MY SUGAR MUMMY IS A BEAUTIFUL VAMPIRE

Chapter 276: Journey to find Rose

"What happened out there?" Nana asked anxiously, her voice tinged with worry.

Reggie exchanged a knowing glance with Gunther and Randal before shaking his head solemnly. "It's... complicated," he replied, his voice heavy with regret.

Nana's heart sank at the vague response, frustration bubbling up inside her. She couldn't understand why they were being so secretive, especially when it involved Blake's well-being.

Before she could press further, Reggie spoke up again, his tone apologetic. "We're sorry for how we treated you earlier," he said, his words laced with sincerity. Nana remembered the tension that had filled the room when they realized Blake was missing, their frantic search overshadowing any consideration for her feelings.

Despite her lingering questions, Nana couldn't help but appreciate Reggie's apology. It was a small gesture, but it meant a lot to her, especially in the midst of the uncertainty of the situation and the fact that had they not found him, she would still share a part of the blame for losing him because she was supposed to monitor him, knowing herself that he was acting rather strange.

As she looked at the trio of knights before her, she realized that they were all grappling with their own concerns and fears, united in their desire to protect Blake.

However it was annoying how they seemed so secretive like she didn't already know the in and out of what went on.

Nana's frustration boiled over. She couldn't bear being left in the dark any longer, especially when it concerned Blake, whom she had grown to care for deeply.

"Enough with the secrets!" Nana exclaimed, her voice tinged with anger and desperation. "I know you all think of yourselves as Blake's family or something, but before you found him on my island, I was the only thing standing between him and being lost forever. I deserve to know what happened!"

The group exchanged uneasy glances, a silent acknowledgment passing between them before Reggie stepped forward, his expression grave.

"You're right, Nana," Reggie admitted, his voice somber. "Blake... he went out of control tonight."

Nana's heart sank at Reggie's words, a wave of dread washing over her. She had seen glimpses of Blake's dark side before, but she had never imagined it would escalate to this extent.

"What do you mean, out of control?" Nana pressed, her voice trembling with fear.

Reggie hesitated for a moment before continuing, his tone heavy with regret. "He... he got into a confrontation with a gang at a club. Things... didn't end well."

Nana's eyes widened in shock, her mind racing with a thousand questions. She couldn't comprehend how Blake, who had always been so fiercely protective of those he cared about, could find himself in such a dangerous situation.

"What happened to him?" Nana whispered, her voice barely above a whisper.

Reggie's expression darkened as he recounted the events of the night, sparing no detail. As he spoke, Nana felt a knot form in her stomach, her worst fears coming to life before her eyes.

Reggie's voice broke the heavy silence that lingered in the room after his explanation of Blake's ordeal. "I think it's best if we all get some rest," he said wearily, his shoulders slumping with exhaustion. "Tomorrow, we'll need to be ready for another search. This time, we're going to find Rose."

Nana nodded silently, her mind still reeling from the shocking revelation of Blake's actions. Despite the turmoil swirling inside her, she knew that their mission to find Rose was more important than ever.

"I'll start making preparations," Gunther interjected, his voice filled with determination. "We can't afford to waste any more time, not with how he is acting," Gunther said below a grunt.

The next morning dawned with a sense of urgency in the air. Reggie and Randal rose early, their minds already focused on the task ahead. Nana, having spent a restless night, was already awake, her eyes betraying her worry.

Reggie turned to his companions, his voice firm but tinged with concern. "We need to move quickly," he began, his eyes scanning the room. "Nana, Gunther, I need you both to keep an eye out for Blake. We can't afford for him to cause any more chaos, especially with Blake's current incarceration,"

Nana nodded solemnly, understanding the gravity of the situation. "We'll do our best to keep him out of trouble," she promised, her voice determined.

Reggie then turned to Randal, his expression serious. "You'll head to Ancroft in search of Rose," he instructed, his tone leaving no room for argument. "I'll head back home. We need to find her before it's too late."

Randal nodded in agreement, his eyes reflecting the same determination as Reggie's. "I'll leave immediately," he affirmed, already mentally preparing himself for the journey ahead.

Reggie then turned to Gunther, his gaze unwavering. "You'll stay here with Nana," he said, his voice leaving no room for debate. "Keep her safe, and keep Blake out of trouble."

Gunther nodded in understanding, his expression resolute. "I won't let anything happen to them," he vowed, his tone leaving no room for doubt.

With their assignments clear, Reggie felt a sense of urgency wash over him. They were running out of time, and they needed to act fast if they were going to find Rose and bring her home safely. With a final nod to his companions, Reggie prepared to embark on his own mission, determined to uncover the truth behind Rose's disappearance.

Blake stood by the window upstairs, his posture rigid and his expression unreadable. With his arms folded across his chest, he listened intently to the conversation unfolding in the room below him.

Through the open window, the voices of Reggie, Randal, Nana, and Gunther drifted to him, their words carrying a sense of urgency and determination. Despite his apparent detachment, Blake's keen senses absorbed every word, his mind processing the information with razor-sharp focus.

As Reggie outlined the plan for the day, Blake's eyes narrowed slightly, a flicker of emotion crossing his features. He knew he was the cause of their concern, the reason for their restless nights and tireless search efforts. And yet, he couldn't shake the feeling of isolation that gripped him, the sense of being apart from those who sought to protect him.

Outside the window, the world carried on with its usual hustle and bustle, unaware of the turmoil within the safehouse. Birds chirped merrily, and the gentle breeze rustled the leaves of nearby trees.

For a moment, Blake's gaze lingered on the horizon, his thoughts drifting to Rose and the uncertain future that lay ahead. Despite his best efforts to distance himself from the others, he couldn't deny the pang of longing that tugged at his heart.

"Soon Rose. Soon my love," Blake muttered underneath his breath.
