Chapter 475: Crimson Army.
"The island's are not very big. Still, each one is far bigger than the school had been. Right now, the Sea Mutants are attacking from that side... We can't be sure they have no traps of safeguards in place. So..." Francis tried to covey the plan.
Right now, the Crimson Warriors, followers of the Blood God, had mounted their speed boats. They had a lot of them because the Eastern part of the school had served as a dock for all types of small marine vessels.
Guy listened carefully to what his subordinates had to say. Then he turned to Rollo who was standing right beside him,
"How do you think this battle will go?"
The question came without warning, and Rollo was a bit taken aback. However, he managed to remain calm,
"My guess is they already know we are coming. That means they most likely have traps in place. The domain of the gods is not something we can thread lightly in..."
The Light God, Yagani, was even stronger than their patron god. Should they carelessly step into his domain, they could face divine wrath.
Guy nodded approvingly, "That's correct."
Francis who had been trying to explain his master plan suddenly deflated. He then glared at Rollo.
Rollo shrugged, 'What does this have to do with me? I just answered a question...'
The wind carried their hair and crimson garbs.
Rollo looked around at an army drenched in blood...
These men were bloodthirsty degenerates that would not hesitate to cut down their own kin. This was due to the Blood God of War's subtle influence on their pysche. Escaping it required greater than normal fortitude. Howeverz some people would rather give into their carnal desires than resist it...
Guy then turned to Francis,
"Going for an ambush would not be very smart. We are going to wait for a while before we proceed. We don't want to bring the entire island down. As long as we kill Lukas and his cronies, we've won." His voice was cold and carried a solemn air.
His subordinates knew he had gotten serious...
Rollo suddenly frowned, "What about Luke, the Spectre?"
Guy smiled, "You think he's a fool? There's a reason why I told him to come over here."
His smile turned ever more sinister, "He doesn't care about what is right or wrong. All he wants to do is save those bitches. Horses run well when they have carrots dangling in front of them, and Luke is nothing more than a horse."
Rollo seemed to understand, "So the plan is to bring them down from the inside, right?"
Guy nodded, the shook his head,
"We'll fight them on two fronts."
Most people would think Guy was just a muscle head. However, all that was a gimmick for them to lower their guards when dealing with him. The moment they made a mistake, he would attack like a ferocious shark.
Rollo felt admiration and fear at the same time. Staring at the huge rune covered man, he let out a sigh. Calling him a man was too much, as he was still in his late teens. Yet...
The speed boats cut a clear path from the Eastern Island to the Western Island. Along the way, numerous Mutant Beasts attacked the min fleet, but they were all shot down before they could even come close.
Guy suddenly spoke, "Get ready. There's a big one coming this way."
The moment he said this, a huge tentacle broke through the water's surface and shot at one of the speed boats. The ones on the boat could do nothing but watch as the boat was splintered into sawdust.
A huge explosion was left behind.
Guy's eyes narrowed as a grin appeared on his face,
"Playing hard to get, hmm..."
He summoned his great battle-axe from his inventory. A frightening amount of Ki began pouring into the weapon. A rune on his chest began to glow subtly. With a grunt, he stepped forward, making the boat lunge forward violently.
Under his might, the threw the axe into the water,
"Blood Eagle."
The sea parted like a certain historical figure had come back from the dead. Two towering walls of water rose into the sky as the axe poured out frightening energy.
Within the water, a giant, squid-like creature had planned to attack the fleet and dine on human flesh today. However, the tables had turned too abruptly. It tried placing its tentacles in the way of the world severing axe, but it did little to nothing.
There was nothing that could stop it, no defense powerful enough to hold the magnificent power of an apostle of the Blood God.
The squid-like creature was split in two, unable to even retaliate...
Once its objective had been completed, the axe returned back into its master's outstretched hand.
"Hmph. Light work."
"Ah! Amazing as always, boss!" Francis took this chance to suck up to the big boss.
"Hahaha!" Guy let out a boisterous laugh, obviously very pleased by the praises.
Idris gagged, whole Rollor averted his eyes in shame.
They continued their advance until it was almost time to board the Western Island from the other side.
"Dock the boats!" Francis yelled loudly.
The Crimson Warriors eagerly docked their boats.
Guy's eyes narrowed, "We'll wait here for a while. Idris, take a few men and scout the area."
Idris nodded. A group of Crimson Warriors dressed in light armor quickly landed on the island and spread out. They all either had blessings or skills that allowed them to hide their presence, or they possessed incredible speed and perception that would allow them to identify traps. Although the followers of the Blood God were carnal, they weren't allowed to be weak.
In terms of physical might, they were directly on par with the Beastmen.
"Boss, we can't just wait, can we? Losing time means giving the enemies an opportunity to sieze the advantage!" Francis said desperately.
Guy nodded, "Gather all the mages and activate {Blood Fog}."
{Blood Fog}...
A spell that would grant the followers of the Blood God increased power, while reducing the abilities of opposing forces. When one person activated it, the danger level was not that high. At most, it would be able to hinder ten people.
Currently, the Blood God Followers had three Tier 1 mages, and twenty Tierless ones. That didn't seem like a lot, but. The amount of people who possessed large enough magic stats to be considered mages were not a lot.
While it seemed like the system's assignment of stats was random, it wasn't to some extent. The soul of each individual was unique, and their personalities, needs, wants, desires, fate, even destinies, were different.
All these were variables that made each person different from another. As such, the way the system helped allocate stat points would be different as well. Some would see their agility and perception stats increase more than others, while some would see their magic and control stats increase more.
To be considered a mage, one would have to have decent magic and control stats...
With so many mages focusing on activating one spell together, they were guaranteed to have control over the battlefield.
Guy's eyes radiated with malice,
'You know I'm coming, Lukas... Why don't you come give me a warm welcome already...'
***
'Finally...'
He had spent all night in the {Draconic Blast Furnace} crafting new weapons and armor. He was spent, but luckily, he could recovered after a meal.
Grabbing the grilled thigh of an unknown Mutant Beast, Cain bit down. The succulent juices sprayed into his mouth. As he chewed, the meat melted until he swallowed. It turned into a stream of heat, filling him and restoring his spent energy.
He let out a sighed regretfully, 'If only we can get our hands on more seasoning other than salt.'
Staring at the simple map, Cain rubbed his head with his non-oily hand. Hunter had just given him this map and said it was a more detailed version of the school ground, if it could still be called that.
Previously, the school had been shaped like a clover leaf, with its stem being the bridge that attached it to the Maic City. Now, that stem was replaced by a huge tear in space, the Rift...
The Central Island had doubled in size, and the Northern, Western, and Eastern islands had broken off and drifted further into the East Persian Sea. Right now, they were all seperated from one another by roughly a hundred kilometers.
Meaning, if they ran even at top speed, it would take a few hours to reach there.
Cain sighed, 'There's also the problem of getting there.'
They had previously created an ice bridge to cross from the Northern Island to the Central Island. But that wouldn't be a smart move to make here.
'A boat... A ship... Where do we find something like that?'
{Replying to host: It is possible for the host to purchase a sea faring vessel from the system store}.
Cain's eyes lit up, 'Really? Let me see...'
Why did 5he system always keep important information like this till the last minute? If he had known they could get a ship from the system, he would have done so many things different.
But then, he thought about it. The system was truly a treasure. But it required one to properly understand it to make the most out of it.
Cain quickly activated his status screen and moved to the system store corner.
'What kind of ship will it be? Something crude created by ancient vikings for plunder, or something even more mystical, created by some mystical race, for some mystical purpose... I think.'
Truly, there was no way of knowing...
With excitement, he began looking through.
