Chapter 125: In advantage, I alone.
Mark floated above clouds, wings flapping behind him. Yuri wrapped her legs tightly around his waist and pulled his head closer to her face with her hands, kissing him passionately. Her lips crushed his own lips while her tongue dived deep into his mouth to steal his breath.
Yuri was way shorter than him when he was in his demon form, but currently, she did have more strength to her petite body than even his demonic one. Her Physique stat dwarfed him. She wasn't letting go either.
She kissed him, kissed him again after taking a breathing break, and then kissed him once more.
For a long time, Mark just floated there in the sky, giving her time to calm down. He had come a safe distance away from the Hunters and with his Soul Sense checking around, no Hunter was going to be able to get him any time soon unless he wanted to let them catch him.
They broke away from the kiss, Yuri's saliva connecting their lips like a bridge.
"You are so passionate today, more passionate than ever," he remarked, smiling.
She blushed. It was a sight to behold. Yuri was mostly poker-faced, calm, straightforward, and quiet unless she had to speak. But now? She was… passionate.
The Scientist looked away from him to her surroundings, her legs tightened around him.
"I like flying with you like this," she said.
"I will carry you to more places like this then. Dona just sees the convenience of flight but doesn't really care about the art in it. But you could enjoy it, right?"
She looked around, still unable to hide the tremble in her lips and the blush covering her cheeks. She hid her face into his strong neck, then bit her lips.
"I thought you'd abandon me, Mark," she choked out.
"Really?" He asked with real disapproval in his tone.
Yuri suddenly felt as if she had done a profoundly wrong thing by doubting his sincerity.
"Don't be mad, please…" She hugged his head tighter. She was far from calm—he did care about her enough to risk his life to save her. "How did you even save me and then steal the Core? That was… so cool! And damn, so fast. What even happened?"
"You fell for me?" He asked, a predatory but charming grin on his face.
She couldn't help but swoon over that smile. This bastard.
"Damn you, tell me how you did that."
"Hmm," he hummed. "I jumped so fast that time and space itself surrendered before me."
Yuri couldn't help but chuckle. "What do you even mean, stupid?"
"Too profound for your little human brain to understand."
She gave his chest a small fist. She was strong, so he coughed in mock pain.
"Don't mock my intelligence," she said, pouting.
"Hehe, you are—"
Suddenly, Mark's face changed and he turned sideways. His soul sense had sensed someone flying towards him from the distance.
"Wierd," he said.
"What happened?" Yuri asked, worried.
Hanmo could fly using his ice. Mark had flown some pretty good distance away from the Hunters when they were all in shock, and Hanmo hadn't seen in which direction Mark had flown due to the cover of the clouds. Yes, that was true.
But what if Hanmo found them?
"It's not Hanmo," he said. "If that were the case, I'd already be running again."
Yuri smiled. "My shadow snake could bite his shadow once and we won't have to worry about him again. I am also an A-ranker."
"He's experienced and he knows your abilities. Hanmo is also very mysterious, we don't know yet how he was reborn."
"You could have taunted him and asked it, you know, just before you ran… Maybe he might have let out some clues, he is quite arrogant, apparently."
"But there is that Leon kid. The boy can slash through the air wherever his eyes can see, he could have sliced me with a gaze—I am just equal to a B-ranker and I have no defensive methods that could stand against the boy."
Even as he said this, his gaze was focused on the person who was headed towards them. Soon, Yuri also saw who was coming and her brows furrowed.
"Tiger, the elder one among the Twins. He has the Eye Shield ability. How is he flying?"
"He is creating a small shield below his leg in the air with every step he took in the air, and creating a stairway to heaven. Good thinking, but he is foolish. Too slow."
The kid was too slow. Having sated his curiosity about Tiger, Mark beat his wings and escaped from this area, too. He was not foolish enough to involve himself in further conflict before he got the Boss Demon on his side for real.
Reol'ran said leisurely, "You don't have to run in fear against any A-rankers anymore. You have the Core of the Mega-dungeon in your hand and as long as you do, you can enslave the Boss easily. Its True Name will appear automatically in your mind once you face it directly with the Core in hand. The Boss will fight for you from then on—as a slave."
Mark hefted Yuri slightly to the side and looked at a small black orb around the size of a baby's head in his hand. He looked at it with contemplation as he flew.
This was a Dungeon Demon's greatest weakness. They couldn't put the Core into a storage method even if they had such a method. It had to remain within the Dungeon itself and it couldn't even be stored inside one's own body.
This was such a dastardly weakness that Mark felt glad that he was not a Dungeon Demon. Even though his Dungeon-Heart-Seed-made-dungeons couldn't stretch too far, it was still better than having a weakness that could make him end up a slave to someone.
Yuri would have normally examined the Core, too. But for some reason, she just couldn't avert her gaze from Mark.
