Chapter 79: Defeat
Chapter 79: Defeat
Let us go back in time...
While Dawn was trying to go to the west, a group of people was following him.
This group of people was the ones who were observing Dawn as if he were some lab rat to conclude an experiment on for the sake of doing it.
However, it wasn't as if they had any evil thoughts about Dawn or something. It was just that they really thought of Dawn as something or someone not worthy of anything.
It was natural for these people to think that way.
"Hmmm. Is that the goblin king we are supposed to hunt? That's a form that I haven't seen before." One man talked to the other as they ran.
Altogether, there were four men following Dawn as he moved from one spot to another.
"I don't think so. He's weak. I can take care of him easily."
One man spoke as he observed Dawn with much intensity.
Although this was the first time he saw Dawn, this wasn't the first time he saw a high-ranking goblin.
There were plenty of goblins that were stronger than Dawn that these group of people met.
Well, they wouldn't really know who is stronger unless they fought, but they were pretty sure of their assessment.
"Hmm. But his form is really interesting. So, what do we do? We have to meet with Boss and that bastard."
The man said as he opened his right hand to see the mark embedded in his palm. It was the mark of a red sword, the same one Red has on his palm.
"Hmmm. Princess' orders...What do we do?" One man asked as he remembered how they received the order that came down from Mahona.
Needless to say, these people were Warman that belongs to the same tribe as Boss and Red's tribe.
It was easy to deduce what they were doing here. They were also collecting monsters and bringing them to the north, where they gathered the monsters.
It was then that they received the orders from Mahona, and when they were about to go back, they were able to see Dawn, who had a form different from the rest of the goblins.
His conspicuous white skin was the fault of it. After all, there were no goblins that had that kind of skin.
"Hmmm. But, if ever that goblin is the king, doesn't that mean that if we kill him, our job will be done?" One of the men proposed an interesting theory.
If the goblin that they were looking at was really the king, then killing him now would lessen the time and efforts needed to do the job given to them.
That was something the group of men wants. After all, the king of goblins isn't a title that sounds powerful.
Goblins are known as weak creatures. And being a king of weaklings doesn't and shouldn't amount to much.
At least, that was what these men thought.
"So, should we do a quick job of him?" One of the men, the man who looked at the mark on his palm, said.
Although they were sure that Dawn wasn't their ordinary goblin, they were sure that they could take care of him.
After all, they could hide from Dawn while Dawn was trying his hardest to search for them.
Of course, they knew that Dawn was trying to search for them. That was also the reason why Dawn felt like he was being looked down on.
He was feeling the gazes of these men who were trying to pluck him up.
"Hmmm. That's it. I'll take a go at him then." The man who said that he could beat Dawn quickly spoke.
"Alright."
The men agreed with what he said and soon disappeared into the forest as they followed Dawn to where he was going.
They had various thoughts as they walked into the forest, but it all came down to one thing.
'This job will be easy.'
And with that light-hearted determination, they started their fight against the white goblin.
****
Shinggg!
"Nice to meet ya!!" The man shouted as he cut the air with his sword.
Some kind of power was covering his sword, and his speed was inhumane.
He was truly going for the kill as he commenced his surprise attack against the white goblin.
That was why he was sure that his sword would cut open the white goblin's skull and decorate the trees with his blood.
However...
Zhunggg.
"Hmmm. So you guys are the bastards looking at me." The white goblin spoke as he blocked the sword with his arm.
No...it wasn't really his arm, but some kind of light that covered his arm. It was Aura.
"Oho. So you know how to use some tricks. And you can even speak. What a treat!" The Warman spoke as he retreated a few steps back.
Warman was literally a man of war. Battles that are hard to win are something they sought just because it is hard to win.
They believe that a man who has won a battle of extreme difficulty is a man who could be considered as the greatest man existing under the sky.
And once they do win a battle of hardship, they would seek a battlefield once more.
That was how extreme the Warman was.
"So, you weren't alone in looking at me. Three, no, four with you, huh." The white goblin...Dawn said as he closed his eyes, trying to ascertain his enemies.
"Why aren't you attacking me with all of you? Do you think I'd be some weak goblin?"
Even though he felt some more presence in the area, only one appeared in front of Dawn.
It would be a form of arrogancy if ever the guy in front of Dawn was trying to see if he could win against Dawn.
However, Dawn knew better than that. After all, he could feel the power of the guy who is in front of him.
---On par...no, even better than me.
The guy in front of him was even stronger than Dawn. At least, for Dawn, who was in front of the guy, that was how he felt.
If there were something Dawn should be grateful for, that would be that he didn't know about his current self right now.
He didn't know what he could do. He didn't know how strong he was.
However, he somehow had a general knowledge of how strong he was.
That was why he was able to know that the guy in front was stronger than him.
---The guys with him are on par with him. This is...
Bad. Dawn thought as he glanced towards the place where the rest of the men were hiding.
They were standing on top of the trees, looking down at Dawn and the man who was trying to battle.
"Hey! Why the hell are you looking for others when I'm in front of you?! Huh?" The man brandished his sword arrogantly as he spoke.
He then bent his knees as he prepared himself to charge forward.
Some kind of power was covering his sword as he took a pose with it.
"You won't even be able to survive against me..."
Baaam!
A crack appeared on the ground as he pushed off with his strength!
"Don't be so arrogant! Trash!"
Swooosh!!
The leaves shook, and the ground quaked as the man disappeared and reappeared right behind Dawn!
His arms were already in swinging motion, and his sharp sword was aiming at Dawn's neck cleanly!
"Fucking weakling!!" The man shouted angrily.
Boom!
A destructive sound exploded out as the sword finished its arc. However, the result wasn't what the man expected.
"Kuhahahaha! Fast! So that's how you were able to follow me!"
With his knees bent to better his defenses, Dawn caught the sword shrouded with unknown power with his hands.
His hands were shining with Aura, and his blackish eyes were drawing the darkness of the day.
"Bastard!" The man shouted as he put some more power in the sword.
Crack!
A small crater appeared below Dawn's feet as the ground was caved in by his weight and the pressure coming from the man.
"Dieee!!"
The man couldn't believe that this goblin could keep up with his fast draw. After all, goblins are the weakest monsters alive in the world.
Having a goblin survive even a second longer in a fight against him was a shame for any Warman.
What's more, oil was added to his anger when he heard some laughter resounding out in the forest.
That was, without a doubt, his comrades that went with him.
However, Dawn was currently holding on while having a smile plastered on his face.
This fact made the man shiver.
It was obvious who was stronger between the two. It was the man, the Warman. After all, he was the one attacking.
And yet, why is this goblin having the look of someone having the best time of their life? The Warman couldn't understand it.
It was then.
As the man continued hearing the laughter resounding out, he decided to end it for real.
"You fucking white goblin!!"
The Insignia on his right palm shone red light, and his eyes turned red too.
The red light coming from his palm then transferred to the sword, and with it, a new and stronger pressure came down on Dawn.
"Red Sword!"
Shunggg!
The sword, which was blocked before, continued sliding down as if Dawn didn't even exist.
Slash!
The man felt the sword cut down the white goblin's flesh and bones. He was sure that the goblin was dead now.
Swossh!
His strike compressed the air, and the wind blew no longer as he spoke.
"Fucking bastard. Making me do all this work."
Blood dripped from his sword as he pulled it away from the white goblin's standing corpse.
It was the expected victory for the Warman.
