'Crap! Crap! Crap! Where the hell did this thing come from?!' Shye inwardly complained while breaking out in a cold sweat, his combat stance, fully defensive.
He slowly started circling the kobold general who suddenly brandished its massive glaive downwards forcing Shye to perform a side roll to dodge the lethal blow.
*BANG*
Shye's eyes widened upon realizing that the kobold general's glaive embedded itself deep into the earth after he successfully dodged the general's attack, not daring to imagine what would happen if he tried blocking such a deadly strike.
Fully vigilant, Shye forced himself to calm down as he observed the behavior of the kobold who suddenly looked in his direction, raised its glaive, and proceeded to attack him again.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
In Shye's battle against the kobold general, it was the ground that suffered the most as dirt and broken ancient tiles flew everywhere, his greatswords clanging with each successful roll dodge.
Unfortunately, he could do nothing but continue dodging each deadly blow as thoughts of escaping the room crept into his mind, slowly weakening his resolve to face the nightmarish creature.
*BANG*
Shye narrowly avoided a fatal hit as one of his greatswords, the daybreak, was sent flying.
His entire right arm went numb upon feeling the power of the kobold general, making him momentarily turn his attention to the numbed arm.
'Shit!' Shye inwardly cursed as he forcefully tried to refocus his attention on the next attack of the massive kobold, he thought that his momentary lapse of focus would be the last mistake he ever made in his life but then, a shocking thing happened.
Just when he thought that the kobold general's next attack was already on the way threatening to slash him in half, there…Wasn't a next attack.
Instead, the kobold general suddenly performed a crazy action which left Shye utterly confused.
As his sword, Daybreak, made clanging noises upon landing on the ground a few meters away from him, the kobold general ferociously rushed towards the sword.
It then swung its massive glaive downwards, accurately hitting the weak spot and destroying the gold-tier greatsword.
'No! My 2100 silver coins!' Shye inwardly cried upon seeing his lesser jade-enchanted greatsword split into two pieces.
He could barely fight the creature with two swords! How would he be able to—
Shye's pessimistic thought process was suddenly cut short upon realizing something important, making him temporarily forget the pain of losing his gold-tier greatsword.
The kobold…reacted to the sound of his greatsword and struck it down as if he was there which meant that…
'This kobold general is blind!' Shye thought to himself as hope returned in his heart.
He was pondering whether trying to escape from the kobold general would be the wisest choice right now but there was no other way out of the labyrinth except this room so he decided to stay and try his luck.
In addition to this, he wasn't sure if the kobold general would leave him alone once he left the room or if it would chase him down the hallways of the labyrinth.
With its superior agility, there was no hope of him ever escaping the massive creature so he decided that he might as well try to fight it and see what he could do.
Fortunately, the Grim Reaper was a bit lenient this time, giving him a chance to keep his life if he played his cards right.
Shye's brain started working.
The gears in his mind shifted and turned as he calmly analyzed the situation and schemed to kill the nightmarish kobold.
'For starters…Let's see how tough this thing's flesh is…' Shye thought to himself as he carefully sneaked behind the kobold general who was standing still.
*SPURT*
Shye easily managed to land a hit on the creature's kneepit, hoping to cause movement difficulties to the kobold general but unfortunately, his [Power Slash Lv.4] simply managed to inflict a shallow cut.
*ROOOAAAR*
Still, the kobold was quite hurt since the area he targeted was a vital spot.
Although the cut was shallow, it was enough to slightly impair the movement of the kobold general, not allowing it to move as quickly as before.
Naturally, the massive kobold knew that he was behind so it quickly turned around and smashed the ground he was previously standing on.
Fortunately, he was quick-witted and immediately retreated after inflicting a cut. He then smiled confidently as he continued tiptoeing to make as little noise as possible.
However, the kobold general's next actions utterly stupefied Shye, making him confused once again.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
As if it was never blind in the first place, the kobold general accurately knew where he was, raining down an onslaught of fierce and deadly strikes making Shye desperately roll over the place, not giving him any chance to retaliate again.
'Shit! Shit! Shit! What the hell! How is this kobold general pinpointing my location so accurately?!' Shye anxiously thought to himself as he continued dodging.
Finally, one awkward dodge made him accidentally swing his sword, making the kobold general perform the crazy movement of charging towards nothing as it swung its glaive down ferociously.
Then, after not feeling anything from the hit, the kobold general stood still again.
'What the fuck…Is this creature playing with me?' Shye couldn't help but think that the creature was being playful.
He couldn't understand some of its random movements, however, those full-powered swings didn't seem like it wasn't playing around at all.
'There must be something…' Shye gnashed his teeth as he closely observed the area where it crazily charged and struck nothing but the ground, hoping to get some clues.
Finally, after fifteen seconds of close observation, he saw something on the ground. He then looked at his greatsword, then looked at the struck ground again, and…smiled.
