Fate Online: Shadow

Chapter 144 - Dayum!

A Level 23 user with his hands wrapped in a white clothing, and armed with a pair of spiked gauntlets over it.

"Fist of the Hundred Gales"

The user sent a torrent of punches on the Troll he’s facing along with his team.

Roar!

The Mountain Troll roared angrily before it slumped on the ground as it died, and turned into a flicker of lights.

"Boss, look at this"

Suddenly, the Hunter in his team suddenly approached him and showed him something.

The hunter was showing him a video of Emma skillfully commanding the riff raff group of users against a small horde of ambushing monsters.

"Where was this?" the gauntlet wearing user, Pryton asked.

"It happened during the expedition quest inside the Forest of Despair at Sunrise Empire" the hunter respectfully replied.

"Look into her, invite her to join our guild. A talent like her should be for ours to take" Pryton said, and as a twenty four years old young man, he seemed particularly interested at Emma as he seems to not able to take his eyes off of her.

"Boss"

"Boss!"

"Wha..what?"

The hunter and the rest of his team were calling out to him together which startled the young man.

"It seems someone is lovestruck~" a Priestess chuckled.

"Shut it...I’m too old for her" Pryton said, as he glared towards her.

"How do you even know you’re too old for her? She’s clearly someone around your age" their Champion said, while looking at the video of Emma valiantly commanding the group of users against the group of monsters.

"Logan is right. Look at us, I’m twenty three but he’s five years older than me and it isn’t that bad" said the Priestess called Jaina, as she hugged the arm of the Champion and leaned her head on his shoulder.

"That’s not important. Do you guys see that player surrounded by a dark fog? What kind of skill is that?" Pryton said, trying to shift the topic to another subject.

When Pryton mentioned that, the rest quickly replayed the scenes of where Michael had rampaged in the fray of monsters for a few seconds.

"But not only that, did you guys noticed it? He was using a sword earlier but now he’s using a dagger when he retreated at the back" the Assassin who had been silent until now pointed at either the most important or suspicious point in the video.

"Interesting" Pryton muttered, then he turned away from the video and looked towards the Hunter and ordered, "This woman, do everything you can do for her to join our Guild, and the guy in the video. Look into him"

"Yes boss" the Hunter replied.

Pryton, he is the son of the biggest shareholder behind Wandering Souls, and with his superb skills and his family’s wealth, he was able to become the Guild Leader of Wandering Souls, who had led the guild last year and took the world cup from the previous virtual game who got overshadowed by Fate Online.

"What about the other guilds boss?" The Hunter asked one last time.

"You’re allowed to use as many resources as possible to recruit her. Players like her would very valuable when wars between guilds happens"

"Yes, I won’t disappoint!" the Hunter said excitedly before running off away from them.

"What the heck? This idiot! We’re in the middle of grinding, you bastard!" Jaina yelled angrily at the Hunter, while the latter just ignored her and headed back towards the nearest city while riding on the back of his bear mount.

The same episode is also happening at the rest of the nine major guilds and other big guilds in the world.

Black Skull Guild.

"No matter what you need to do, make sure she joins our guild!" a Cleric said to the woman in front of him.

"Yes sir!" the woman replied eagerly.

Kunlun Guild.

"I don’t care what methods you use, make sure the other guild does not get their hands on her!" an Assassin said while leaning on a tree.

"Yes leader"

"And also, look into that person who could possibly switch between weapons"

The cleric was about to turn around and walked away when the man called out one more task for him to do.

"Yes, I’ll have my men see to it"

Merchant Society.

"I’m not interested at the woman, I’m more interested in that person who’s able to come and go without receiving any damage from the monsters. Look into his identity, offer him to join us. I need a bodyguard with skills like that" a Priestess watched the video of Michael rampaging on the battlefield, her eyes full of interest towards him, especially when she saw his model like appearance.

’How handsome, a man like him is what I’m looking for. Handsome, skilled and brave’

Illusionaire Guild.

"Kill her if she doesn’t accept our offer" a masked man said while eating something in front of a campfire, while their surroundings are enveloped by darkness, with the moon being the only source of light in their surroundings.

"Kill her? In the real world?" an armored person said.

"You idiot! Do you want us dead!? I mean inside the game!" the masked man angrily yelled at him.

Night Remnant.

"I want her, and those other women beside her! I want them all!"

"Yes, look forward to it boss!"

War Angel and War Temple.

"This...isn’t that Shadow? How the heck did he get all the way to the Eastern Continent!?" Fallin Moon said with disbelief.

"Yes...there’s no mistaking it. That appearance, that annoying smile, that’s him!" Moon Bunny snorted hatefully.

"Isn’t that..isn’t that Emma?" Storm Breaker exclaimed in shock, that he even leaned his face very close to the video in front of him.

"You know her?" Falling Moon’s eyes lit up when she heard his mumbling.

"Hmmp! Know her? That’s my Aunt’s daughter! My damn cousin! She had never told me that she’s this skilled in leading troops" Storm Breaker snorted, but there was a clear delighted smile on his face.

"Quick! Call her! Make sure that the other guilds doesn’t get to her! Also send some people to look after her. I don’t want the same thing that happened before in the past happens again! Those damnable Illusionaire!" Falling Moon said with gritted teeth, her eyes spewing with hate when she remembered about the event where the people from Illusionaire plotted against them, causing the death of an up and coming expert that they had just recruited.

Storm Breaker suddenly smiled when he heard her, "Are you talking about that incident where the people from Illusionaire sent someone to kill that person?"

"Yeah, I’m worried that they’ll try to find out her identity in the real world instead, and try to kill her"

There was an incident that happened two years ago, it was about a very skilled players where the big guilds had fought over to get on their side, but just when War Angel had just successfully beaten their rivals and managed to sign a contract with that certain expert.

He was suddenly found dead the next day at his home, and after a thorough investigation on their side. They found out that the people behind the death of that expert was the people from Illusionaire, which almost caused the downfall of the Illusionaire Guild at that time, and if it wasn’t for someone shielding them from the pressure that’s coming at them from all sides, then there would be no Illusionaire Guild today.

After all, they broke the pact that what happens in the game, stays in the game, and to never bring their grudges in the real world and should instead settle it inside the game.

"If they do that, they would instead be inviting a huge trouble towards them" Storm Breaker grinned.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Falling Moon asked.

"Don’t tell anyone, but she’s the Guild Leader’s daughter"

Storm Breaker sent a PM towards her, instead of having the others around them hearing about it.

"She’s that old man’s daughter? That known Tyrant inside the game?" Falling Moon replied in disbelief.

"Hey, are two sending private messages towards each other?" Moon Bunny said to them, when she noticed that they’re not talking anymore but instead saw their expressions alternating to different emotions.

But the two just ignored her and continued their conversation.

"No way, is she really?"

"I’m not kidding, why do you think that I easily became an Elder when I just joined the guild for a year?"

"No freaking way, I never knew that old man secretly had a daughter"

"It’s not really a secret, my cousin just never like the thought of having people constantly buzzing around her, trying to get her attention. That’s the reason why she’s not really well known in our circle as she instead prefers living low key, and hanging out with her friends"

"It’s my first time hearing that there’s a girl like that who’d prefer living simply than grandly!" Falling Moon replied, as she suddenly had a great respect towards Emma.

After all, a girl like her who’s not easily blinded by the luxury around her is very rare in this era.

"Damn right there is! Even their house is just a simple two story house. Which you wouldn’t expect from someone who’s known as a Tycoon in the business world" Storm Breaker said proudly.

"Dayum!"
