Chapter 360: Guardian of the North
Chapter 360: Guardian of the North
Elliot and Irus were the center of attention as they sat in the dining area of the inn. The establishment was filled with members from Elliot's guild, including the commanders of the Twilight War.
They were made to sit in front of the room while the others gathered around them, ready to ask questions. It was silent for a few minutes until one of them finally decided to break the silence.
"Are you gonna ask me anything or what?" Irus asked, quirking his brow up while crossing his arms and legs. The man was confident enough to act like so since he was capable of defeating everyone in the room all at once.
"I have plans with mama, about a hundred years more, so if you could please hurry it up"
"How did you end up in Elliot's possession?" Lance blurted out. His eyes widened, he himself not expecting to say the words. "I mean, how did you get inside him like as a possession? Like, how did you possess him?"
"I got your question on the first try," Iris deadpanned. He looked at Elliot and quirked his brow up.
'Do you want me to lie?'
Elliot's eyes widened. He looked around him, but they were looking at Irus expectantly. He looked back at the man and tried to talk in his head, 'Can you do that?'
'Easy,' Irus nodded with his eyebrows. He turned to the crowd and released his legs.
"You see, I happen to be locked in a chest in one of the stadium's rooms," Irus lied. The confidence in his voice and aura didn't falter, making Elliot almost sigh in relief. "When Jameson and Katarina brought me to the room, and Polshck was unlocking the chamber, my Twilight Wings form lit up in the chest, garnering both their attention."
The Sin's eyes found themselves in the two he mentioned earlier. They were standing in the corner, with slight surprised faces. Irus gave them a look, making them understand right away.
"Katarina, we haven't talked about this, but what happened in that room" Jameson trailed off, letting Irus continue to fabricate his lies. "It was an accident, okay? I didn't mean it."
"What accident?" Katarina quirked her brow up and crossed her arms. "All I could remember was that Elliot's body glowed, it levitated and then was dropped to the ground. The there was a black cloud that hovered over him for almost an hour."
"About the kiss," Jameson whispered. "You don't remember? When the cloud laughed loudly and we held hands. I accidentally kissed you."
"You held my neck and pulled me in," Katarina contorted her face in confusion. "Accident?"
"I was scared, okay?" Jameson groaned. His face became red as he looked away in embarrassment. "I didn't know what to do"
"So, you ended up kissing me?" Katarina smirked. "Wow, I sure hope you don't get scared with someone else."
Jameson immediately turned his gaze back at the girl who was now blushing lightly. "W-What do you mean?"
"It means what it means," Katarina shut the topic down. There was a wide smile in Jameson's lips while he returned his attention to Irus who was completing his lies.
"When I awoke, I gave Elliot the power to revive himself," Irus said. "Though it took some time, and I had to conceal my power. I didn't have a host just yet, and when my presence catches the Sins' attention, we would all be done for."
"How did you find Elliot as your host?" Frederick was the one who asked this time. "He's just a boy. Surely he had grown, but there are still more stronger people out there. You were in the middle of a gathering of the strongest Adventurers in the kingdom."
"Oh, I'm sorry. That was the strongest?" Irus laughed. "You are very humorous, Mr. Flames, but my host isn't just because they are powerful. I needed a host who was capable, and this boy is very capable. While I gathered my magic to manifest a body, he provided me with his own. That's something that none of you could ever do."
"And what about the Blessing?" Lance raised the question. "You said I have a fake Blessing. What does that entail?"
"The Bless will disappear," Irus replied simply. "I felt an unstable rage in Hell. Malice just might knew that the Blessings were lies. It's funny how she's throwing everything right now."
"You can feel that?" Connor gasped, pushing from the back and making his way to the front. "That's insane."
"My body feels everything in all Six Realms," Irus replied. "Including the reason why the Sins were weak. They lost almost all of their power, and I know where those are."
"Distributed across all Five Palaces," Elliot whispered. "The Five Palaces obtained the powers of the Sins, am I right?"
"Indeed," Irus nodded and grinned. "The Abyssal Nebula along with the powers of the Deathly Sins versus the Eternals with the Blessings. This is getting interesting. Any more questions?"
The door opened and everyone turned their heads to the person who came inside. It was a large muscled woman with a tribal outfit and tattoos decorating her entire body.
Her aura was intimidating enough to make even Johnson, Galaxia, Elizabeth, and even Jester gulp in fear. Her tiger-like eyes roamed the room, as if they were judging everyone she passed through.
"I do," she spoke, making everyone page their way while she walked forward. "My name is Gasha. I am the Guardian of the North, and I'm here to ask you what will you do after this?"
The Guardian of the North was the Guardian with the longest reign. Regarded as the Lioness of the Cold, Gasha had been in Guardianship for almost a decade and a half. Her brute strength was enough to earn her the title, and no one knows what affinity she uses.
Albeit seemingly always angry, the Guardian was a gentle giant. She cared a lot for the forest and the tribes of the North, even dedicating her life to their preservation and their protection.
All these aspects made Gasha the only Guardian who was in post for more than a decade. Usually, after ten years, the Guardians would retire. They would either build their own guilds, join one, or even live peacefully since their wage will not be lost even if they retire.
The room fell silent after Gasha's statement. Irus sat properly and scrunched his face, "Are you like, asking me out?"
"I am asking you if you will destroy this kingdom, and this Realm after you're done with this petty question and answer bit," Gasha clarified.
Irus formed an O with his mouth and shrugged, "I don't know. It depends on how you humans act."
Gasha grabbed her axe and pointed it at Irus. She was looking at him without any fear in her eyes, only rage. "Then I will have to stop you right there."
"No, wait!" Elliot stood in front of them, covering Irus behind him. "Miss Gasha, he didn't mean any of that. Irus is a good man. He will create a small Realm for himself and he will live there peacefully."
"That or I could just conquer one," Irus smirked. "Who knows? Maybe this one?"
An explosive pop came out from Gasha's aura and the entire inn exploded. Everyone gasped and covered themselves while the aura from Gasha continued.
"I will kill you, Sin!"
