God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.

Chapter 509: Asura Breaks the Tooth.

Cain's transformation was abrupt, and before anyone could notice anything, he jumped off the ship.

The ship and the huge hill of a tooth were separated by a rather large distance, something that couldn't have been covered with a single jump.

"Black Dragon of Crimson Sky: Ascending."

{Black Dragon of Crimson Sky} is the evolved version of the {Abyssal Crimson Blade Technique}.

It took all aspects of the sword technique he practiced and fully incorporated it with a strange pattern of energy flow. It made use of both Devil Essence and Ki, but it didn't seem that way, as the Devil Essence was the main driving force behind the technique.

This sword style was heavy, overbearing, and dealt a lot of damage.

It had a total of five techniques currently;

Black Dragon, Orbiting...

Black Dragon, Ascending...

Black Dragon, Devouring Descent...

Hells Nexus...

And Black Line.

The first technique was a defensive technique. Like the scales of the nightmarish Black Dragon, the technique created an all round defense by rotating the blade around at high speeds, blocking off most avenues for attacks, preventing slower ones from slipping through.

The technique conjured up the image of black Dragon scales revolving around him due to how fast his blade moved when he swung it in a circular path.

Then, there was Black Dragon, Ascending. Rather than a pure sword technique, it was more of a movement technique that allowed Cain to made use of his abundant energy to move forward or skyward with explosive speed.

The main propellant was his Ki, with Devil Essence acting as a form outer coating on his weapon and body, making him appear like a Black Dragon ascending into the skies.

Then, there was Black Dragon, Devouring Descent, the third stage in the series. By pouring out a large amount of energy, he could strike down at an enemy that had been destabilized by Black Dragon, Ascending. It made use of gravity to boost the lethality of the fall.

These three skills worked in tandem with one another, and while they could be executed individually, their true strengths came when activated in a single fluid motion.

And then, there was {Hells Nexus} and {Black Line}.

Hells Nexus was a technique that involves him concentrating a scary amount of Ki and Devil Essence to the edge of his blade before pushing out, releasing a sharp wave of cutting energy.

It was incredibly deadly, and was powerful enough to slice through five solid bars of tungsten all at once.

The more powerful version of the skill was {Black Line}. Compressing his energy even further and leaving a scar on the world. That was the essence of {Black Line}.

These techniques were powerful, but could they hold when faced against the bones of a Tier 2 being.

Soaring through the air, these were the thoughts floating around Cain's jumbled head.

He had come to notice something peculiar. He was in control of his body.

Unlike last time, when he had fought Lord Crimson, achieving this state had caused him to lose his mind. He had been slightly conscious, but had no idea what was going on with his body.

Instead, he had been trapped in a dark void with a strange being of black golden darkness and evil mirth.

Remembering it should have sent a shiver down his spine, but he wasn't feeling a bunch of emotions at the moment.

Instead, he felt light, like a bird soaring through the sky.

A thick deluge of energy poured out of him as he soared into the sky, the ethereal image of a Black Dragon following behind him.

The concept behind his sword style was to be as overbearing as possible. As long as the opponent was not given the opportunity to attack, they would be harmless. Defense, movement, and a chill attack potency. It lacked any complicated moves and went for what was most effective.

This meant it was most suitable for fighting Mutant Creatures, especially large ones.

People on the ship watched his soar into the sky with expressions of awe. When he had reached a rather good height, Cain spurred the Ki flowing in his veins.

Blood poured out of his orifices, but he didn't notice as he turned into a screaming meteor, diving down at the tooth.

Dragging behind him a sword blazing with darkness bubbling at its hilt and a boisterous crimson energy streak, he stifled a roar.

"Damn... What a sight." Steve said to himself with a complicated look on his face as he cast spell after spell.

Hunter sighed, "He's strong. There's no doubt about that. The real question is can he do it."

Steve smirked, "Where'd your faoth go, huh?"

A memory surfaced in Hunter's mind...

From a seemingly impossible situation, they had managed to prevail. All thanks to a single person.

Back when he had lost his limbs, he had thought that was the end for him. He didn't really despair a lot, but it took some time to accept the reality.

But all that was wiped away when Cain performed what seemed like a miracle.

He had nothing but respect for him and his strength.

'I might never be able to measure up to him, but I can be someone he can rely on.'

"More! Keep it coming!" Hunter yelled at the frantic Beastmen. Attack after attack fell like hailstones on a particular spot at the base of the tooth.

Some of them were acid, corroding the stark white bone, others were flames, scorching the bone and weakening it. Others were giant rocks, conjured and hurled with great force, while others were arrows and bullets that struck repeatedly, chipping away at the tooth.

Cain could see what they were trying to do and he was all for it.

His hollow sockets were stretched to their absolute limits as a chilling light came from their depths.

"Black Dragon of Crimson Sky: Red Fire Mutilation."

The streak of crimson energy coalesced into a blade of shimmering light as he plunged down,

Striking that same point close to the base of the tooth.

A titanic explosion spread outwards, creating a shockwave that violently displaced the surrounding air.

The water around the ship surged and became tumultuous. Waves churned violently, and a swirling whirlpool began to form around them.

The island, and everything that had been on it were slowly being crushed. It was only a matter of time.before it sunk.

Meaning they were also on borrowed time as well...

"The big guy is angry! Up the ante!" Steve yelled as he increased the frequency of his attacks, not sparing anything.

When the smoke cleared up, Cain stared at the large gash left behind on the smooth tooth.

'It isn't enough. Not nearly enough in the slightest.'

The base of the tooth was as thick as a hill. And this was one of the less girth ones.

Some were as tall and wide as small mountains. The beast was truly a titanic calamity.

Landing on the stark white bone of the tooth, Cain circulated his energy again and struck forward with his sword. The crimson energy still lingered on the blade of the sword, boosting his attacks.

This was because he had just activated the Flame Enchantment of the {Burning Spirit} skill.

Whatever mana he had recovered naturally plus from drinking mana potions during the time it took them to approach the tooth was used up for the activating of {Red Fire Mutilation}, a sword technique that made the most of this increased attack potency.

Ignoring the crippling weakness coming over him, he pushed his body and mind to the limits, hacking restlessly.

Attacks fell from the ship as almost everyone those who had the means to launch ranged attacks fired the same spot over and over again.

As his blood slowly seeped out of his flesh, dripping onto the white bone, Cain got more and more aggressive.

He lost himself, swinging his sword only God knew how many times.

Each swing held a prayer, one that couldn't accept failure. Coughing up a mouthful of blood, he pushed himself to the absolute limit possible, activating two abilities at once and pushing another one to the absolute limit;

{Mana Heart} was pushed to the absolute limit possible, recovering more mana that what was supposed to be possible...

{Flame of Darkness} was activated, coating his blade with a layer of smoldering dark flames.

[Ki Fire] was activated, coating his hands and increasing the might of his slashes.

Activating all three at once seemed to set off something within him, as his sword pulsed with a menacing darkness.

Crimson energy rose like a spire as he cut down once again, attacking that same spot.

Like a lighting strike, like a volcano erupting, like a star dying...

The blade of the {Scale of the Abyssal Flame} broke through what was left of the tooth. A harrowing echo came from the depths of the ocean as the broken off portion slid off the base of tooth and into the water. Cain had torn up a bit of flesh as he cut through the tooth, so the creature could clearly feel the pain of having its tooth broken off.

At the same time, Cain's arms exploded into a shower of bone, flesh and blood, completely mutilated by the rebound force.

'I did it...' Were Cain's final thoughts as he lost consciousness and fell towards the water.
