Chapter 90: Gathering Ingredients for Potions
Stark left the reception room with the white-haired woman still inside, leaving her to wonder who that boy was as he knew her name.
Frankly, Stark didn't care enough to show off or not do it, if he was asked something, he would just answer accordingly, which was something Lana would probably tell him to hide.
Stark immediately went to the market section of the trading association, then guided himself to the 'boost items' part of it.
Standing on luxurious displays stood many items.
...
[Item:] Skill Level Candy (lv1-10)
[Tier:] Epic
[Quality:] Perfect
[Perk:] Each time you consume a candy, the level of the skill you choose will increase by one, note that it only works on lv1-10 skills.
[Price:] 500,000 rher coins.
...
There were also other variants of this candy (which was already expensive as fuck) but these candies were just for skills with greater skill limits, for example it wouldn't work for level 10-15, so he would need to buy the next variant.
Basically, it was something only rich people could afford, he wasn't interested.
Instead... what interested him was placed in another hall, and there was a wooden sign next to it that displayed the words he wanted to read: 'breakthrough stones'.
The halls were pretty empty, a big reason why he loved to come during early mornings.
And only a few seconds later, he found the item he wanted as it was the first one that was placed on the right.
It was a rune with the word 'iron' written on some sort of small magic circle in the middle, and a small aura emanated from it.
...
[Item:] Breakthrough Stone (Iron-Level)
[Tier:] Rare
[Quality:] Normal
[Perk:] Increases your skill level from 10 to 15 when you meet the conditions to do so.
[Price:] 1.2 million rher coins
...
"Holy shit," Stark let out, resulting in some eyes falling on him, "Who decided to make these things so expensive...?"
This would take around half of what he had gotten selling all the items from the secret rift.
'Oh well... no other way,' he took the stone from the display, then had to go to a screen right at the entrance of the market to scan the item and then buy it using his card (he could of course go to a real receptionist to buy it but it was faster like that).
He stored the [Breakthrough Stone] inside of his [Spatial Inventory] and then left the trading association.
They didn't have any ingredients related to Alchemists in there as it was probably another building that held all of it, this building was the one for general purposes, but all classes (except for Domination) should have buildings of their own.
It really did seem like Alchemist and Domination were the classes with the least amount of items and equipment related to them because of how unknown the latter was, while the former is just about making potions, so not much beside armor and rings.
Your level of alchemy is based on your level and skill level, so an equipment piece couldn't increase that (some were able to but they were rare and expensive).
Passing through the crowded streets of classifiers excitedly talking about the bunny-masked man, Stark reached his other destination:
"Alchemist All-in-One Association", it was another giant building, not quite as big as the trading association one, but still fairly big and enough to accommodate everything that is needed.
Inside the alchemist association building was located a place to sell your ingredients, as well as an auction house for alchemists to try and acquire rare items to create new potions/existing ones.
But what he was interested in was... the first section.
[Beginner Alchemist Section]
He guessed that this was it since he had just acquired this class, and so he entered it without hesitation.
A massive screen greeted him.
[Welcome, new alchemist, please pick your starting ingredients, we recommend you to take enough for the beginning level potions as you need to get used to crafting!]
Almost seemed like a tutorial, but he ignored it and began looking for what he wanted.
While walking toward the ingredients section, Stark realized that this wasn't all the beginner section had to offer.
There were also 'Potion Recipe Scrolls', which worked just like skill scrolls except it was to unlock a potion as an alchemist.
Of course, as to not make it too overpowered, many requested a minimal alchemist level to use, much like items.
...
[Name:] Potion of Damage
[Perk:] Will deal 5000 damage to an opponent when throwing it on them
[Required level:] 5
[Price:] 450,000
...
[Name:] Fly Potion
[Perk:] Can fly with perfect control for one minute
[Required level:] 8
[Price:] 792,000
...
This was only the beginner section, but there were some rather interesting potions, Stark could only imagine what would be inside the middle section or even high tier one.
And what about potion recipe scrolls at the top section, they could probably deal hundreds of thousands of damage with one bottle (although the materials would be expensive and very hard to find).
This was a very interesting class.
He decided not to stare too much as the thought of buying a potion was already on his mind even though he hadn't even tried to check if it merged well with domination.
[Beginner Ingredients]
On hundreds upon hundreds of displays stood many ingredients that beginners could use to begin their alchemist life, they were rather cheap compared to the rest, which was good.
Many people around Stark were also busy inspecting ingredients and checking theur panels to see what they needed, and so he did the same.
'Ogre Ear... Wolf Teeth... Flowers...'
It didn't take long for him to find everything he needed for his three potions, and every time he took an item from a display, another one would immediately reappear like some sort of generator.
The ingredients when bought individually weren't much of an issue, but it was when he bought many at once that it became visible his wallet was taking a hit.
...
[Ingredient:] Ogre Ear
[Price:] 1200 rher coins
...
[Ingredient:] Wolf Teeth
[Price:] 1360 rher coins
...
[Ingredient:] Strength Flower
[Price:] 5700 rher coins
...
He took enough ingredients to make 10 of each potions, just to test them out, then left the 'Alchemist Association'.
'Very useful place, I'll need to come back,' Stark smiled as he left.
"Oh~ we got a newbie alchemist it seems!" but as he left, he heard a voice behind him, coming from near the entrance of the building.
"Ah shit, here we go again," he shrugged, expecting another group of classifiers trying to cause problems.
But this time, he was wrong.
