Chapter 489: True Technique.
Cain let out a steamy breath of air...
Faint wisps of smoke wafted off his body as his rapidly circulating Ki began to cool down.
The entirety of the {Scale of the Abyssal Flame} was buried in Guy's chest. Rampaging Ki and Devil Essence bled away from the sword and into the wound, turning his organs into mush.
He wasn't long for this world...
The sound of countless water drops hitting the surface of the ocean filled the air.
Stillness finally came over the inky blackness...
In a moment of realization, he had combined skill with power. The {Abyssal Dragon Blade Technique} was all about utilizing his Ki and Devil Essence to inflict the maximum amount of damage. On the other hand, Black Dragon, Orbiting and Black Dragon, Ascending were techniques that he created based purely on skill.
Black Dragon, Orbiting was a defensive technique. In a single, yet continuous movement, he made use of the technique to parry multiple attacks at once.
As for Black Dragon, Ascending, it was a combination of footwork and his predictive skills to land an absolutely sinister and precise blow.
His proficiency with both skills were such that he had begun to use them somewhat unconsciously. By pairing it together with the {Abyssal Dragon Blade Technique}, he had birthed something new entirely.
A skill that combined optimization and destruction. A true sword technique in a sense...
"Kekeke... Truly a Demon, you are..." Cain snapped back to reality.
Guy's huge body was supported solely by the blade sticking through his chest. Blood continuously flowed from the wound.
Cain frowned, "Save your words for whatever you'll meet in hell. I don't want to hear it."
Guy laughed again. It was at this moment Cain sensed something wrong.
"If this was enough to kill me, I would have been dead long ago."
Guy slowly raised his head to stare at Cain. His eyes were fully crimson now, and a savage grin hung on his face.
"You are capable, but arrogant. Let me show you what true pwerlooks like!"
A deluge of energy exploded forth, launching Cain back like an arrow. Luckily, Ruby caught him just in time.
Flipping onto her back, Cain waved the blood off his blade and stared at Guy with narrowed eyes,
"What the hell is this?"
He could sense a vast change from before. The Guy of before had a savage aura about him. However, this savage aura was now being filled with a Divine presence.
"Finally decided to bring everything out, huh."
{Eye of Clairvoyance} and {Eye of Uncertainty} were still active, so he was able to sense these changes in real time.
However, slowly but surely, these two skills were beginning to fail him. For the first time ever, there was something the {Eye of Clairvoyance} couldn't pierce through.

Lukas opened his eyes to see three absolutely gorgeous ladies standing before him.
One wore a tight fitting black leather armor. There was a dagger and a short sword hanging from her waist as well. Her hair was as white as snow, and her eyes red like blood. Her face was the epitome of indifferent, and yet, he could sense the slight disdain hanging from her lips.
The second one had a much more refined and serious presence around her. She wore leather armor as well. However, she was covered by a white robe with golden patterns as well. In her left hand was a mage's staff, and in her left was a warbow. She was jus as beauty as the first girl, but a slight frown hung on her lips, as though she was worried about something.
The third one had a slightly more relaxed aura around her, like an elder sister. Her eyes were calm, and compassionate, but the large heavy sniper rifle in her hands was a very glaring contrast. It also seemed incredibly odd in the current circumstances. The most glaringly obvious physical trait about her though, were her incredibly large blossoms, compared to her less impressive peers.
Lukas was confused for a second, "This..."
"I'll spare you the talk. If you want to go back to your boyfriend, fight us." The girl with the snow-white hair said with a slight smile.
Lukas frowned, "Why do I have to do that? I have no time to play games..."
Although they were beautiful, these girls were not worth his time. He could get back to them after he defeated Guy.
"Unfortunately for you, you don't have much of a choice." Susan said coldly.
With that, the gemstone on the staff in her hand shone for a brief moment before exploding into dust.
"There. He won't be able to escape now " Susan said calmly.
Lukas sighed. The mana in his body shifted as he tried to make a move. Must to his surprise, he realized that he couldn't activate his teleportation spell. He could also sense that a barrier surrounder the current stretch of ocean they were floating above.
If he wanted to get out of here, he needed to kill these three.
"This doesn't bring me great joy, but it has to be done. Take this as a consequence of standing in my way."
Waving his blade, Lukas closed in. Like any opponent he would face, he wouldn't give them the change to gain the upper hand by underestimating them.
Drawing her weapons from her waist, Evangeline suddenly dove into the shadows, reappearing behind Lukas.
Eyes widened slightly, he turned around, bringing his sword slicing forward.
However, the moment he did, he noticed the slightly mocking grin on Evangeline's face.
'Crap!'
The sound of a bullet exiting the chamber rang forth as Jenny chose the most opportune moment to let one loose.
It was perfectly timed. Lukas could only chose one to defend. Leaving his back exposed to the white-haired witch could have dire consequences, but he would rather not have a bullet pierce his back.
As such, he chose neither...
A light breath he exhaled. All the hairs on his body stood on end as he began to move. The world around his seemed to slow down. Even the rapidly approaching bullet seemed many time slower now.
However, it was not that the world had become slwoer. Instead, he had just become many times faster.
Dodging out of the way of the bullet, he slashed forward with his sword, intent on seperating the beautiful head of the white-haired witch from her body.
Just as the blade was about to bite through flesh, he felt the shadows around him suddenly come to life.
Shockingly, they were able to move just as fast as he was. They turned into whip-like tentacles, lashing at him from all directions.
Gritting his teeth, his blade turned into a blur as he cut them down.
Evangeline quickly retreated backwards.
"He seems capable." She said with a slight smile.
"He's no match for Cain, nor us..."
Evangeline had told Cain once that if she was to fight Lukas, her chances would be around thirty percent. However, that was not truly the case.
Her chances were more like fifty percent. Lukas was strong, but Evangeline was a scary character herself.
The same went for Susan and Jenny. They were all equally as capable in certain situations, and would be able to hold their own against Lukas or Guy. Combining them was simply overkill.
Still, Lukas was no small character himself...
"Hmm... Our Leader is truly capable. If only he had an eye for other thinhs besides getting lost on other worlds and fighting too much." Evangeline said with a heavy sigh.
Susan frowned at her, "What do you mean by that?"
Evangeline shrugged, "What else? I'm a young lady interested in romance. Is it so bad to want the man I am interested in to pay attention to me?"
A slight blush appeared on Jenny's face,
"What are you two talking about? You know Cain is not like that."
Evangeline nodded, "I wish he was more forward. Perhaps I should go on the attack if he keeps hesitating?"
"Enough! Aren't there other things to worry about right now?! Also, why would he go for someone like you?!" Susan said,
Evangeline smirked at her, "What? You think he'll go for you?"
Susan's face turned red. Just as she was about to answer, Lukas' cold voice interrupted.
"Am I truly that uninteresting to you?"
A beam of sword light shot at them, but Susan was quick to summon a barrier. Still, it was strong enough too destroy it immediately.
"Hm? Looks like we've managed to piss him off." Evangeline said. Although her words were infuriating, there was not a single change in her facial expressions.
"Let's get serious. Cain might need our help soon." Jenny said, taking aim once again.
Evangeline nodded, "You are right."
Then she turned to Lukas, "Our leader wishes that we put you out of commission temporarily. I hope you understand."
Lukas said nothing, but his cold expression became even colder. The blade in his hand began to radiate dazzling energy.
Evangeline nodded, "Good. You should take this fight seriously. Because..."
Her ruby-red eyes became as black as midnight,
"I plan to crush you totally and thoroughly for Cain."
The heavy water elemental energy in the air stirred. The shadows deep within the inky blackness stirred violently, responding to her agitation.
Inky black tendrils of water rose from the surface to enveloped her voluptuous form, some rising even further to form enormous pillars that touched towards the sky. In an enchanting voice, tugging at the soul, she chanted;
"Shadows of the Depths, Heed me... Come, Charybdis."
