Life Of A Nobody - as a Villain

Chapter 375: War

After safely entering the camp, Rio and Valtor parted ways, Valtor went to interact with other humans and see if he could find anyone from the academy, or get any clues about them. While Rio went to investigate the so-called war and the origin of people from different races wandering into this camp.

Contrary to the tense atmosphere which a place who's about to go for a war should have, the people living here all seemed relaxed and calm. Making one doubt if they were so sure of victory, or did they all just treat their lives as nothing.

'This place is weird, and so are its people.' Rio thought walking around between the several camps.

With the memory magic he had learned from the system, he could mildly hypnotize someone, confusing their brains for a little while and gather some information. Though it didn't work on monsters before, it was working fine on the different races here. Making Rio doubt if whatever protection method was blocking his magic, only applied on natives.

From what he learned till now, this planet has 2 main races, Sapinsar and Simir. (Like earth's main race can be called humans) But other than these two, there are several lower races too, which got derived from them over the years of evolution.

Not many, namely a few. Like Dark Sapin, a race similar to dark elves of Arcadia. Since they look just like Sapinsar, except they don't have a tinge of green on their body, and the whole physique matches the brownish color of tree trunks.

These people have muscular forms and are proud of the physical strength they hold.

Next one, would be Ersion, a race born from Simir, similar to fairies, they have small green wings on their back and hold the position similar to priests and prophets in this planet.

Next one would be Nefir, which simply means halfbreeds. Their looks and appearance vary from birth to birth, generation to generation. The thing that doesn't change however is the fact that they're all born with a mark of a vein tattooed near their necks. Like a chain.

As for the humans living here, they're called outlanders.

Humans had entered this planet when their spaceship cracked the sky open and crashed down.

They probably passed through a wormhole.

The natives of this planet accepted the humans on the spaceship and welcomed them into their cities.

After ages, the humans had become a part of this world and integrated into their culture perfectly too.

This world is divided into 7 cities, four cities which had been governed by the original races of sapin and simir,,, and three which are controlled solely by the monsters here.

[Etum, Detum, Tetum, Chetum - cities ruled by originals.

Por, Sol, Faul - cities infested/controlled by monsters.]

Every 10 years these two factions would have a war. And this war would keep on going until one of the cities from one side completely falls, and gets controlled by the other faction.

This way, every 10 years one city would fall and change rulers.

As for the reason why this war happens, Rio couldn't find out. Whoever he asked or controlled, always gave him different answers. Not that they were hiding it, people simply didn't know.

They just know that if ever the war stopped or got delayed, all 7 cities would face a calamity so big, the whole planet could wither and die.

Thus the battle always happens. It can last upto days, to weeks, to even months or whole years. Until a city falls, even if everyone on your side is dying, you have to fight.

As for what signifies a city's fall, it's simple. When the other party can reach the towering tree planted in the middle of these cities. And control it.

There is no neutral city or neutral people who can sit by and not join the war, since being neutral meant being attacked by all the other factions together.

Rio already confirmed that none of his classmates were in this city.

So were they sent to some other city of originals, one of monster land, or somewhere else entirely?

He didn't even know how big of the world's part had been turned into a dungeon, how many cities existed inside this dungeon, and how many people were trapped here?

What if it's just the only city which got pulled here, what if the cities of Simir are the only ones here, then who will they fight. And what will happen if there's no fight?

Also what happens if their city lose? Would they die? Killed? Trapped or turned into the slaves of the opposing party.

There were so many things that weren't clear, about which Rio had no idea about, but that was to be expected. He had only roamed around the outer areas and got information from low level men.

Foot soldiers can only give random information, only the real leaders or their core members can tell the whole truth.

'This planet is so fucking weird.' Rio said again and frowned as he kept thinking about where his sister and others could be.

"I'll just have to wait for this war to start. If everything is as these people said, then whoever is alive will have to choose a faction and participate in the war." Rio said, thinking he'll see them on opposing sides.

With nothing to do, he chose to look for Valtor. To see if he found something useful.

But he had just taken 2 steps when someone blocked his path and stopped him.

"Aye, huuman, why don't u bow when you see us?" A burly muscular man with brownish skin blocked him and placed his hand on Rio's shoulder.

Rio looked at the dark Sapin trait guy and chose to ignore him. Trying to leave without causing a commotion.

But the burly man who saw his actions, just sneered and put pressure on his hand.

Rio felt the increase of weight on his shoulder, like someone replaced a small school bag with a large wooden log, and frowned. Looking up, he noticed the man's skin on his hand had turned a little darker now.

'Interesting' seeing this weird way of energy flow, a funny idea came to his mind, igniting a spark of inspiration in his mind.

Yet while he was busy in his 'epiphany' the burly man who saw him still smiling, frowned and increased the weight once more. His skin near his wrist turned brownish even more, reaching the tinge of lower red. He looked at Rio with a smirk, imagining the scene where this human kid, fell down to knees as his hand broke down under pressure, yet the scene he imagined never came.

But what greeted him instead of Rio's crying face, was a cold glare.

"Never interrupt my idea." Rio said and clenched his fists, his aura gathering near his knuckles, before a shade of darkness covered it completely.

Without saying anything else, under the surprised eyes of that burly man, he directly punched out, his fist hitting the stomach of that man. His hand felt like hitting a mountain with how hard his skin felt, before cracks started forming on that trunkish skin and his hand broke right through that armor and passed directly making a hole into his body.

"Huh, it doesn't work." Rio said, something under his breath, before pulling his hand back, and watching as a corpse fell right over his feet.
