Chapter 108: Festival Preparations [3]
"Uh… Aren't we getting too much attention?"
Brandon tried to ignore it as much as he could.
But no matter how much he tried to distract himself with his book, he could feel several gazes his way.
"Right… Where the hell is Belle?"
Amelia was quite embarrassed as well. And for a second, she could feel her face start to flush.
That was because…
"Woah, is that Amelia?"
"Who's that guy with her?"
"You live under a rock or something? That's Brandon Locke."
"No way, that's him?"
"What are the two of them doing together?"
And their gossiping went on and on. It wouldn't take a genius to know what they were trying to imply.
In the first place, the only reason why they were together in public was because Belle had asked them if the three could eat lunch together.
Since Brandon and Amelia were already together, the two decided to rendezvous at the meeting point.
The grassfields.
They had been sitting together for almost thirty minutes.
In fact, they had already finished their lunch.
And the whole time, Belle had yet to show up.
At this point, the two just wanted to leave before a scandal ensued.
Astrea students love gossiping after all.
The two were already fairly popular in their respective years.
Something was bound to happen eventually.
"...Should we just?"
"Yeah."
Amelia asked while Brandon immediately answered her.
And at that, the two went their separate ways.
***
A few minutes later.
"Hmm~ Hm~"
Galloping, Belle continued humming with a joyful smile on her face.
The basket on her hand swayed at each hop she took.
"Hmm—Uh?"
But her pleasant mood was soon broken and her face scrunched up.
Looking around, there was no one in sight.
She had told them that they were supposed to meet up at 12:30 PM.
So…
"Where…?"
She then glanced down at her phone and opened her text message with Brandon.
—I'm here, where are you?"
—Not there.
—I'm serious.
—You took too long, Sis.
Belle frowned. What did he mean, too long? She was there just in….
…Time?
"Ah."
As she scrolled up, her brows twitched.
What she thought she had texted was 12:30, was actually 11:30.
"..."
Embarrassed, she immediately closed the chat box and walked ahead.
Hopefully, no one saw what happened.
"Sob… Sob."
And her eyes started to moisten as she walked away.
***
The next day.
It would be the same for the month of August.
There would only be two lectures each day.
The entire afternoon was given to the students to make time to prepare for the festival.
Brandon stood on the podium as all eyes fell on him.
"We've discussed this during the last meeting. Please step forward and present your proposals."
Brandon had already debriefed his classmates during the last meeting on what would happen today.
Students were grouped into five, and would present their proposals on what the class should do during the festival.
Brandon gave the stage and sat on one of the seats in front of the podium.
He would act as a panelist alongside the officers that sat beside him.
Shortly after, a group of students stood on the podium and presented their proposals.
Their ideas were interesting.
But Brandon and the rest of the officers could agree that they couldn't stand out.
They needed something else.
Something more…
"This is the idea we've come up with."
Click—
Clicking on a white circular device, a hologram materialized behind the presenters.
"..."
It was…
A powerpoint presentation.
"We'd like to propose a maid cafe."
It was a common idea.
Nothing special.
"But with a twist. The main attraction will be…"
However, as the next slide switched, multiple gasps resounded in the lecture room.
"Tada~"
The slide presented the title screen, 'Maid Cafe'.
But that wasn't what caught everyone's attention.
There was an image of a figure that stood behind the title screen.
His pale-white hair came into view, as his ice-blue eyes lit up.
A faint blush was visible in his cheek, and…
He adorned a maid uniform.
It was an image of Brandon wearing a maid uniform.
"What the fuck…"
Brandon cursed under his breath.
And it was at that moment, when everyone's eyes widened in shock.
The same went for Brandon and a chill ran down his spine.
His brows twitched and he felt like wanting to leave the room in that instant.
Turning his head to the side, Rachel's eyes lit up as she covered her mouth.
"Oh my."
And from the other side, a strange sound escaped from Raven's mouth.
"Pfft…"
Brandon blankly stared at the ceiling with his mouth agape.
He could feel like his soul was leaving his body.
"No way. Why does he look good?!"
Reinhard was astonished at the sight. Brandon could see Reinhard's face flush a slight beet red.
"..."
"...He looks prettier than me."
"Smash."
"Not would, not will, but did."
Composing himself, Brandon gathered his thoughts. Frowning, his mouth parted open.
"Rejecte–"
"Accepted."
Before he could finish, Rachel interjected and flashed them a thumbs up.
"Accepted."
"Accepted."
.
.
And the rest followed her example.
All odds were against Brandon. It was a 1-6 difference. An overwhelming defeat.
And since the rules were set by him, the idea was final.
Class A would establish a maid cafe, with Brandon as its main attraction.
And to his horror, the presenters continued as he realized they were walking towards him.
"Actually, we've brought a prototype."
"..."
Oh no.
And thus Brandon tried to stand up.
To get away.
Far away from everyone.
Everyone, everything.
"This is a mistake—"
But before he could stand up, his body was pushed down back on the chair,
Looking up, Raven and Reinhard had both of their hands on his shoulders.
He tried to move, but it was to no avail.
A sudden chill ran down Brandon's spine as he looked at their eyes.
A sinister-like smirk escaped the two's lips and Brandon's entire body shuddered.
"Hehe."
And an ominous chuckle escaped their mouths.
As Brandon turned his head, the presenters had already appeared before him.
They held the maid uniform. For some reason, it was the appropriate size for Brandon.
"Stay still, Class Leader. It'll be quick and painless."
Just like Reinhard and Raven, the presenters had a sinister smirk marred on their faces.
"Hold him."
"No, no, no no….!"
*
Brandon stood on the podium. His eyes were detached, and there were barely any signs of life from him.
"It's even better in person!"
"Why does it actually suit him? I've tried maid uniforms myself. But he looks much better than me with it."
"He's so pretty…"
Comments and praises about his current appearance continued to ring in the air.
Brandon tried to not notice it, but some of his male classmates definitely had a nosebleed.
His arms were raised wide open, with Raven and Reinhard on both sides holding him.
Squinting her eyes and inching her chin, Rachel thoroughly scanned Brandon.
Nodding to herself, she pursed her lips.
"This could be a hit."
"Yes. With this, we could definitely reach first place."
Cyrus Rosewill chimed in from beside Rachel.
The officers continued to nod as they stared at the half-dead Brandon.
"Someone, take my picture!"
Click—!
Realizing that they were taking pictures with Brandon, Raven had a sudden idea.
One that made Brandon shudder in fear.
"We could offer this kind of service as well. A photo opportunity with Brandonella."
As those words left Raven's mouth, Brandon horridly turned his head and met his gaze.
His mouth twitched and a certain curse escaped his lips.
"Motherfuck—"
