Chapter 147 Unexpected Quest
'I need to kill the two guards as fast as possible.' Alex thought of the attack combination he could use on the knight or the assassin, depending on which one will attack him first.
The third hidden chamber cap was only level 200, and every monster inside was in the boundaries of the second Rank, but the castle lord was different as he was at the peak of the Third Rank.
Alex was not afraid to fight the castle lord as he had enough means to go toe to toe with him, but he needed to play his card right to win the battle.
'I was hoping the boss would send the ladies first, and I can use that opportunity to finish one of them, but it looks like that's not happening.' Alex thought, seeing Ludrarth leave his seat and walk toward him.
Ludrarth stood seven and a few inches tall with a muscular build and was wearing black leather armor with a saber hung from the hip, and even though he was undead, his demeanor and face made him look no different from a proud warier.
'I need to create an opportunity to summon my elemental.' Alex thought, seeing Ludrarth slowly advancing toward him with a cold look.
Alex took his sword out and patiently waited for Ludrarth to get near him before moving in for an attack, but just as he was about to move forward to attack, the boss stopped and bowed his head.
"Adventurer, Please listen to my request," Ludrarth said with his head down as he stood a few meters away from Alex.
'What is going on?' Alex thought, not expecting the dungeon boss to do anything remotely close to that.
Alex was not surprised by how Ludrarth was able to speak and was trying to start a conversation and not attack him like a boss because he was not a normal boss but more like a free-willed NPC caged inside the dungeon who couldn't leave the dungeon even if he wanted.
'Clifford said his father made a contract with Demon Noble and was possessed by him, so I don't even know if this bastard is the real Ludrarth or just a brainwashed pawn of the demon.' Alex thought, not letting his guard down.
Alex had seen cases of the player helping special dungeon bosses get free from the dungeon, but the problems they needed to go through to achieve that was not worth it.
"Adventurer, I will give you this Saber and my life to you if you help me complete my request," Ludrarth said as he threw his black Saber toward Alex.
"Clangg"
'He will let me kill him? So he doesn't want to get free from this dungeon.' Alex thought.
'I don't know what is happening, but let's check the Saber.' Alex thought as he cautiously picked up the sword.
'What the ****' Alex thought, stunned as he checked the sword's stats.

"This is Forechester household heirloom, and it's not just a legendary Saber but also a ticket for the holder to join the prestigious Thunder Knights order," Ludrarth said after a few seconds of silence.
'He must be lying.' Alex thought, not even considering that Ludrarth was telling the truth.
The prestigious Thunder Knights order was a mercenary organization with close to twenty known [SS] Rank adventurers present in their organization, and there were also two known Elemental Rulers as their elder, and it was rumored that their leader was an Eight Rank warrior and (SSS) Adventurer.
The Thunder Knights' order was one of the backbones of the adventurer guild, and any of their members had the same privilege as the high-ranking Nobles.
In Alex's previous life, every player and NPC wanted to join the Thunder Knights' order because of the ancient arts and skills available to their members.
"The Saber holder needs to reach the Fourth Rank before he can join the Thunder Knights order, and Stormrage could be your for just accepting my request," Ludrarth said.
'I don't know his motive, but I will find out shortly.' Alex thought.
"What is your request?" Alex asked, not blindly agreeing to his request as he was here to get the whereabouts of the demon Noble to complete Clifford's request.
"I want you to kill Lerela Nilbontare," Ludrarth said while gritting his teeth and clenching his fists.

'I don't think the name is a coincidence, but more importantly, what the hell is this difficulty? Do I need to kill some Elemental Ruler?' Alex thought, looking at the system notification.
Alex wanted directly reject the quest after seeing the ridiculous difficulty placed by the system, but he knew it was related to the Demon Noble he needed to find and kill.
"I will consider accepting your request, but first, explain to me who was the demon Noble you contracted and who is this person that I am supposed to kill," Alex said, having already guessed who this Lerela person could be.
"How much do you know about the disaster of the Forechester household?" Ludrarth calmly asked, but there was clear madness in his eyes.
Alex told him everything he knew, but he kept his deal with Clifford a secret as there was no need to reveal that.
"I joined a demonic cult which gave me the blueprint of the magic circle I needed to draw with the Name of the demon and the number of people I needed to sacrifice to establish contact with the demon."
"I made a deal with the Demon Noble, A Marquess Rank Demoness with the strength of peak Elementalist to be specific."
"You would be thinking why the demonic cult would give me such rare resources to a mere mortal like me with strength no greater than a slightly stronger third Rank knight."
"The demonic cult people told me that the demon's name belongs to a low-ranking Demon Baroness, but they lied to me as everything they did was planned from the start before I even joined the cult."
"The Demoness had everything planned, and she poisoned me with her lies and promised that she could help me heal my wife, and slowly she convinced me that the only way to heal my wife was being contracted to a demon."
"Guess who wanted to be contracted to my wife," Ludrarth said with a sad smile.
"Why would Marquess Demoness would want to get contracted with a dying and weak mortal?" Alex asked the logical question.
"Because My wife had the Legendary Grade Elemental Physique of Ashen Flames, and her disease was because of her physique awakening."
"The doctor responsible for my wife's treatment belonged to the demonic cult and realized the reason for her diseases which he reported to his higher-up, who came to check the elemental physique grade, and even with the best of the available equipment, he was not able to evaluate it."
"The higher-up told the information to his contracted demon who worked for the Marquess Demoness, who then manipulated me into making my wife become her contracted slave."
"My wife trusted me, and as I was convinced into believing that my wife would stay the same even after the contract, I convinced my wife to accept the contract, which was the last and biggest mistake of my life."
"After the contract was completed, the Demoness instantly possessed my wife's body, and then she thanked me as she slaughtered everyone in the castle."
"She was able to kill us even with the weak body of my wife because of her mastery over worldly law, and with the strength of all my knights, we were unable to do anything to her."
"The Demoness Bitch told me everything in detail as to how The Demon contract allows the demons to forcefully possess the bodies of their contracted slaves, but once they do that, they can never return to their real bodies, meaning they lose all their strength."
"The demons only used this skill as a safety measure to prepare a vessel in case they needed it one day."
"The Demoness told me how she planned to possess a great vessel with great potential and was looking for it for years as her real body was dying, and my wife just happened to fit her requirements perfectly."
"The Demoness killed every person by showing them illusions of how they got killed by me and kept me alive till she killed the last person of my household."
"The Watcher turned my household into a dungeon and everyone who died into an undead creature while giving me free will and told me that one day I might have my revenge," Ludrarth said in a sad and enraged tone.
'It looks like I found the demon I need to kill, but the question is where do I find her, and what is her current strength,' Alex thought after digesting the new and mindboggling information.
