Chapter 447: Chapter 447 - The High Priestess
Yara revealed the second card, which read The Chariot. The image showed someone riding a carriage pulled by two stags.
Her expression sharpened as she explained, "This card represents willpower and the pursuit of victory. It suggests that you have a significant role in shaping the future, controlling the direction of events with strength and determination. There will be challenges, but this card reminds you that you possess the inner drive to overcome them."
She smiled gently. "The Chariot also indicates you are moving toward something important. Although the path ahead may not always be clear, your persistence will guide you to success. However, it's crucial that you stay true to yourself as you take control of this journey."
Both Broken and Freya fell silent, absorbing Yara's words, their expressions thoughtful as they tried to process the meaning behind the card.
"This is a bit hard to digest," Broken said with a small laugh.
Freya nodded thoughtfully. "It talks about power and control that I supposedly have... but..."
"Could it be because you're helping me, like with everything you do in Slumdon?" Broken suggested. "I mean, since you pretty much handle everything here, maybe it's related to that?"
Freya nodded slowly. "That makes sense. If you're predicted to become something great-an emperor, a king, or whatever-and I continue in my role like I do now..." She paused for a moment. "But that also means I'll just be caught up in all your problems."
Broken chuckled. "You're the one who chose to be part of this, remember?"
Freya smiled. "No, I mean, it's actually good. It means I'll have a front-row seat to all the big things that are coming, and I'm ready for it! Yay... hahaha!" she said excitedly.
"Get ready for the chaos I'll cause then, because you'll be involved in that too," Broken teased.
Freya sighed dramatically. "That's why I'm here-to help minimize the damage."
"You really are incredibly useful. I'm proud to know you," Broken said with a grin.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Yes, you should know that very well," Freya giggled in response.
Yara nodded and added, "The Chariot symbolizes Ms. Freya's strength and determination. It shows that she plays a key role in steering things forward, especially during challenging times. It's a reminder that, no matter how tough things get, she has the power and will to overcome any obstacles."
Freya smiled brightly. "I really like this second card, Yara. Now, let's see the next one!"
Yara turned over the final card: The High Priestess.
"This card represents intuition and hidden truths," Yara began. "There is wisdom deep within you that you have yet to fully explore. You are more connected to the unseen forces around you than you realize."
She leaned in slightly. "Trust your instincts and the knowledge you carry. There may be secrets that will reveal themselves over time, and only by embracing your inner voice will you understand their meaning. This card also suggests that there is more to your story than what's visible on the surface-be open to these revelations, and don't fear the truth that lies within you."
Yara paused, observing the thoughtful silence of Broken and Freya as they processed the reading. She continued, "This card highlights Ms. Freya's intuition and hidden wisdom. It suggests that she should trust her instincts more. There may be truths or secrets she hasn't yet uncovered, and the card encourages her to embrace them, letting her inner knowledge and feelings guide her path."
Freya nodded slowly, clearly deep in thought, while Broken watched her with curiosity.
"So... Freya, did you get any insight?" Broken asked.
Freya sighed. "Yes, I think so, though the reading left me a bit confused since it feels like it's mixed with things happening outside the game."
"Maybe the talent's rating is so high that it can even sense things beyond the game?"
"I'd like to believe that," she replied.
Just then, the same thing happened to Freya: three transparent, floating cards appeared in front of her.
"Yeay! It looks like anyone who gets a reading from Yara also gets a reward," Freya said excitedly.
"Yeah, I think it's pretty cool," Broken agreed.
Freya giggled. "I wonder if my reward will be a photo, too?" She picked one of the cards, and it materialized in her hand.
Freya chose The High Priestess. However, something different happened-this time, the card transformed into a folded piece of fabric, like a dress.
"Wait? What is that?" Broken asked, surprised.
Freya giggled. "It seems I'm luckier than you, Broken. The card rewarded me with a costume skin! I can use it to cover my armor."
"Damn, now I feel like I've been treated unfairly."
Freya sighed, amused. "Now you know how the rest of us feel every time you get something extraordinary!"
Freya stood up excitedly and applied the costume skin. Surprisingly, it didn't resemble the High Priestess outfit from the card. Instead, it was a long, elegant green dress with a flowing, flared bottom that gave her a graceful appearance.
"See, Broken?" Freya said, spinning around. "What do you think?"
"Woah... that's so beautiful, Ms. Freya," Yara responded first, her eyes lighting up.
"Thanks, Yara," Freya smiled, then turned to Broken again, waiting for his input.
Broken grinned and, copying Yara, said, "Woah... that's so beautiful, Ms. Freya."
Freya playfully kicked his leg. "I knew it was a mistake asking your opinion!"
Freya continued to admire the new dress, giggling with delight. After a few more moments, feeling satisfied, she stored the costume back in her inventory and turned to Broken.
"We're done," she said before turning to Yara. "Thanks, Yara."
Yara smiled and nodded. "It's my pleasure," she replied. But suddenly, Yara looked weak and
slumped back against the sofa.
"Yara, are you okay?" Broken asked.
"My Lord, I'm sorry. I'm just feeling a little tired," she answered softly.
Freya quickly moved to help her up. "Come on, you must be exhausted from doing the
readings. Let me take you to your room."
Broken, watching the scene, said, "I'm going out for a walk, Freya."
"Sure, I'll catch up with you later," she replied while assisting Yara.
Alright! Broken was determined to head out and explore, aiming to gather more Reputation
Points.
Reputation equals points, right? he thought.
If he could build up enough reputation, he'd earn more points, allowing him to clear out the entire Reputation Shop. He was curious about how these points actually worked and what actions would yield the best rewards.
