Book 5: Chapter 33:1: Another Poké Ball Victim, Part 1
Chen Heng thought for a while. I cannot use the Herrscher Core to become a Herrscher myself. If I become a Herrscher, my ancestor will flay my skin. I don’t get any benefits at all.
“You are going too far. This is inhuman!”
“You…are not human, right?”
“…This is just the most suitable phrasing I found in the human language repository for the current situation.”
“Honkai God, I heard you are omniscient and omnipotent. Is that right?” Chen Heng’s eyes lit up as he thought of something.
“Right now, I’m not omnipotent, but I can be barely considered omniscient. After all, this is just a portion of my power, so it is limited.”
“That’s great. You’ll be our Google, then. Come, come, come. This is the ball I prepared for you. Quickly come in.” Chen Heng took out an Ultra Ball and waved it at the little white figure.
Chen Heng had purchased two new Poké Balls from the association’s store. One was the Ultra Ball in his hand. After all, this was the Honkai God; even if it was just a portion of the true Honkai God, he should treat it better. That was why he bought the Ultra Ball. If he could not capture the little white figure, he could return it. This was worth 800 points.
The other ball, which was in his spatial storage, was a Heavy Ball, the same as Fafnir’s. He had prepared it for Bella, as he felt Sirin would be reluctant to leave Bella behind.
“What is that?” Although the little white figure did not know what Chen Heng held, it could sense deep malice, even if it did not know where the malice came from.
“This is an extremely wondrous tool, able to store non-human living beings. That way, I can bring you out. Aren’t you God? Why don’t you know about this insignificant detail?”
“Humph! Don’t think I don’t know you are not of this world. How can I know about the things you take out?”
“This is quite something. How did you know I’m not from this world?”
“Because I don’t know about you. That’s how I know you are not from this world. It’s no exaggeration to say that it would be impossible for me to know nothing of you if you were someone from this world.”
“Right, right. You are incredible. So, are you coming in or not? If you don’t come in, I’ll stab you to death with a sword. Furthermore, I can bring you out after you come in. Are you interested in personally destroying humanity or experiencing human life? There’s only this one chance. If you don’t agree, just say bye-bye to the world.”
After speaking, Chen Heng immediately tossed the Ultra Ball at the Honkai God’s consciousness, as he knew this was his best chance to capture the Honkai God’s consciousness into the Poké Ball.
When the Honkai God said he was not from this world, he finally took the Honkai God seriously. Then, he used his Absolute Precognition to observe dozens of possible futures within the next one second. Finally, he realized his best chance to capture the Honkai God’s consciousness was when it was confused—with an 80-percent probability of success.
Indeed, perhaps because the little white figure wanted to protect itself (fearing death in all likelihood), felt some interest in what Chen Heng said, or just wanted to escape this darn seal, the Poké Ball successfully captured it. Of course, the Poké Ball being an Ultra Ball was a factor.
The Poké Balls from the association’s store were set to capture non-human living beings. As long as this consciousness body was not human, it was within the scope of the Poké Ball’s target.
After Chen Heng took back the Poké Ball, the white, blank mental space shattered. Then he and Sirin returned to the dilapidated altar.
“We came out just like that? Elder Brother, be honest with me. That Poké Ball is what Fafnir and Elder Sister Jeanne d’Arc stay in, right? I recall this thing was specifically used for taming pets, right?” Sirin had seen this ball previously, and Jeanne d’Arc hid nothing from Sirin, telling her everything.
“That’s right. This thing can capture any non-human living being,” Chen Heng openly admitted. He had not lied to any human, only a “ghost.”
“All non-human living beings? Elder Brother, don’t tell me Herrschers fall under that category?” Sirin silently moved away after Chen Heng explained the functions of the Poké Ball.
“Younger Sister, your little head contains an extremely intelligent brain. Why didn’t I think of that?” Chen Heng slapped his forehead, realizing Sirin was right. Herrschers were not human. Otherwise, they could not survive in a vacuum environment with such ease. That meant a Poké Ball could capture Herrschers.
“Elder Brother, I treat you as my elder brother, but you want to make me a pet? I misjudged you!” Although Sirin said that, she did not move farther away from Chen Heng. Rather, her right hand silently and mischievously reached for the soft flesh around Chen Heng’s waist.
“Sirin, what normally goes on in your little head? Am I such a person?” Chen Heng smacked away Sirin’s evil hand, which was reaching for his waist. Then he ruthlessly pinched her cheeks.
“Is that so? When we were in your world, you made a world consciousness that looked mostly like me call you father. Now, you turned a miniature version of me into a pet. I now wonder if Elder Brother has a fetish.” Sirin struggled free of Chen Heng’s hands and looked at him with disdain.
“…” When Sirin put it this way, even Chen Heng felt he was a pervert. Upon further consideration, there was nothing wrong with her analysis.
“That’s not right. Actually, I was preparing to use the Honkai God’s consciousness as a thank-you gift for Fu Hua, so we cannot consider this my pet.” Chen Heng tossed the Ultra Ball in the air, toying with it as he explained to Sirin.
“Who is Fu Hua? Elder Brother, you got another woman outside again!”
Sirin used her Herrscher powers to hover slightly higher than Chen Heng. Then she started pinching Chen Heng’s cheeks in revenge for his pinching hers. He did not resist, letting her do as she pleased. She was gentle, and it felt like a massage.
“How do you think your elder brother came to this world? It’s because there’s an association member in this world, Fu Hua.”
“Why don’t we keep it? Why give it to someone else?”
“Why should we keep it? If you want to play, there’s a higher-grade world consciousness at home to provide you with entertainment. If you say it is pretty, it is not as pretty as my little Sirin. Furthermore, after we return to our world, a portion of the Honkai God would be as good as crippled. It would be impossible for it to be omnipotent, much less omniscient. It might as well remain in this world and be useful.”
“This Poké Ball is expensive, right? It looks more premium than Elder Sister Jeanne d’Arc’s Poké Ball.”
“It is very expensive. That’s why I cannot just give it to Fu Hua for nothing. No matter what, I have to get back some of my initial investment. Furthermore, this Poké Ball is bound to me and cannot be transferred. However, I can rent it to her. As for how Fu Hua uses it, that’s her business. Wait for a while. I’ll inform her.”
