s Skull also had blocked some attacks from above, the rain of attacks did cause him some trouble—he got struck by a random shot from time to time, which caused him to continuously lose his Health Points.
However, as a priest, as long as he did not get himself seckilled, he could recover his Health Points with the holy light at any time.
“This is impossible…”
As flames continuously spread around the place, more and more players of Glory Guild were killed, and in several minutes, only a few people standing in the back row were still alive.
Brother Nine of Glory’s face turned livid, and he did not say anything else except for repeating “this is impossible”, staring at the scene with the captains of the two elite teams in shock.
“There are two elite teams! Two!”
“Is this the power of the top player in Huaxia District? I’ve heard that Blademaster could fight against a thousand people alone, and I never believed that, but now…”
Everyone was in great shock as they stared at the tall figure on the battlefield and the cold eyes under the Skeleton Mask. Facing hundreds of enemies, the figure remained calm and ended the fight with his Health Points bar still full. He was even barely scratched.
Xiaofeng did not show any mercy to Brother Nine of Glory or the players of the guild. He slayed them all and sent them back to the bind.
“Good.”
Xiaofeng scanned all kinds of equipment dropped on the ground in pleasure, and picked some good ones from among them before returning Tianlong City leisurely.
“Brother Xiao, get offline, it’s time for dinner. I’ve brought you everything you wanted.”
When Qian Duoduo went online, Xiaofeng gave her a pack of equipment and cleared his own backpack. He then told her to connect Midsummer Rose later before going offline.
At the bind of Nature City was a swarm of silent players from Glory Guild, and the atmosphere there seemed depressing.
…
“Ninth Brother…” a commander said and looked towards Brother Nine of Glory timidly. The members of the guild used to address Brother Nine of Glory “Ninth Brother” instead of president.
“We’ve never suffered such humiliation since the establishment! Damn Master Healer! He is trying to push me to death!”
Brother Nine of Glory thundered with a sullen look.
“Ninth Brother, Master Healer is too powerful to deal with now. He has even taken the place of Blademaster as the top player on the Celebrity List,” the commander said gingerly.
“Hmph! He defeated hundreds of us, but it doesn’t mean he will defeat thousands of us! Hundreds of thousands and even millions of us! At all cost, I’ll overthrow him from the list! Spread the news that he is wanted!” Brother Nine of Glory looked cold as he spoke.
“This… Yes,” the commander answered upon seeing that Brother Nine of Glory was determined and would not be convinced.
“I’ll let him know there is no good end for him since he offended me! He will not dare to step out of Novice Village because however many times he comes out is how many times he will be killed! And any guild that dares to accept him will turn itself into my enemy!” Brother Nine of Glory continued, “Go find out everyone who is close to him, I’ll root up all of them! Where are the other three people in his team in the instance zone? Kill them!”
“It’s easy to handle those two elves, but, the female player from Orc… she is one of the Wolves’ guild,” another commander said embarrassedly.
“Wolves? Fine, leave her alone then. I hope it’s just a coincidence and the Wolves are not involved.” Brother Nine of Glory frowned a bit. Wolves were one of the great 10 guilds in Huaxia District and the toughest one among them. There had been no news of them before, and now, it turned out that they joined the Orc.
“Yes.”
“Some elite players’ equipment was damaged, give them new ones. Now, I’m going to visit the Midsummer Guild. I believe their leader must be happy to join hands with us since Master Healer destroyed their encampment and is on their kill list. Oh, right, he offended the Doomsday League as well. He is dead, with so many powers wanting to get payback.”
Brother Nine of Glory sneered coldly and left the Transmission Formation so hurriedly that he missed the following words from a commander.
“Wait, Ninth Brother, the Midsummer Guild has removed him from their kill list…”
…
Xiaofeng entered the dining room only to find Qian Duoduo and Xiao Ling sitting there together. Qian Duoduo seemed to be trying to please Xiao Ling, who did not buy it or speak to her.
“Haven’t you called me here for dinner?” Xiaofeng asked, confused.
In the spacious room, there was nothing on the dining table to eat.
“Yes, but we’re waiting for you to make us some food, Brother Xiao.”
Qian Duoduo nodded in a natural manner and added immediately, “Don’t tell me you thought I knew how to cook.”
Xiaofeng accepted the bitter truth and went into the kitchen swallowing his anger. Luckily, there were many food ingredients among the things he told Qian Duoduo to buy.
…
Several simple dishes were placed on the table quickly, and Qian Duoduo’s lit up as she took a bite of them. “Wow, Brother Xiao, I found myself so wise to make friends with you offline,” she cried out, shocked by Xiaofeng’s excellent cooking skills.
“Brother Xiao, please marry me! I have a great appetite and won’t waste any food you make.”
“Clang! Clang! Clang!” Xiao Ling knocked on the plate with her fork and stared at Qian Duoduo with her big blue eyes and a ferocious look.
“Go on with your food.” Xiaofeng had gotten used to her reactions like that, so he looked indifferent as usual.
Because so many accidents had happened in the school that day, Xiao Ling looked tired after dinner. Xiaofeng brought her to sleep before cleaning up the kitchen.
Qian Duoduo, leaning against the kitchen door, said while staring at Xiaofeng, who seemed to be used to the housework, “Brother Xiao, you know what, I have a pair of extraordinary eyes. I won’t forget anything I have read and I can predict the next movement of things, but I can’t read you.”
She looked serious at the moment because she thought of how Xiaofeng suddenly disappeared before her eyes that noon. It was rare for her to wear such an expression.
Just as she had said, she did have a pair of unusual eyes that could see everything in slow motion, but she failed to catch any trace of Xiaofeng disappearing that noon.
She knew Xiaofeng was no ordinary man; otherwise, he could not have made his name No. 1 on the Celebrity List.
However, looking at Xiaofeng’s back, who was now proficient in housework and looked nothing different from an ordinary man, Qian Duoduo was confused.
Xiaofeng wiped the dishes and asked without looking back, “Money-hungry Businessman is your father, right?”
“How… how do you know that?”
Qian Duoduo was stunned for she did not expect that Xiaofeng would mention that name and know their relationship.
“By coincidence,” Xiaofeng answered without thinking. Though he seemed careless when putting the plates back, he made no noise.
“Yes, Qian Manman is my father, a man who cares for nothing but money. He is famous in the financial circle, and as online games became more and more important in people’s lives, he saw an opportunity in them and made an investment. That helped him become the number one businessman in Huaxia District, known as Money-hungry Businessman. He is a successful businessman indeed, but he doesn’t deserve to be my father,” Qian Duoduo explained in a depressed and resentful tone.
“Seems the two of you don’t get along well,” Xiaofeng dried his hands and said after walking out to sit on the sofa.
“In his eyes, everything could be measured in terms of money, including our affections.” Qian Duoduo followed Xiaofeng out of the kitchen and sat down beside him. She had a bitter smile on her face when she spoke. “He even sold my mom for money.”
Xiaofeng ceased his movements and became quiet the moment he heard those words. He never thought that Qian Duoduo, an outgoing and carefree girl, would have suffered so much.
Qian Duoduo rested her face on Xiaofeng’s shoulder and continued, “I hate him and want to destroy him every night and day, until he has nothing left to lose!
“I thought I would never stand a chance to avenge him, and even I would become his merchandise and bargaining chip one day. However, I saw you, Brother Xiao. There you were to bring me hope.”
Qian Duoduo suddenly hugged Xiaofeng, and her pink lips covered his. She made several clumsy attempts to put her sweet tongue into his mouth, but failed.
