Chapter 128 A little hidden truth Han Li was just told.
128 A little hidden truth Han Li was just told.
Yue Li and Han Li were in a part of the forest that not many came to; they were holding each other's hands and waiting patiently. His mother cheerfully said, "I thought you wouldn't let me come, to be honest."
Smiling to himself, Han Li threw a side eye at her. "Want to go back?"
Yue Li pouted. "I am finally getting a chance to do something interesting, so don't you dare change the plan mid-way." Her eyes lit up while talking, and she murmured in his ears, "I can pay with my body. A lot. You see, a lot!"
Han Li chuckled and shifted his gaze to the great wall in front of him. This was the wall of the Sothern Lust city. In fact, directly beyond it was the Starlight Zone. At the moment, the Zone was protected by 3 Evolved on all sides, and any suspicious movement was being inspected with scrutiny.
Truthfully, if he and his family did want to go back into the city even while it was in lockdown, it was not impossible. They were not ordinary people in this city; they were the members of the Starlight Clan, and the Rock Clan would let them through after enough bargaining and inspection. No matter what the situation was, they had some basic rights that others wouldn't have in their homeland.
But Han Li liked to keep his family off of a possible crossfire. His wife, her mother, and Hua Feilan had already moved to somewhere where they would be completely safe—they had ridden on a carriage to the west, towards a hidden cave that Han Li knew about. Through a way that most wouldn't choose to go. They were safe.
Even if somebody wanted to go find them, it would be impossible unless they had a map or knowledge of the place he had sent them to, and so far in this timeline, he was the only one who knew of that place. And even if, by some abysmal chance, someone found Hua Feilan and the others, the one protecting them, Hua Feilan herself, was no weakling.
She was a proper Transformation Type Evolved. Fire Peacock Dao Soul she had could help her fight or even call for help just in case, and her connections were far and wide as the one nicknamed the Friend of all Women.
"It is here," Han Li smirked to himself.
Atop the fifty-meter-tall walls, something dark gently slipped through and silently moved out. Falling towards him. Han Li held out his hand, and the flying sword gently closed in, defying the restraints of gravity.
"So cool!" Yue Li exclaimed, filled with envy.
Han Li's outstretched hand gently wrapped around the hilt of the rusty sword and then rested it on his back. "Cool indeed," he replied.
"But wouldn't the guards have noticed?" Yue Li worriedly asked.
Han Li looked at her in surprise. "Wow, you can think?"
She clicked her tongue in disapproval, but she was generally happy now, so she didn't make a fuss and squinted at him. "What did you just do?"
Han Li took her hand and walked the opposite route from the wall.
"You see, Mom, this dull and rusty dark sword has many abilities. It is a simple thing of wonder that I don't know the limit of."
"Oh?" Yue Li skipped on her feet with him.
"Mainly, the sword has three functions."
22:36
"One big power it has is that it or its use cannot be sensed using Soul Sense easily, especially if that is my intent—if I wish to hide it, no one in this whole world can sense this sword using their soul sense." n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Yue Li released her Spark out into her hand and tried to sense it. In fact, she couldn't sense it at all as she expected.
"So you flew it here without caring about someone actually 'seeing' it with their eyes?" Yue Li curiously questioned. Her son was smarter than her, so he wouldn't miss something she didn't.
"I did, but there is a catch; I flew it near the darkest area of the wall, so it is rather inconspicuous there, so no worries. Even if someone did see it, it happened far from our home, and no one would suspect us; by the time someone is atop the roof to check, we will be far gone."
"Smart." She chuckled.
Han Li shook his head.
"Not smart. Experience."
"You have done this before?" Yue Li grew curious.
Han Li nodded.
"I have done this and a lot more; I will tell you someday."
"So you have indeed been keeping secrets. I knew it, though…" she said in a gloomy tone.
"You knew?" Han Li smiled.
"Of course I'd know…" She gave him a gentle fist bump on the back of his head. "I might be dumb, but unlike Liyue and Li Yao, I know you. There are a lot of changes in you subtly that I kept track of; if you wanted to hide, you should have hidden it better."
Han Li was surprised. A bit.
"So why didn't you ask?"
Yue Li smiled, too. "Even though I made you promise not to keep secrets between us anymore, I did keep that secret of me being from another world and such, and you didn't mind and allowed me to do whatever I wanted without asking and even waited till you were a whole eighteen years old without asking me a single time who your father was."
Han Li paused his step.
"I am not so ungrateful, and you remember when I had the depression and such…" she coughed slightly, "I thought a lot about it then, wondering what my little boy was hiding from his mother so much… you know, other than the negative emotions I felt towards Liyue and Li Yao, that hurt me just as much at that point, I just didn't tell you, and surprisingly, you didn't notice."
Han Li began walking once more with her hands held tighter in his.
"So that is why your heart healed faster than normal, no wonder. I was rather confused about the whole thing, you know? I had a feeling it healed before I licked your f—"
Yue Li tightened her hold on his arm. Filled with shame. "Don't say that."
"Okay," Han Li smiled. "So, even before I did that, I had a feeling you had already healed, and I was right, so I myself was also a core reason for your so-called depression other than your own lack of self-worth then. What helped you in the end? And you should have told me this sooner."
Yue Li followed beside him and then said with a sigh. "I had been keeping it in me for a while, you see. I was thinking along the lines of, 'Why is my baby not telling me his secret?' and 'Does he feel distant from me?' and so on and so forth, along with feeling mad at Liyue and Li Yao—ashamedly so—for slowly stealing you from me."
"So it was even worse than how I saw it…" "It was. A bit. And then I had this thought, 'Ah, my son is so worried about me. I can see him often frowning, far more than he usually does, and he is thinking of it all the time.' And there was…" she blushed in shame, "There was also that promise you gave me at the start when I was just heartbroken, saying you would do what you did at the last. Both combined, and something clicked in me."
Han Li felt her movements lighten as they moved further into the forest. By now, thick trees covered their paths, holding them in the embrace of their shadows and all around, the amount of different fauna and flora that was only found deep in these areas.
"It finally clicked. Xiao Li, ask me what you did."
"What did?"
"It clicked in me that you loved me the same when I kept the secret of your birth and my system and even my origin. So why can't I love you and you love me when there are a lot of secrets about each other that we don't know about? And I was also sure that you wouldn't keep such a secret for no reason."
"So you felt much lighter after that, and you still made me lick—"
"Xiao Li!"
"Well, don't keep secrets from me even if you are thinking such profound things with that dumb head of yours."
"Then don't keep secrets from me too. What is your secret?"
"I will tell you when the time comes. Not now."
"Argg, bastard, I knew you'd say that… even when we're having such a heart-to-heart moment. Bastard! A stingy bastard who doesn't even reciprocate his mom's love!!"
Han Li shook his head. "I didn't make you lick—"
"Stop right there!" She snorted. "That was a mistake that we both have to forget. A big mistake, I say, and you have to forgive me for that."
"Ah, I hope I don't do that mistake by mistake again then."
"Don't. It frightens me to even think of it. Even if you liked doing such things, please forget about it. We would never do it again. That is over."
Han Li's eyes twitched. And she didn't think at all about his own feelings like that when it came to her blowjobs. "More than that, what are the other powers of your sword? I will wait for the secrets, but not these."
"Ah, this sword can show me the whole life of anybody I slash it once with. I used it on my previous enemy, too," Han Li chuckled. That was why he was so sure the current things were totally unrelated to the mysterious Spirit and Yang Wei.
He knew everything about that rival of his.
"Whole life?" She gulped. "Super OP power. And…" She grew thoughtful.
"Xiao Li, when we are back home, use that power on me and try if you can see my other life."
Han Li was a bit hesitant but asked, "Are you sure?"
She scoffed once more. "Unlike a certain someone, I don't have anything to hide."
Han Li coughed awkwardly and changed the subject.
"The third power of the sword is that it can fly. In fact, if I think of it as a power, I have a connection to the sword even if I am far away, so I can always call for it, and it will act like it has intelligence and come towards me."
"Hmmm… maybe there is a sword spirit inside it?" Yue Li asked.
"What is that?" Han Li curiously asked.
Yue Li coughed. "You are uncultured. And whatever, where are we going?"
Han Li smirked. "To the Elephant Rock."
"Oh…!!!" Yue Li exclaimed. "What is that?"
