My Mother Has a System but Won't Use It

Chapter 170 Lot of Magic and a bit of Muscle

170  Lot of Magic and a bit of Muscle

"You are fast, you should have pushed the attack," said Han Li.

"Your sword is too sharp, I don't want to be hurt," The bald Nu Kai replied calmly.

Han Li chuckled and stood up, his legs wobbling. Inside, his shoulder bones were broken and his flesh mangled. Yet, unlike the other party, he couldn't regenerate. Two cold, scarlet eyes looked at Nu Kai. Han Li walked towards him, his overpowering casualness that was always hidden behind his actions was now gone, a cold, callous aura of a snake looking at its prey traveled like a slithering sensation across the enemy's scalp.

Nu Kai calmly but hesitantly looked at Han Li, his face dark. His confidence in fights were not any good, he was in fact, not a person who liked fighting opponents of his own level. He felt a bit afraid of his opposition and he wanted to end this already.

Like a blur, the bald monk who appeared to be in dark fur zipped through the air and once more appeared near Han Li, his claw was poised to strike his head in a vicious punch. Yet, suddenly, he felt as if an overpowering aura of danger devoured every part of his being, a sort of fear of looking at an absurdly higher existence when he was just a small ant.

Heart Qi, overpowering aura. Han Li didn't know much mechanics of this power, yet, he knew how to frighten people with it. A black sword slashed akin to the moonlight, heading straight for Nu Kai's neck. Blood would splatter, scarlet would inundate. Nu Kai would die. Yet, nothing of those sorts happened as the sword paused at the man turned beast's neck. A unique pair of lizard-like scales had appeared there. Completely blocking the sword.

"A Protective Magic Treasure!" Han Li exclaimed and kicked the monk away in a hurry, he knew he won't be able to swing the sword again before Nu Kai came to his senses and launched a counter. His Heart Qi was not all powerful.

Nu Kai smashed on to the stone wall this time and he coughed up blood. "You can use your Magic Power in this place," he hissed in pain.

Han Li coldly looked at him. He couldn't find a way to defeat him.

His opponent still thought of him as a Transformation Type cultivator. All Transformation Type Cultivators would practice one Magic Power in the early stages of their cultivation and that would be their only Magic Power throughout their life unless they become Transcendent. That would be a Magic Power that adds on to the said cultivator's strength or one that removes a weakness. Even Yang Wei must have a Magic Power like that but Han Li had no idea what that Power was. That was the one thing that was unknown to him about the man named Yang Wei.

The black sword was flourished once more and Han Li coldly said, "So you have a defensive treasure protecting you. Did you get it in the trials?"

That thing was only on the neck, he could easily tell with his discerning eyes, but around the neck, even Power Borns would find it hard to hurt Nu Kai. But the monk on the other hand shivered slightly. "This place blocks all sorts of Magic Powers, I can't use mine and there is no way you can use yours. You also have a treasure that makes people fear you, right?"

"Is that so? I wonder." Han Li once again pushed on his Seduction Talent. This talent, he had never used it to its full potential. The monk's eyes turned red but he wasn't completely on track yet. Nobody could be so easily seduced in such an intense situation.

At the same time, Fantasy Inducement constantly made Nu Kai's head spin with incoherence, and his right ear in particular, seemed bad at times, often losing its hearing, yet, he didn't think Han Li was the reason for that. In his mind, it was his own inexperience in fights that was the cause.

Enraged and afraid of what would have been if his neck had been slashed, Nu Kai became even more cautious, and he walked around Han Li with the intention of another quick move and attack. He didn't know why Han Li hadn't yet transformed into his beast form, but he could tell that Han Li had a really thick skin for some reason. No attack of his had even left a scratch on the man's skin, that terrified him to no end. Han Li had obviously hurt him many times.

What he really didn't know, however, was that one of Han Li's shoulders was already incapacitated and broken, but it was just that Han Li could endure and swing it around without much of a moan. Even though cold sweat still matted his back. Han Li was obviously at a disadvantage.

Time passed, and they just continued their pounce and react attack form. Many times, Han Li was blasted on the wall by the enemies' quick moves, but only one more of his bone was broken, one of his left ribs, and that didn't impede his fight. For two hours straight, they continued doing the same thing, finding no holes in the opponent. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Many times, Han Li cut a lot of the man's skin and flesh, but soon, it would regrow, and the fight would continue. The only thing he had accomplished of note was cutting off the pinky finger of Nu Kai, which couldn't regrow. He could only regrow flesh but not bones!

Thus, their fight entered the next round. Nu Kai felt his head spin slightly and he couldn't help but find Han Li more and more arousing. He couldn't help but think Han Li's sword was beautiful. Another cut arrived on his chest, and breathing heavily, he jumped back and looked at the wound on his chest before growling.

Soon, it healed, but Han Li smirked. He was obviously ten steps slower than he was at the start. All those Talents were getting used, and in such an intense situation, Nu Kai was also taut mentally and physically, so his stamina was also in a very precarious situation.

Smiling to himself, Han Li continued, and soon enough, Nu Kai had his eyes turn blank, and he watched with a gawking gaze as the dark sword sunk into the side of his waist and then his bones before suddenly coming to a halt as a bubble shaped thing surrounded him and he unwillingly cried out as he was devoured by red mist and vanished.

Han Li sighed in relief and excitement, his heart beating calmly as he looked at his Mom who was in the distance, looking at him while seated in a corner, popping the earlier cherry-like fruits into her mouth, her face filled with boredom.

These physical brawls were interesting, but after two hours and a bit more, she had lost interest. Han Li wasn't in danger anyway. She decided she might as well consider it a movie to watch. Of course, she did sweat a lot in the middle of the fights when Han Li's hand limped here and there. She had a nagging feeling that he wasn't as healthy as he appeared.

"A tree that would bore us a Life Fruit every six months, what else can we wish for, Mom?" He sighed as he walked towards her and reached half a hand away from her. Then, his expression suddenly changed, and he looked around the room, and his heart fell to the bottom of his stomach.

"No…" He muttered.

Yue Li blinked. She looked around the whole stone room, but she didn't find anything worthy of being worried about. The door to the next trial hadn't even appeared yet. What was he so worried about?

Then, her eyes widened. She was not so foolish as to not see why his face had become so pallid so quickly. The door not appearing meant that they hadn't completed this 4th Trial's test. A drop of sweat fell from Han Li's temples, a foreboding sensation around him.

Then, he chuckled wryly. "I have been so deluded by wealth and greed again, my eyes couldn't see the truth right in front of us."

In his past life, only one person had made it to the 5th round. That was Monk Hen Shin, someone who accomplished significant feats, particularly being the only individual to have reached the 5th Trial and referred to as the strongest Power Born of the Era at his peak. There was no way it was that easy to enter the 5th round.

Even if he had failed, Nu Kai would have entered the next room. And he knew from the news that Monk Hen Shin was the only one in the fifth round, and it was said that even he had failed the task. So, the reason was obvious.

Fourth Trial, more than any of its predecessors, was far from easy. This was where everyone who was ordinary in the Sacred Talents of the Sacred Lust continent would be sent back. Most probably, Han Li knew that would also include himself.

Why?

This trial was obviously supposed to be fought with Nu Kai and himself as a team and they had straight up considered each other as enemies. He had been deceiving people here and there, he was deceived by himself. He wouldn't have made such an amateur mistake usually, Han Li composed himself.

Someone was trying to play with his own head.

Eyes calm, Han Li looked around with his life vision and in one particular area of the stone wall, noticed something he hadn't earlier. It appeared the same as anywhere, but hidden in an invisible form, there was…
