Chapter 379: Amethyst Maiden
Chapter 379: Amethyst Maiden
Perfect Realm Domination. When the caster masters the skill, they create a world that's completely their own. Unlike the regular Realm Domination, the Perfect Realm Domination cannot be overpowered by another cast of the skill.
It is an entire realm filled with real people, real places, and real set of rules. The caster has the absolute control over what happens in the realm, how the simple natural aspects of the world we know works.
The only way to deactivate it is when the caster dies or deactivate it themselves, and in this case, they have to find Sayu and defeat her. After the woman's cast of the skill, everything became a race against time.
Since Sayu had complete control over her realm, she can alter anything in the world. This takes massive amount of magic that it is forbidden to be used. Casting the spell alone will deplete the magic of the caster, killing them.
How Sayu was keeping this up was beyond anyone's imagination. Only people with limitless reserve for their mana would be able to keep this up. A man who stores mana for a decade would finish their reserves just by the three seconds after activating the skill.
"We're done for," Lance chuckled in hopelessness.
"Lance, wake up!" Elliot yelled, slapping his friend across the face.
"God, ouch!" Lance groaned. His face was turned to the side after how hard Elliot's slap was. He touched his reddened face and looked at his friends. "What happened?"
"Trying hypnotism again," Ed chuckled. "Now, I bet this is the same for this Realm Domination."
"What do you mean?" Elliot asked. "How do you say so?"
Ed raised his sword, showing them the new feature on it. It was a closed eye in the middle of the blade of the sword, "This eye reacts to mana. I saw it open after the Armageddon showed up."
"You mean that eye has always been there?" Connor asked and walked closer to the eye to take a good look. "This looks so sick."
"It had itself half open in the presence of the Armageddon," Connor said. "After Irus showed up with a revived Elliot, it was fully opened. After we left Avancia, it closed."
"So, it's reactive to mana?" Elliot guessed, making Ed nod at him.
"Yes, I hypothesize it too," Ed said. "The Armageddon has so much mana, that it activated the Eye of Chaos, as it says in my Console. A passive skill that reacts to mana and its amount. When there's a large amount of mana, the eye appears, when there is huge amount of mana, it slolwy opens until a mana such as Irus's shows where the eye fully opens."
"So?" Elliot asked. "What's the point of telling us that?"
"It means that this is not a Perfect Realm Domination," Ed explained. "If it was, the eye should've gouged itself out. Lance said that this skill requires great amounts of mana. The eye only appears. This is not it."
Lance nodded in understanding. "What do you think we should do now?"
Ed smirked and slammed his sword in the ground, piercing the soil that suspiciously created a hard clank. When he heard the sound, Ed chuckled and let he dark purple aura from his arm seeth into the sword. "Nullify."
In an instant, like a sword cutting through a thin fabric, the world of Sayu vanished. The woman appeared in front of her with her scaled form. She gasped after the group escaped her spell.
"Hmm," Ed hummed. "That was a good illusion. If it wasn't for the fact that my Eye of Chaos wasn't reactive to it, we wouldn't have known."
"She can fool everything," Lance muttered. "From the aura, to everything else. Her illusions are perfect."
Sayu groaned after their words. She raised her scaled hand with the sharp, long nails and shot dark green orbs at them.
Ed tilted his sword and slashed it forward, creating a diagonal slash that blocked all the green orbs from the woman. He then pushed himslef off of the ground to rise up to reach Sayu's level.
With a swift back of his sword, he drew blood from the woman. He cut her right arm, successfully slashing his sword with short rapid movements to dice the amputated flesh.
"No!" Sayu yelled. She pointed her other hand at Ed. The green orb appeared again, but this time it was bigger. "Greenly Ignition"
Before she could finish her cast, Ed had already cut her only arm off. Just like what he did to the other, he slashed his sword to cut the arm into thin dice shapes. Sayu saw how her body was getting torn into bits one by one, that she could only fall to the ground with a loud painful thud.
"You're able to make the Eye of Chaos appear," Ed said. "I have to give you credit and say that."
"It's not only appearing anymore," Sayu chuckled. She pursed her lips to point the sword, which Ed followed. The man's eyes widened after seeing the Eye of Chaos was fully activated. "You're near her."
Ed raised his head and then felt the vast amount of mana he has ever felt in his life. Just when he thought that Irus had a great reserve for mana, he sees this.
The Amethyst Maiden radiated with its bright purple light. The light from the Maiden brought brightness to the darkened basement. It was makint everyone feel small by how great the aura coming from it was.
In Ed's mind alone, he was comparing it to Irus's. He thought he has found the sea of mana, but now, right in front of him was an entire ocean. It was vast, endless, and fierce. It was calm, but it was raging. Light but dark. Good but evil.
"By the power of the Mother," Sayu casted. She spun and ran to where the Amethyst Maiden was. She stepped in front of the large mineral statue and casted, "Give me your power to punish the evil in front of me!"
