102 Episode 100: Ships And Escorts
Port town Dollar Earth.
Seabirds are flying in the morning sun.
There was a dry dock on the shoreline a short distance from the harbor. It was a huge swimming pool where ships were built and repaired. There's a roof here. It also looked like a big warehouse.
Water is now drained and work is in progress.
There were people scrubbing shellfish and other things off the bottom of the boat, and workers painting them.
Hanging from the crane is a large outer ring.
A tall brunette was looking at the drawings and directing.
"Make sure the outer ring comes in the center of the hull. Otherwise, there is an 80% chance that the pivot will be affected. And then the drainage line, so that the wheel is just half."
I scratch up my long dark hair and exhale.
It was Dark giving instructions.
Tilt is helping with the renovation work. He was lightly carrying column-like wood on his shoulders with a small body.
I was watching it on the edge of the dock. There are no celicas. I had her run errands to Madam's shop.
Nevertheless, I still think you were right not to screw it. It would have taken some time to build a ship because the technology on site had not reached the standard and needed to be built from scratch.
Now I was remodeling a used sailboat that the king gave me.
The ship has a total length of about 30 meters. The type that can be moved by a sailor with two less masts.
The mast doesn't usually stand. As an emergency power when the outer ring is broken, it should be placed on top of each other.
Later work will be done if the rotational axis of the outer ring is combined with the rudder.
Today or tomorrow, I was going to be able to get into the water.
As I watched, a blue-haired young man in armor came to my side. He wears a robe and a mask that hides his eyes.
"Mr. Kaika, you're almost done"
"Leo. I didn't see him, but what's up?
"You heard at the tavern that a fishing village a little further away is having trouble with demons. I've exorcised you. In Kaika's proper name."
"... thank you, though. Aren't we doing too much?
"What does that mean?
"I was very welcome in the villages where I was going. Are you the masked brave man?"
"Hehe. It was Dark's idea. You seem to like it more than anything."
Leo grinned refreshingly, glowing his white teeth.
"Well, okay. - You wouldn't be exaggerating in that fishing village."
"A half-fish man took his village daughter and tried to reproduce her, so he just exorcised her. They all came back with their names."
"Hmm... is that all? I guess that would be so welcome..."
I remember the villages. An enthusiastic welcome. Hot gaze, especially from women.
Leo contemplates with his bright eyes beneath the mask pointed to the ground.
"Right...... the way I do it better. The woman who helped me often tells me that she wants to see her face, so she says, 'There's a situation and I can't reveal it now. All you can teach is your name,' he said, looking back only once as he walked away, 'Kaika the Brave. I don't mind you forgetting it tomorrow,' cause it feels like you're hiding in the dark."
"Or you're too cool. Ooh! You're gonna fall in love, that's not it!
"Really? If you don't keep this up, you'll soon be forgotten about names that aren't in shape, because Dark says there's a 99% chance."
"Uh-huh. Leo himself just plays a role without malice..."
- And Leo does it without losing his freshness wearing a mask, so it would work great.
I accidentally saw Dark taking command on the ship.
When I noticed my gaze, I shoved up my glasses and laughed.
Leo says worryingly.
"Couldn't you? Shall we be more normal?"
"... no, fine. Keep it up. But I'm glad you asked. I didn't think you were doing that."
"Okay. I will continue. Then I'll tell you the rest of the pattern."
"There's more."
According to Leo's description, the pattern of being forced to marry, the pattern of being about to be given a house or land, and the pattern of being forced to rush off with you anywhere.
The way those refused was quizzy at best. But if Leo did, I'm sure he wouldn't have hated it.
I said while holding my forehead.
"Okay. I'll deal with it from now on."
"Yes, thank you"
The blue eyes under the mask were smiling.
I changed the story forcefully because I felt kind of like I couldn't do it.
"And you're a half-fish man. The demons of the sea seem to be in trouble."
"Yeah, since Evil Squid died, he's been in a tribal, race-to-race, herd-to-herd state. The monsters will continue to kill each other until the next ruler of the sea is born."
It was like an evolutionary bump.
It's like a rat ate together in a dragon dungeon and a king rat was born. That's what's happening throughout the ocean.
By the way, it seems Evil Squid came out after the mayhem after the brave Lassan defeated Meteorwhale.
It should take strength and wisdom to fight through. I can also snort that I was different in character than the other demon kings, Four Heavenly Kings.
"Thanks to you, the rate of attack on ships is dramatically decreasing, which is a gratifying story for humans."
"Right. It will be a few years before the rulers show up, so it will be cheap for a while."
"Oh yeah. Leo and the others coming with us? On the peripheral continent."
"Um, what do you think? I hear there are only demons on the peripheral continent. This is Kaika, so I thought we should continue to help the villages."
"Do you like that? By the way, are the activities funded okay?
"Yes, you may get a job request, and the demon material you defeated is sufficient"
"Right. Tell me when you're short.... I'm not that good either."
I don't know the detailed amount because I leave the management of the gold to Celica.
Leo shook his blue hair and bowed his head.
"Okay, Mr. Kaika. Thank you for your concern."
- and.
On the sea side of the dock, on the watergate facing the sea, there was a man who would peek a little into his face.
Beautiful silver hair with red eyes. Yetulia had clear white skin. I can't see the lower body of the serpent because I have my hands on top of the water gate.
The workers were surprised for a moment to see Yeturia suddenly emerged. But soon I return to my work.
He's used to the presence of the Naga's.
Inside, you can wave to Yetulia and say, "Eh, why don't you go get a drink tonight?" Some young people are inviting others. Though he had turned it down fast.
I didn't know you'd look so close to the demon Naga and people so far.
It was a good trend.
Me and Leo walked to Watergate.
Yeturia looks at the ship to be renovated in the way she said she was intrigued.
"What's up, Yetulia? Anything wrong?
"No, Kaika. Will this get us to the next continent?
"Yes."
"Shouldn't we take the Naga's to the escort?
"I see. But with more high-speed ships, isn't it tough?
"No, no. There's about fifteen of us left."
I think arm in arm.
"Hmmm. It seems like a good idea at first sight... because I plan on going without a break this time. And it's too far. Let's stop it."
"Really? I don't have to go to bed for a week or so. If Kaika says so, we will obey."
"But you also have the job of escorting ocean ships. If there's more Naga, you can start it up."
Then Yetulia said.
"Actually, this is how I brought the story because I got a request for an escort. We discussed whether it would be better to escort Kaika, who was taken care of first than others."
"Oh, okay. New job. What's it about, by the way?
You're escorting us to the Sugar Islands.
Leo supplements from the side.
"You were just about five days southwest of Dollar Earth. You can take white sugar."
"Mm-hmm. They're taking the cereal from here. They've had so many demons so far, they couldn't get enough food."
"Hmm. Then prioritize that and make sure you deliver the food. Remember the name of the brave Kaika... yes! Leo and the others will come with us."
"Right. The Sugar Islands should be in trouble too."
"But does Naga not have to sleep for a week? Yetulia, I want to use only one of you on the lookout."
"Okay. Let's tell Dride. - Take care, Kaika."
Yeturia flips her white limbs into the sea. I glowed as my silver hair flowed in the sun.
That's when Gacon came from the ship! And a loud noise rang.
When I saw it, the outer ring had just been inserted into the axis exiting the center of the ship.
Leo squeaks.
"I've never seen it before. It's a cool ship."
"Oh, it's tedious and cool to be destined to disappear technologically quickly"
"Really... I'm glad I could see it moving with this eye"
"Right."
I watched the ship for a while before leaving the scene to the Leos to return to the inn.
