Chapter 165 - Subordinates
"I think there's a misunderstanding here, Ellena," Aaron whispered to her as Ellena was flustered the moment the slaves said it to her.
Ellena closed her eyes as she hated everything she said. She gritted her teeth and grunted.
"How could you understand it that way?" she asked.
However, as she said that, Rosellete was already over the roof. She was overly excited as she thought that the slaves would be her colleagues, as she also expected that Ellena couldn't resist submission.
Well, she thought that it was the reason she was accepted onto her side. But in reality, Ellena couldn't resist Rosellete's insistent words.
"Master! You have to accept them!" Rosellete exclaimed in an excited tone.
Ellena caressed her temple. "Why did you think that I wanted you to be servants? It's not like that. I thought of having responsibility for you girls."
"But isn't that what a master is? You are not their sisters and you aren't related to them." Selena said.
"Well, you could say that, but we saved them. So we still have a responsibility to be sure that our efforts won't be futile."
Selena nodded. "You are right there."
The slaves looked at Ellena with anticipating eyes. They were still hoping that Ellena would accept them as her servants. However, their reason was that they thought that was the only way they could pay Ellena for her kindness.
Aaron thought of it deeply. Indeed, people in this world don't forget their debts. Especially when they were at death's door before.
'Ellena and others did save them. But why is Ellena the only recognized by these people?' Aaron wondered as the slaves' actions were still a bit off for him.
Though he wasn't doubting them, he wanted to study their actions and how they resulted in that way.
Was it because of Ellena's charisma? Or she was the one who first came to their side.
'By the way, Cules looks excited guarding the rear.'
Aaron looked at Cules, who was happily roaming their rear. It was his first time being free in this way in the first place. Just after he grew this large, he never had a chance to try himself.
"Ellena, I think there's nothing wrong with making them your servants. Or if you prefer, you can take them as your subordinates but the responsibility is still there." Aaron suggested.
Aaron knows that Ellena can't resist responding. Even if they couldn't be accepted as servants, Aaron thought that they could be Ellena's subordinates. Well, his reason was that the girls wanted to learn how to fight.
If this comes this way, he might try to give them techniques, but it will take time since they need to build up their foundations.
Also, Ellena didn't think that the idea was a problem. She has so much money that she herself can't imagine using it all. Since it had come this way, maybe accepting them under her wasn't bad.
"Okay. I accept you all under me, but not as servants. I want you all to be my subordinates. Though you all are a total of 36, I think I can manage you all."
'Now this is what the leader Ellena was.'
It was also Aaron's idea. If Ellena had people under her, she could control things easily, such as rumors and activities. If the girls prove themselves to be helpful, their plan will progress faster than the initial pace.
The girls were all overjoyed. Tears formed once again, but before they could cry again, all of them bowed once again.
"Thank you, Master!"
Ellena still grunted. The 'master' calling was still not suitable for her. It was just Rosellete's case that she could endure, but for plenty of people, she hadn't thought of it being this way.
It's too overbearing for herself.
'It wasn't a problem. Ellena's charismatic self is so unfathomable that even Selena, who was jealous of her in the past, became her friend. I even forgot that Selena was a previously acting rival to Ellena.' Aaron thought.
But there was something that bothered them. In particular, Thalia, who was aware that these slaves didn't choose to become this way.
"How about your past lives? You don't want to go back to your previous life?" she asked.
All of the girls just looked at each other. They were all aware that their lives were still in debt to Ellena, and they couldn't even think of their past lives. But now that Thalia asked it, they can't think of not answering it.
"Our previous lives are now futile. We still have our family, but this is the path I want to walk down, " one answered.
As she said it, everyone agreed with her. There were some who were alone in life, and also some had a family. But they decided to visit their families once and come back to Ellena's side as her subordinates.
"If you are thinking of going back to your family, I won't tie you to my troubles," Ellena said, but everyone just shook their heads.
"We already had our minds fixed. We want to follow you, Master."
Ellena groaned. "Can we think of a better way to call me? I don't want to be called 'master.'"
"But why does Miss Rosellete call you 'master'?"
It was a quite bold way of asking. When she noticed it, she immediately silenced herself.
"Well, Rosellete insisted on calling me that way. But if you want to call me that way too, I won't decline it."
They all gleamed. The feeling of acceptance ran through their veins and their admiration of Ellena became stronger. They were now tied to Ellena, the result of her charisma.
"Thank you, Master!"
"Now, now. Let's go back to Phlabian. You all had to clean yourselves, and I think it would be useless to report this to the city. I'll just ask someone in the authorities that we found and wiped out a bandit hideout."
"If you don't mind, can we ask who it was, Master?" one asked.
They were all reckless, actually. They wanted to follow Ellena without even knowing her identity. But what can they do? They were all charmed by Ellena's charisma, which resulted in them this way. The feeling of too much indebtedness to Ellena.
"Well, I am also from a noble family. But I am thinking of showing myself to you now since I hope that I can trust you."
Aaron was agitated at first. What if they betrayed her? But it was removed immediately. Ellena's top enemies already knew who she was, and Ellena was just hiding her real identity from the public. After all, it was useless to hide her face from her subordinates.
When Ellena finally removed her mask, everyone turned to look at her silently.
"This is Master..."
