Book 5: Chapter 46:2: Re:Lifer Tohsaka Rin, Part 2
“Do you have to get so worked up? Isn’t it normal for a Master to have a Command Spell? While in the role of a Servant, I’ll have a strong resistance to Command Spells as an association member. Although I cannot completely ignore them, it would take three Command Spells to compel me to do something. Of course, I trust Sirin won’t misuse it.”
“So, what exactly is a Command Spell, and what are Masters and Servants?” Still confused, Sirin felt left out, as she could not understand what the two were talking about.
Mo Qingtong would sneer if she knew Sirin’s thoughts. You are already the Master and have three Command Spells. What is there to be dissatisfied with? Even if the Command Spells might not be very effective, they should still work for some small requests.
Furthermore, if Mo Qingtong recalled right, the priest named Kotomine Risei had countless Command Spells.
[TL Note: Kotomine Risei serves as the overseer of the Third Holy Grail War and Fourth Holy Grail War of Fate/Zero. Here is more information about him: /wiki/Risei_Kotomine.]
“To put it simply, the relationship between a Master and a Servant is a master-servant relationship. A Command Spell is like the Master’s absolute command over the Servant, and there are three chances of this. However, as Ah Heng said, the Command Spell probably wouldn’t have much control over him. Even using three together could not force him to do certain things, like committing suicide. The Command Spells are extremely important. They can compel the Heroic Spirit to retreat, so don’t squander them.”
Mo Qingtong did her best to explain the Command Spells while emphasizing how they helped a Servant, trying to divert Sirin from the compulsion aspect of it.
“So, a Master can issue three absolute commands to a Servant, no matter what the commands are?”
Chen Heng noticed a shift in Sirin’s gaze once she understood the meaning of Master, Servant, and Command Spells. It was akin to a predator eyeing prey. Wait, prey?
“What’s with that look, Sirin? You should know the Command Spell isn’t to be trifled with. As an association member, I’m highly resistant to it. I hope you’re not planning any peculiar pranks. If you dare, I’ll spank you when we return!”
Assuming Sirin might use the Command Spell for mischief, Chen Heng gave her a light warning but did not dwell on it any further.
“Relax, Elder Brother. I would never use something so important for a prank!” Good steel should be used on the blade of the weapon. This is such a good thing; wasting it on a prank is simply wasting a treasure!
Sirin glanced at the listing for the omnipotent Command Spell that went for 100 points each in the association’s store, then at Chen Heng, with no intention of changing her plan. Right now, she felt the most important thing was to figure out how to get points. She currently had only 110 points after checking in for two days.
Elder Brother probably won’t mind giving me an allowance, right? One thousand points should be enough. Sirin eyed Chen Heng’s points.
If Chen Heng knew about Sirin’s plan, he would teach her a lesson. One thousand points? Ten Command Spells? Even if you are prodigal, there are better ways to squander wealth. After all, you—Sirin—are just worth 2,000 points. Unfortunately, he did not know what Sirin was thinking.
Perhaps he would foresee her scheme with his Absolute Precognition ability once they reached the Type-Moon world. If that happened…
Relieved at Sirin’s reassurance, Chen Heng relaxed. However, Mo Qingtong didn’t share his comfort.
Maybe it was a woman’s intuition, but she feared Sirin would use the Command Spell for something far worse than a prank. If Mo Qingtong held such power over Chen Heng…
No! No! She couldn’t bear the thought. What if Ah Heng returns, completely wrapped around Sirin’s finger?
Mo Qingtong now prayed hard that it would be the world of her chat group’s member. That way, she could participate and would not be in a passive position.
Furthermore, Luo Li could come too. Although Luo Li and Mo Qingtong did not see eye to eye, she trusted Luo Li’s ability because of this.
After all, sometimes enemies understood you better than yourself. Luo Li’s time ability was truly formidable. Even if she had exploded her time crystal, the Primal Chaos Bell gifted by Chen Heng’s ancestor added immense defense and synergized with her time ability, furthering Mo Qingtong’s apprehension and increasing the pressure on Mo Qingtong.
Moreover, Luo Li was also a Re:Life Chat Group member and possessed a high-ranking system.
Honestly speaking, Mo Qingtong suspected that Luo Li was actually the true main character. She alone had everything: a system, a chat group, and even a powerful time ability.
Mo Qingtong had read the novel Re:Life Chat Group, gifted to her and Luo Li by Chen Heng during their vacation. I am supposed to be the main character, so why are all the best things happening to Luo Li? This left Mo Qingtong utterly bewildered.
“Alright, Qingtong, Elder Sister Raven, I’m about to start the mission with Sirin.” After giving Sirin a brief overview of the concepts of Master, Servant, and Command Spell, Chen Heng announced their departure.
He didn’t worry about the mission’s success—it was highly likely they’d succeed.
Chen Heng, Yakumo Yukari, and Doctor Roman’s primary concern was summoning Merlin, not the mission.
Not that Chen Heng looked down on the Type-Moon worlds’ combat prowess. However, Servants were merely that, not the real deal, and their strength was limited.
As an association member, even as a Servant, Chen Heng’s abilities would barely be diminished.
Plus, he had Yakumo Yukari—an experienced being who had lived for thousands of years. He felt assured with her at the helm; practically nothing could go wrong.
Actually, Doctor Roman’s participation surprised Chen Heng, as he had expected Skadi.
“You’re leaving already?” Mo Qingtong said in surprise. She knew Chen Heng would depart soon but hadn’t anticipated it happening immediately.
“The main reason for this mission isn’t that small amount of points. I aim to summon someone from our association group to give him a sound thrashing. Finding a suitable world for summoning hasn’t been an easy task, as he could be considered a Heroic Spirit.”
