Fate Online: Shadow

Michael is running along the side of the road while talking to someone on his phone.

"Are you already in the park?"

"Okay, I’ll be there in five minutes"

He hung up the phone and quickly picked up on his speed as he rushed towards the direction of a nearby park.

A little over five minutes later.

Michael arrived before an attractive woman who is wearing running tights and a sports bra that shows off her bountiful chest, and a pair of white sneakers.

"*Gulp!*"

And Michael couldn’t help but swallow his saliva on the sight before him.

"Stop staring at my breast or I’ll poke your eyes out, my eyes are up here" Amanda snorted with a bit of displeasure in her voice.

Michael scratched the back of his head in embarrassment and said, "Sorry about that, it’s just...you look really great tonight"

Amanda raised an eyebrow with one of the edges of her lips curved upwards, she looked at Michael with her arms crossed before her chest.

"Any woman would look good wearing this kind of clothes"

"Come on, let’s go"

Amanda turned around was about to start running when a hand suddenly grabbed her wrist and pulled her back.

"What are you doing!?" Amanda couldn’t but yell and glare at Michael who is smiling at her.

Michael just smiled, held her chin up, and leaned his face towards her, and Amanda didn’t move, she just stood there watching Michael’s face slowly getting closer to her face.

Michael pressed his lips against her and then wrapped his arms around her waist as he pulled her towards him.

Michael didn’t want to look like an asshole, so he just gave her lips some light touches and pecking, before pulling away from her.

He sweetly smiled at her, before he hastily jogged away, maybe due to some slight embarrassment.

Amanda looked at his back and lightly touched her lips, she smiled and said, "Jerk���

Then she hurriedly followed after him, from which Michael also slowed down as he didn’t want to lose her.

But not even five seconds later, two men in running attires suddenly came out from behind a tree beside the park pavement and hurriedly followed after Michael and Amanda.

"On other news..."

"Princess Violet has now arrived at Deep Blue City, and the purpose of her visit is regarding the investigation of the death of her son, and because of it, the Federal Government has been facing a lot of issues with the Kingdom of Angles"

That was what Michael and Amanda heard when they passed by a TV attached on top of a steel pole, which is currently surrounded by multiple park goers who are watching the news.

Michael just smirked while Amanda’s face turned into a frown, but the two of them didn’t stop and continued forward.

Followed by her bodyguards, and representatives of the nation, Princess Violet was led inside the Northern Rica State Department, where the group of reporters who followed them were stopped by the guards at the gate of the building.

Princess Violet then was led inside a spacious room, where the Secretary of the State is already waiting for her, along with some men wearing military uniforms and a couple of serious-looking women who look like they hold some important positions inside the government.

"Princess Violet, Welcome!"

The old guy who was sitting on the head of the table quickly stood up and walked towards the princess with a huge smile on his face, while the other people inside also stood up after him and smiled at the princess in greeting.

"It’s good to see you again, Mr. Secretary" Princess Violet smiled and exchanged a handshake with the State Secretary.

The State Secretary called Arnold, just smiled and gestured for her to take a seat, "Please"

The Princess nodded and took a seat on the opposite end of the table, with her assistant respectfully standing behind her with her eyes closed.

"I’m pretty sure you already know what I came here for" Princess Violet smiled, her eyes, flashing with cold light.

Arnold wasn’t even bothered about her murderous look and just smiled, "Of course, Princess"

"As you know, we still haven’t made any progress on who the killer of your son is"

Princess Violet was angered, but she tried to calm down and coldly said, "How is that even possible? Your country is one best there is in tracking people no matter how small the clue is"

"What about The Continental? Did they say something about it? After all, the killer could have been one of their members who were sent to kill my son by someone who wanted my son, dead!"

Arnold and the other people inside the room looked at each other with wary smiles on their faces.

"With all due respect princess, The Continental isn’t something that could just be ordered around or be reasoned with, and even if the most powerful nations in the world want to uproot this organization, no one would dare make the first move as it would certainly draw the ire of all members of the organization scattered around the world,"

"After all, no one wants to die not knowing how they even died, and that’s the scary aspect with those bastards, you wouldn’t know when they are gonna strike until its too late"

Princess Violet turned her head towards the person who had spoken those words and saw a man around the age of fifty looking at her, and the said person is a decorated four stars general of the army.

"Hmmph!"

Princess Violet just snorted in annoyance.

Over an hour later.

Michael and Amanda are currently resting on a bench after they were done with the run and some post-workout.

"Did you really become a noble?" Amanda said while sitting on the bench as she took a sip of her water.

Michael smiled at her and said, "I did. I became a Baron for Snow Village"

"I didn’t really wanna do it, but what can I do when the title is already stuck to me?"

Michael was wearing a bitter smile on his face when he said those words.

"Why not? Being a noble is great, it has a lot of advantages, and from what I know, you’re the only player right now that has a noble title" said Amanda, as she didn’t understand why Michael wouldn’t like becoming a noble.

After all, she can’t also help but admit that she’s also a little jealous of his achievement, and even those nine guild masters would surely go crazy when news of the first player to achieve nobility spreads inside the game.

Michael was about to open his mouth and answer her when he suddenly frowned and looked to their side.

And when he did that, he saw a cool looking guy heading towards them, who is oozing with confidence.

The guy just ignored Michael who was standing in front of Amanda and stood before the latter.

"Hi, the sky is really great tonight, right?"

"Do you want to hang out or something? I know a great place for relaxation after a long run, and they also have good food"

Amanda just looked at this stranger and didn’t say anything, and Michael also did the same while thinking to himself.

’Quite confident about himself, isn’t he?’

Being stared at by the party for a few seconds without saying anything made the heart of this stranger turn cold, especially when he’s looking at those cold eyes staring straight into his eyes.

"Ahh, it seems I’m lost. Have a great night to you" the guy just scratched the back of his head, embarrassed.

Then he quickly bolted out of there, never looking back.

"Wow, I wasn’t expecting that. You really scared him there" said Michael with laughed while looking at the back of the guy who is scurrying away from them.

Amanda turned towards him and just rolled her eyes while letting out a chuckle as she also wasn’t expecting that to happen.

’I was just surprised though, so I didn’t say anything’

Michael gave Amanda a kiss on her lips.

"See you later, maybe inside the game tomorrow?"

Amanda just smiled and said, "Yeah, I hope we could reach the village soon though"

"Anyway, drive safe and goodnight"

And with that, she opened the door beside her and got down from the car.

"Later then" Michael smiled at her, and Amanda smiled back and waved him goodbye.

She only made her way inside when she couldn’t see Michael’s car anymore.

"It seems someone had fun tonight" Jenny’s voice sounded from the living room just as Amanda entered the house.

"I guess," Amanda said as she made her way over to the living room.

"What are you watching?"

Jenny shrugged her shoulders and took a bite of her chips and said, "A drama called Descendants of the Sun"

"Is it even good? How come you’re suddenly watching something like this?" Amanda said while looking at the TV that’s currently playing something a different language, and if it wasn’t for the subtitle on the screen, she wouldn’t have understood what any of the characters are saying.

"I just discovered it today, and the story is so good that I can’t stop myself from watching it! You should watch it with me! We can start at Episode 1, I don’t mind watching it at the beginning again"

Jenny didn’t even give Amanda a single glance as she just focused on the drama she’s watching.

"Okay, after I take a shower"

And with that, Amanda made her way upstairs, and a minute later, the sound of the shower running sounded.
