Chapter 152
152 His Letter
The moment Bai Qi entered the room, Director Xiao had thrown a folded paper in his direction.
Bai Qi closed the door behind him and met Director Xiao’s angry gaze. He lowered his gaze and slowly bent down to pick up the paper.
When he saw the familiar handwriting on the paper, the look on Bai Qi’s face changed quickly.
He could not be more familiar with the contents of the letter. This was the letter that he had sent over to the association to complain about Director Xiao’s misusing of power.
How did Director Xiao find out about his letter?
“Doctor Bai, you’re quite courageous, aren’t you?” Director Xiao let out a chuckle. “You dare to send a letter to the association to complain about me? Fortunately, there was someone in the association who had intercepted this letter. But, Doctor Bai... Just who do you think you are?”
Bai Qi pursed his lips into a thin line. At this time, he did not think that there would be any use to explain things to the director. After all, his signature indeed could be seen at the bottom of the letter.
Director Xiao walked closer before snatching the letter from Bai Qi. Then, he threw that paper on Bai Qi’s face. “Do you think that your letter would be able to stop me? I’m telling you, Doctor Bai... You can’t do anything to me. You don’t have any power.”
From Director Xiao’s words, Bai Qi was able to find out that the letter had not reached the higher-ups. His heart sank.
.....
Bai Qi knew that he was now in big trouble. He might lose his job because of the letter he wrote.
“Now.” Director Xiao stood up straight. “Either you listen to my arrangement or I would definitely make it so that you can’ no longer work as a doctor.” Seeing that Bai Qi continued to lower his head, Director Xiao began to think that the young doctor should be terrified of his power. His lips turned up. “Marry my daughter. Then, I can promise that you will be given everything.”
“No.”
The smile on Director Xiao’s face stiffened. It took him a few seconds to figure out that he had not misheard the young doctor’s words. Looking at Bai Qi’s face, Director Xiao knew that he has not misheard his reply.
Doctor Bai had once again rejected his daughter.
As the realization hit him, Director Xiao’s anger heightened. His face turned red with anger.
Bai Qi was merely an orphan who had no backup or power. How dare someone like him rejected his precious daughter a few times?
Director Xiao chuckled. “Doctor Bai, you are too young. You don’t even know what was good for you.” He raised his hand and pointed at the young man. “My daughter is an excellent woman. Just why would you reject her?”
“I have someone I love,” Bai Qi said. “Director Xiao, whatever it is, I will never marry your daughter.”
“Then, you can just prepare yourself to leave the hospital and never come back.”
Bai Qi stared at the director for a few seconds longer. Then, he turned around and leave the room.
He had already offended the director when he had rejected Xiao Wan Zi a few times. Bai Qi figured that he should not care if the director would be furious that he had left the room without saying anything.
Bai Qi went back to his department to find his mentor. After explaining that he needed to attend his little sister’s parents and teacher meeting, Qi Zheng quickly approved to let him take a half-day leave.
Whatever happened had happened.
For now, Bai Qi decided not to think of whatever might happen at the hospital. Instead of worrying about it, there was something more important for him to do.
After changing his clothes, Bai Qi rushed over to his little sister’s school.
He glanced at his wristwatch a few times and cursed.
Bai Qi planned to leave earlier, but he did not expect that Director Xiao would call him over to his office. By now, the parents’ and teachers’ meetings should have started.
He wondered if Bai Xi Xi would be sad and disappointed when she could not see him around. Just imagining his little sister’s disappointed face made his heart ache.
Bai Qi could only pick up his speed and try his best to arrive before the meeting ended.
However, when he arrived at Bai Xi Xi’s kindergarten, Bai Qi met another surprise.
He stood at the door with a dumbfounded look in his eyes. No matter how many times he blinked, the person across the room did not disappear. It took him a while to finally accept that the person was real.
His little fairy was at his sister’s kindergarten!
But why was she here?
Zhang Li Xue was listening to the classroom teacher’s briefing about the kids when she had this feeling as if someone was staring at her.
She looked up and saw that Bai Qi was staring back at her.
The corner of her lips tilted up and Zhang Li Xue raised her hand and waved at the man.
Zhang Li Xue’s movement attracted others’ attention. The classroom teacher stopped her briefing and followed Zhang Li Xue’s gaze to the door. Soon, the other parents as well as the students were doing the same.
Bai Xi Xi’s eyes lit up when she saw his brother at the door. The smile on her face stretched up wide and her heart was beating rapidly.
She had thought that her brother would not be able to make it to the meeting. But now that her brother had shown up, Bai Xi Xi could not hide her excitement.
Seeing the unfamiliar face, the teacher walked over to Bai Qi and asked, “Yes? Mister, can I help you?”
Bai Qi let out a cough when he noticed that everyone was looking at him. He looked around the classroom and finally saw his little sister, sitting in the middle of the classroom. “Teacher, I’m sorry for being late. I’m Bai Xi Xi’s elder brother.”
The teacher’s expression grew softer. “So, you’re Bai Xi Xi’s brother.” As the words came out of her mouth, the teacher could not help but to give Bai Qi a few more glances.
The age difference between the siblings was too big! The teacher had almost thought that he was Bai Xi Xi’s father instead.
“Then, Mr. Bai, you can come in and join the other parents as well,” the teacher spoke.
Bai Qi nodded. He turned to Zhang Li Xue and walked over to her side.
