[Nightmare]

Chapter 131 [Maze]

"Hello, Mr. Margrave." A power-weeb called out.

Helix turned around and saw a young man walking toward him.

"Maze, was it?" He asked.

"That's me. I'm sure you had a pretty good first impression of me." Maze chuckled.

"Please call me Helix. And yes, I did." Helix said with a warm smile.

Maze had mid-tone brown hair that he neatly groomed.

He had a dazzling smile and good-looking facial features.

If Helix had to describe him, he'd say that the man looked like the type mothers like to see their daughters bring home.

The strange part… was that he didn't change his appearance with the Eye of Beauty.

He didn't look like he belonged with super-otakus and power-weebs.

He looked like normie royalty.

"What part sold you? The coughing up blood or the rush to save my life?" Maze asked with a straight face.

"Personally, I think I killed the whole [damsel in distress] role."

Helix burst into laughter.

"You did pretty well. You still have a lot to learn." He chuckled.

"Try having that experience with Riley every day for three weeks."

Maze gave him a sly smile.

"I have a theory you acted weak to get that treatment." He mused with a slight smile.

"Hoh? Why do you think that?" Helix asked with smiling eyes.

"Because after experiencing Riley's aid once, I thought about it."

Helix gave Maze an unenthusiastic expression.

However, after Maze didn't back down, Helix burst into laughter.

"It's true that I enjoyed their treatment of me." He chuckled.

"But I was weak. I came to Myriad with zero stats aside from 25 spirit particles."

Maze's eyes widened in shock.

"But how… then…." Maze stuttered awkwardly.

His mind went blank after hearing the shocking revelation.

"A lot has happened since then." Helix replied with a slight smile.

"We'll leave that for another time."

Maze chuckled with a bewildered expression and nodded blankly.

"To answer your question, my first impression of you was standing up against Ronka." Helix explained while tilting his head.

He was indicating it would walk.

"One second." Helix said to Maze.

"Hey, everyone! Please stay clear of that half of the stadium for five minutes."

The two sets of Earthians nodded awkwardly.

Helix was nice, but they were also aware he was in full control.

He looked at the people in line to speak with him.

"Hey, everyone. I'm walking over there for five minutes.

Please wait for me here if you wish to speak to me." Helix requested.

"I'm excited to meet everyone and catch up with friends. I just need a moment."

Everyone nodded reluctantly.

Helix motioned his head to walk to the other side.

"Do you want me to come?" Maze asked with confusion in his eyes.

"If you want. It's okay if there's one person that joins me." Helix replied.

The other students looked at Maze with envy.

"To be honest, I'd rather stay. The envyites are on the prowl." Maze noted with a wry smile.

"True. Though, from one targetted person to another, I can say that avoiding things doesn't make a difference." Helix chuckled bitterly.

Maze looked at him with a serious expression.

He was contemplating what Helix said.

"You might as well accept it. You never know.

You might end up with a harem you'll die for." Helix remarked with a bitter-sweet smile.

Helix started walking, and Maze followed him by reflex.

He looked back at the watchful eyes of the power-weebs and super-otakus.

"I appreciate you standing up against Ronka." Helix said with a tone filled with gratitude.

"That beast is violent, so it took guts. I think we'll get along."

"You make it sound like we're already friends." Maze chuckled.

The two walked to the far edge of the stadium and turned around to face the ground.

"Hmmm? I thought we were." Helix replied nonchalantly.

"Are you being—"

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Screams erupted from the stadium.

"Here, let's move back. If we don't, people might have heart attacks." Helix laughed.

"What the hell… is this thing?"

Helix walked around the back of the large object he took from his item storage.

"An explanation." Helix replied with a mysterious smile.

As soon as Helix saw the groups again, he addressed them.

"Don't worry. The thing's dead. I'm placing it here for decoration."

"D-Decoration!?" Macron cried from a distance.

Helix chuckled when he saw the man's panicked expression.

He ignored him all the same.

"An explanation for why you're strong?

An explanation for why people shouldn't fight you?

What type of explanation are we talkin' about here?" Maze asked with bewildered eyes.

"It's a lot more complicated than that." Helix replied.

The two walked back to the area with the Knights.

They were in the middle of trading their Roshak cards but were focusing their attention on the [item] Helix pulled out.

"Hey, Hellie. It was pre~tty bold of you to pull out the Stalkwalker skull in the middle of the arena." Charlotte remarked with her hands behind her back.

"I think it's hot. You're coming out swinging."

She was rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet.

Maze's face heated up slightly when he saw her.

Charlotte had charm, and she was very cute.

Helix smiled and ruffled her hair lightly.

"It's for Macron." He explained.

"Oh…." Charlotte replied with wide eyes.

"I… see. It still doesn't detract from its boss value."

"I suppose not." Helix chuckled.

"Ey. You're the badass that stood up against [lava bro]." Charlotte commented with a pleasantly surprised smile.

"Wait? You don't remember me as the [ruthlessly beaten for a rational opinion] boy?" Maze asked with wide eyes.

"Hmmm? I don't understand. That made it better." Charlotte replied while blinking twice.

Maze's eyes widened.

"See, this is why I said we were already friends." Helix chuckled.

"Yep. That one action was a sign that you were our peoples." Charlotte chuckled.

Maze felt like he was thrown into an alternate dimension.

"Try not to think about it too hard." Helix suggested with a laugh.

"I have three gorgeous girlfriends that love me for being a nice guy. It's nearly criminal."

"Are you girls into… damsels?" Maze asked.

"You're quite forward." Charlotte grinned.

Maze's eyes widened, and he quickly turned to Helix to see if he had messed up.

Helix laughed and continued walking to the area he was in before taking out the Stalkwalker skull.

"To answer your question, no~pe. We're into badasses.

Hellie brought this entire city to its knees before he was stabbed, then saved the city from ruin while he was asleep." Charlotte explained with a puffed-out chest.

Maze gave her a depleted gaze.

"Hmmm? You don't believe me?" Charlotte asked with a finger on her lips.

p "Seems… rational. Buuuuuuuut, it's true."

Maze's eyes glided to the left in thought, then looked at Helix for confirmation.

"Something like that." Helix shrugged.

"Stats aren't a measure of strength.

If it was, it would be impossible to explain that thing." Charlotte declared with an evil grin.

Everyone in the surrounding area looked at Helix with shock.

He sighed in response and stood in the same spot as before.

The people who were waiting were frozen after what they had just heard.

"Mr… Helix, sir?" A female power-weeb called out.

"Just Helix is fine." Helix replied with a slight smile.

On the inside, he was cringing from the amount of respect he was getting.

"Ummm… yes. My name is Maddie." Maddie began nervously.

"We're… curious if… you killed that death dog thing?" She asked with a meek tone.

Helix nodded with a slight smile.

"Charlotte and I, along with the other two ladies, killed it with the help of multiple grandmasters and 1200 troops." He confirmed.

Maddie and Maze's eyes widened in shock.

"I hope that it's not intimidating." Helix clarified.

"I have a legitimate reason for pulling it out, and the arena is the only location that fits it."

"Why… legitimate…." Maze muttered in a daze.

"It's an explanation." Charlotte replied.

The cute blonde's exact verbiage was the last nail in the coffin for Maze.
