Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

Chapter 366 Heavy Metal

The dark silhouette of the dragon hiding within the thick smokescreen quietly glided deeper and deeper into the dungeon through the sprawling cave tunnels. The glowing crystals were becoming larger and shinier. The thick rivers of the glowing, mysterious liquid flowed down the corridor, all connecting into wider currents.

'This must be the right path. Everything is moving in this direction. Even the mana in the air is becoming denser.'

Vesuvius kept his mind alert, all his senses strained to their limits as he expected an ambush.

Far in the distance, a giant mountain of crystal grew almost to the ceiling, its glow reflecting on the glossy, moist walls of the dungeon. The glow was so bright he couldn't even discern what was hiding inside the crystal. It pulsed like a giant beacon warning ship of a clip.

'I would bet it will pop the moment I approach it.'

A loud cracking echoed between the tall walls at that exact moment, and cracks spread through its perfectly smooth surface. With a loud ringing, it shattered into billions of glowing, glass-like shards.

A bright light flashed, reflecting within the dragon's shiny armour and eyes.

The dragon immediately opened his mouth, mana surging through his veins as if they had turned into wild rivers of mana. His mana's blue and golden glow was perpetrated through his armour, lighting him up.

A terrifying aura spread and a blaring growl shook the cavern, "Grraah!"

Two huge gemstone eyes opened within the dust clouds, staring at the dragon with hate and madness. They were so high they could even look down upon the stature of liberty as if she was nothing but a naughty child.

The metal scraped against the stone, sparks flickering in the dust clouds as if someone dragged a giant piece of metal through the round.

'At least it isn't one of these annoying mind magic monsters. But just a regular one.'

Vesuvius didn't just hover there idly. A huge sphere of all his apocalyptic elements spun and grew in his mouth, the mana, heat, and cold radiating out so intensely, it made the air shiver, glow, and flicker.

The domain quickly expanded out of his body, and a massive spinning hurricane of magma, lightning, and ice spun and rotated above his head.

He was ready to end the battle before it could begin, ready to unleash his frustration and anger on the poor monster, 'I will tear you a limb from a limb.'

A powerful shockwave and bang swept through the dungeon, and a towering, humanoid figure burst from the dust.

Its pronounced musculature worthy of an Olympic athlete was forged of metal shiny as steel. Its blade-like hands shimmered under the bright light of the crystals and the spinning hurricane of fire.

'Ohh, a metal colossus! Such a rare beast. Almost unfindable in the outside world. Even this single monster will turn this dungeon into a treasure throve for whatever nation will control it as the amount of metal contained in it is simply absurd.'

The beast turned into a sprint, its steps thundering like during a storm.

The massive spinning orb of energy shot from the dragon's mouth and passed through multiple curse circuits and star-shaped arrays, brightening up and turning redder. Everything around it disintegrated, its radiance so bright it put even the sun into shame as it flew, loudly shrieking and howling.

'Wait?! This mountain of metal must be worth a fortune as it can be used to arm entire armies.' Only now Vesuvius realized how wasteful he was. He slayed high-ranked monsters but always destroyed most of the harvestable material.

But it was already too late as the sphere had already reached the colossus, its metallic body pulsing and vibrating from the constant temperature shifting.

The giant's blade-like hand became blurred as it swished toward the incoming energy orb.

The blade and the orb met in the blink of an eye, and the sharp edge split the ball into halves, accompanied by a bright flash of light. The energy blasted by the colossus and smashed into the walls behind it, burning holes deep into them.

At the same time, the entire metallic blade-like hand shattered and turned into the dust of metal, and red and black pulsing lines of poison and curses spread through its entire metallic skin.

'Phh, that was close.' The dragon breathed out in relief as his material wasn't destroyed.

The ground kept shaking as the metal monster dashed straight toward the dragon, the ground cracking under its massive feet, each step sounding like the pounding of bells.

It bent its legs and leapt at the dragon, its remaining blade shining in silvery, metallic light.

Vesuvius flapped his wings as he rolled to the side, the world around him turning into a blurry mess, moving in slow-motion.

The remaining metal blade smashed straight into the ground below his former position, and the shockwave opened deep, black fissures. The wind from the blade washed over the dragon, pushing back his clouds of smoke.

The dragon's eyes lit up, two magic circuits spinning in his pupil. His horns flared to life, mana vibrating and pulsing around them.

At once, incredible force descended on the giant. Its body squealed and creaked. The winds gushed and pressed against it, the dragon's domain of metal and wind pressing and crushing the metallic monstrosity.

It froze in its steps, sinking into the stone like a sinking ship. Vesuviuses eyes shone with greed as he watched the mass of shiny, steel-looking metal contort and deform.

The giant tried to move, its arm slowly raising as if trying to reach the dragon.

The circuits spinning in the dragon's pupils pulsed one last time and burst into golden light. The force amplified even more, and incredible force smashed against the giant, its body freezing.

'The wyrm is working hard. They are, for now, only on these basic spells, but they have already added new tools to my repertoire. Even this trick is from them.'
