Chapter 312: A name
Blake couldn't help but laugh at her fierce determination, a warmth spreading through him at the reminder of just how fiercely protective Rose could be. She was a force to be reckoned with, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
Blake couldn't help but feel a surge of conflicting emotions coursing through him like a tempestuous storm as he stared into her eyes in silence , smile slowly fading away.
Her words delivered with a hint of dark humor, sent a shiver down his spine even as they elicited a soft chuckle from his lips.
As he locked eyes with Rose, he was struck by the dichotomy of her nature. Her outward beauty belied the darkness that lurked beneath the surface, a potent combination of beauty and danger that both fascinated and terrified him.
She was like a drug to him, intoxicating and addictive, drawing him in with her irresistible charm while simultaneously warning of the dangers that lay ahead. And yet, despite the inherent risks, he found himself irresistibly drawn to her, unable to resist the pull of her magnetic presence.
It was a precarious dance they shared, walking the fine line between love and danger, desire and fear. And yet, for all the uncertainty it brought, Blake couldn't deny the thrill of it all. For in Rose, he had found a kindred spirit, a partner in crime who understood him in ways no one else ever could.
Yes, she was a risk, a gamble that could very well cost him everything. But as he looked upon her now, with her captivating beauty and hidden depths, he knew that he was willing to take that chance. For in the chaos of their love, he found a sense of exhilaration that he had never known before. However, there was something else he needed to know. He couldn't let it slip by.
Blake's voice was tentative as he broached the sensitive topic, his gaze searching Rose's eyes for any hint of uncertainty or fear. "Rose, do you... feel differently now that I'm not human?" he asked, the words hanging heavy in the air between them.
"I mean, you don't need to be told. You can practically smell my scent... and I'm different. Does that change things for you? Knowing that the Blake you knew before... isn't the same?"
"Blake, nothing has changed for me," she replied, her voice steady despite the weight of the conversation. "When we met, I held secrets from you. I told you lies, put your life in danger countless times. I'm basically responsible for all that has happened to you. Yet, you accepted me just as I am. In my lies and filth, you chose to be by my side.
Even when we were separated, far away from one another, it didn't change anything cause you kept running back to me"
"So the answer is no, my feelings haven't changed, rather they've evolved into something else I can't explain. Love, that term can scarcely define what I feel for you. Yes, you may be different now, but you're still the same person I fell in love with. Your essence, your soul... it's still the one I know and cherish."
She reached out, gently cupping his face in her hands, her touch grounding him in the present moment. "You've faced challenges and changes, but through it all, you've remained true to yourself. That's what matters to me," she continued, her words filled with unwavering love and conviction. "No matter what form you take, you'll always be Blake to me. And I'll always love you."
Blake felt a surge of relief wash over him, his heart swelling with gratitude for the depth of Rose's love and understanding.
As Blake sat beside Rose, her touch felt like a balm to his weary soul. Her hands moved with a tenderness that spoke volumes, tracing the contours of his face as if committing every detail to memory. It had been too long since they had been together like this, and the moment was both precious and bittersweet.
With a soft sigh, Rose hesitantly broached the topic that had been weighing heavily on her mind. "Have you seen her?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, her eyes searching Blake's for any sign of recognition.
"The baby?" Blake replied, his brow furrowing in confusion. When Rose nodded in response, he let out a small sigh of understanding. "Yes, I know about her," he admitted, reaching out to gently grasp Rose's hand in his own.
"How?" Rose asked, her voice tinged with curiosity and apprehension.
"Doctor Martina told me," Blake explained, his gaze softening as he spoke. "But even after that, there were little doubts," he admitted, his voice tinged with regret. "I'm sorry for ever doubting to begin with. Because all those doubts faded away when I came in contact with that little munchkin. I knew immediately that she was my own."
Rose's eyes welled up with tears as she listened to Blake's words, the weight of their shared truth settling over them like a blanket. "Yes," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "We have a daughter."
.As they sat there, heads resting together in a tender embrace, Rose's tears fell freely, dampening Blake's shirt as she let out all the pent-up emotions she had been holding in for so long. Blake wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close, offering silent comfort and support.
In the midst of their shared vulnerability, a thought occurred to Blake. He gently lifted Rose's chin, his eyes searching hers with a newfound intensity.
"What's her name?" he asked softly, his voice barely above a whisper.
Rose blinked, taken aback by the sudden question. "I... I haven't given her one yet," she admitted, her voice trembling with emotion. "I wanted to wait... for you."
Shocked by her words, Blake shook his head in disbelief, overwhelmed by the depth of Rose's love and devotion. Despite everything they had been through, she had waited for him, holding onto hope that he would return to her and their daughter.
Tears welled up in Blake's eyes as he realized just how much this woman was willing to sacrifice for him. He vowed in that moment to never leave her side again, to be the partner and father their little girl deserved.
"Rose," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion. "You are the most incredible woman I've ever known. And I promise you, I will never leave you again."
