Chapter 1169 - Quarter-Finals (5)
With both trainers calling for their respective moves, their pokemons charged up their moves and blasted at each other.
The Scald and Hydro Pump shot through the space tearing through the air with destructive force, as the two moves collided, a sizzling sound filled the whole stadium as the scalding hot stream of water met with the destructive cold jet of water.
As both collided in the middle, it created a loud boom but it looks like no side had the upper hand, while Kingdra did use a more powerful water-type move, Dragalge is a better special attacker not because Dragalges are better special attackers, no, Dragalge is able to push back because of the training he went under Julian
One department where Dragalges are better than Kingdras is their special defense, Kingdras are all-rounders meaning they don't lack in any aspect but they are not the best at any either.
Julian also has to be careful while he battles, even though he is confident in his Dragalge, he cannot allow Dragalge to take any physical damage from Kingdra as this Kingdra is an elite level pokemon as well and it is several levels above Dragalge.
Remo has been preparing for this battle for years and he worked his ass off to level up his pokemons so they could take on the elite four whenever wherever, Julian's Dragalge is clearly under-leveled here and so are his other pokemons, he didn't have much time to advance his pokemon's level to advance level but it also doesn't mean his pokemons can't defeat elite level pokemons.
The first round between Florges and Haxorus was the proof, Haxorus is an elite level pokemon while Florges is still not to a level that should be considered an elite level by normal standards but none of Julian's pokemons are normal so they can easily take on pokemons who are bigger, stronger, and faster than them.
As the two moves struggled to push each other and formed a stalemate right in the middle of the battlefield, Kingdra started to get frustrated because it could not take down a weaker pokemon with a Hydro Pump.
Kingdra then suddenly started to put more power behind its Hydro Pump which started to push the Scald behind.
Julian "Use more power and concentrate it into a small surface area"
Julian ordered and Dragalge also blasted out the Scald with much energy but also pressured the scald to become smaller in size but the energy behind it increased a lot.
Since all the power of the Scald was being concentrated into a slim stream of water, it was pressurized causing it to have more piercing power.
As soon as the thin stream of Scald hit the massive Hydro Pump, it went right through it and hit Kingdra in the head sending it shooting through the air and out of the battlefield.
No one expected this at all, they never thought that a thin stream of Scald could pierce through the Hydro Pump and send the Kingdra flying.
Remo is shocked, the crowd is shocked, the announcer is shocked, there was dead silence for a second before they all started bursting with enthusiasm.
The referee rushed towards Kingdra to check on it and realized that it got knocked out, there was also a bruise right between its eye because of the pressurized Scald.
Remo also checked on his Kingdra because he saw how his Kingdra was shot out of the battlefield, it was very clear to the naked eye that it was hit very hard. When he saw the bruise between Kingdra's eyes he knew what happened.
From his point of view, he couldn't tell what happened, all he saw was Kingdra using its Hydro Pump but then it was sent flying.
Remo started to feel frustrated because of this, he thought he was going to win this battle, he had worked so hard but everything is coming crashing down because of just one trainer that decided to participate in this year's league.
He started to get angry, he needed to win and he decided he will not back down now, he needs to bring out the big gun.
He sent Kingdra back to its Pokeball and took his position on the battlefield again.
He took out a Pokeball and sent out his ace pokemon.
The pokemon that entered the battlefield is a Garchomp, when Julian looked at this Garchomp, he was surprised, this is clearly a champion-level pokemon, the aura around it is clearly very strong.
Even if Julian wanted to win this with Dragalge, he might not win it, a champion-level pokemon is something Dragalge can't handle right now, he decided to stick with Dragalge but if things don't go right, Julian will switch his pokemon.
As soon as the Garchomp entered the battlefield, the feel around the battlefield changed as Garchomp's aura caused everything to tense up.
Dragalge also felt the pressure on him, this is the first time he has encountered a pokemon who emitted such pressure outside Julian's pokemon team.
Though he was tense, he was also very excited for this battle, this battle will push him to his limits.
Julian also didn't expect to see a Champion-level pokemon so he was also a little excited.
