Chapter 372: Chapter 372 – Live Like a Viking

A minute had passed in silence. Even the chat changed their way of speaking after 30 seconds.

— Ssh! Do something fun

— Ssshh! How long are you going to stay there?

— Sssssshhh! This is making me anxious. When will he move?

— SSSSSSHHHHHH! Won't he get hypothermia in this case? It's been a minute!

— SSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH!!! Keep silent.

— What the heck are you guys doing?

It was fine at first, but it became unbearable to read after a while. Not to mention, the words became longer and longer each time a new guy typed.

"Guys, can you stop that?" Max became irritated by how they typed and rose from his hiding place. "The enemy will be here soon. They surely have been revived and ran to this place with reinforcement."

That was the only reason why he hid. But due to the chat, he decided to show himself.

"You want to see something exciting, fine! Assassin play is over now. It's time for a real Viking to fight."

Max walked out of the forest and stood tall with many weapons on his back like a real Viking. He lowered his hood and waited for the enemies to arrive.

It didn't take long. Only 30 seconds were needed before he could see shadows in the distance. There were a total of roughly 10 people running toward him. Two of them were pretty familiar, they were MadLad and Lightning. There was also the red-haired man from before.

That said, the man's eyes widened when he saw Max. His lips split from ear to ear like a madman and ran faster while brandishing a large axe twice his size.

"Blood God demands your blood!"

The Blood God guy started swinging his axe. The snow was sent into the air from the sheer force alone.

Seeing it, Max smiled wryly.

"Are you satisfied now? How should I defeat that guy in direct combat?" He asked the chat while shrugging his shoulders in defeat. "That's not a human."

— Umm… Good luck?

— Y-You can do it. Blood God guy isn't that scary!

— Yeah, I totally am not scared of him! Maybe… Perhaps… I lied. I am scared of him. He's crazy…

— I must admit… That man scares me

— There is BloodSucker the Viscount and there is now this cult follower... I have to admit Breeze have various kind of viewers...

The red-haired guy was faster than anyone. He was like getting a boost from an illegal drug.

Max prepared himself and threw the sword he looted from the corpse. One. Two. Three.

They flew toward the Blood God guy at a fast speed, each having a different trajectory. One aimed at the head, two at the chest and arm.

Facing them, the red-haired guy wasn't even flinching. He casually waved his large axe and blocked the three swords. The large weapon was indeed slow but it worked best as a cover.

But again, Max already knew about that.

When the Blood God guy raised his large axe, it created a large blindspot for him and his friends.

"You fool!" MadLad shouted with a tinge of madness mixed in his voice.

Everyone besides the Blood God guy and Lightning was confused. They didn't know why MadLad sounded urgent.

But soon, they understood when they saw Max's head peeking from the large axe's blade. He swung his axe toward the red-haired guy who was caught off guard.

"Just offer your own blood instead of mine."

Swoosh!

"Ah, you're right."

With that last realization, the Blood God guy died with a smile. He fell onto the snowy ground while Max grabbed the large axe from his hand, raising the weapon.

"Damn, this is so heavy." He said as he threw it away. "I won't be able to use that."

Two axes would be more versatile than the war axe. The remaining enemies had gotten close to him and began their attack. Max dodged the first attack by stepping to the side and blocking the second with his axe.

He pivoted using his right leg and made a wide horizontal swing. The axe hit the person's side, lodging deep into his rib. That, however, didn't kill him immediately and resulted in his axe getting stuck.

"I got you!"

Lightning exclaimed as he jumped from behind Max. The blondie swung his axe, but it didn't find its target. Max ducked to dodge it and Lightning's axe hit his teammate's instead.

His other hand had made a swing as he spun his body midair. The axe went straight at Lightning's neck, effectively beheading him cleanly.

"Eh?"

That was the last thing the blondie said before a skull symbol appeared on top of his head. Seven more people left.

However, Max wasn't free yet. He rolled on the snow to get away from being cornered. He only had an axe and a sword left. Once he stood up again, he gripped them tightly in his hand and rushed forward.

"Stop him at once!" MadLad gave out the order, "Surround him. Don't try to attack one by one. Just attack at once."

One vs seven. It would be hard.

Max plunged into the enemy's rank without any hesitation. His arm was cut and his body bled. However, he kept advancing and attacking the enemies around him. One swing would result in one victim. The strongest among his enemies was MadLad.

The guy had strength and good swordsmanship technique. Unlike Max, MadLad was clearly trained in the art of combat. He probably took a martial arts class.

But…

"Just fall down!"

Max stayed strong. His left arm was gone. It was only time before he died. Only one enemy was left, and it was MadLad.

"Heh, don't talk big. Come at me. Are you afraid of a one-armed man, MadLad?!"

"Tsk! Don't underestimate me!"

MadLad rushed toward him with his sword raised high in the air.

Facing it, Max prepared himself. An axe was what was left in his right hand. He could see a countdown in the corner of his vision, showing that he would die soon from blood loss. Before that happened, he wanted to kill MadLad.

'24 seconds, that's enough time.'

Just as he thought that MadLad was already in front of him. The sword was swung down, aiming at his shoulder. Max didn't even try to evade. He took the sword without fear, taking his enemy by surprise.

"You have to sacrifice something to achieve something bigger!"

Max's axe hacked MadLad's ribs from the side. The impact was enough to rupture his inner organ and force him to the knee. In just a few seconds, he would definitely die.

Looking at MadLad, who groaned in pain, Max smiled. Then, he looked at the camera and raised his middle finger.

"Are you not entertained? That's how a Viking fights!"

After that, Max felt strength left his body and he fell face first on the snow.
