Chapter 220 New Trouble

CHAPTER 220
Hearing his sister's command, Kai Chen looked at his mother, waiting for her go-ahead signal before he obeyed and when her cheeks pulled back revealing an approving smile, he nodded at her and took his leave.
All the while Fang Daiyu's eyes never left him as his little self, scurried off to do as he was told.
"You spoil him too much mother," Fang Daiyu pointed out with her gaze still locked on the little lad.
"He is the key to Kai's fortune. Of course, I do."
"Hmm, then what of me? Aren't I also considered a useful asset to you in your quest for that fortune or have you forgotten all the roles I played?"
"How could I? You, my child, are very important as well, but more than anything, Kai Beifang can be controlled because of this male child."
As much as she wanted to laugh, Fang Daiyu knew best than to let it spill. Now was not the time.
"That my dear is the power and difference between you two. At least you can see it even with Andromeda. He cherishes Chen more."
Her chest fell with great effort hearing Andromeda's name and she shook her head.
Nevertheless, whether or not she was happy about it, the truth was the truth.
Her mother did have a point and she was capable enough to cause such a rift between the father and daughter pair.
"Anyways, do not doubt yourself," Fang Mei quickly dissed that conversation. The last thing she wanted was to start having such differentiation between both kids, even though she knew her actions caused it.
"Now, tell me, what bothers you?"
Gasping a bit from where she stood, Fang Daiyu heaved out deeply with her gaze centred on her mother as she proceeded to take her seat beside her mother.
She had not expected the change in tone from what her mother used. This time she was more serious.
"The fact that with all we've done, Andromeda's name keeps soaring high on the newspapers and the fashion industry is tiring."
Her eyes landed on the newspaper, using that to gesture to her mother about what she meant.
"Tell me about it," Fang Mei let out another sigh.
She was tired, mentally exhausted to say the least.
She did not know why no matter what she tried, Andromeda refused to die or just fall as her mother did. It gave her brain stress.
"Anyways, what is your boyfriend doing about this? I thought Andromeda offended him. Shouldn't he be going everywhere and doing all he can to bring her down?"
Sensing her mother's anticipation building up, Fang Daiyu avoided her questioning gaze as she lifted her hand to the back of her hair and scratched on her scalp for as long as she could.
All the while Fang Mei's eyes remained glued on her daughter.
This was important but the one who just claimed to be useful some minutes ago was shying away.
Gosh! She just had to do everything by herself, didn't she?
"Fang Daiyu, how many times did I call you?"
"Ma?"
"If you let me ask you again, Fang Dai…"
"Once mum," she interjected quickly as she straightened her back on her seat, facing her mother.
"Better," Fang Mei said giving her daughter the warning eye. "I thought the cat got your tongue. Now speak. What of Sun Jingyi?"
"He…" she took in a deeper breath to try and calm herself while mentally preparing for her mother's yell.
"He what?" Fang Mei questioned and this time her irritation was evident in her tone as she sent her daughter a deadly glare.
"Speak. Do not get on my nerves."
"Yes, mother. He isn't doing anything."
"He what!" Fang Mei forgot where she was and thundered in anger as she rose to her feet, staring wide eyes at her daughter.
Her disbelief was evident on her face as wrinkles began to form on her forehead.
Feeling the deadly aura seeping out of her mother, Fang Daiyu lowered her head quickly.
She felt bad she could not make Sun Jingyi do her bidding this time around and to make matters worse, it was during a period when she needed him.
"He is not doing anything? What the…" Fang Mei shook her head, ridding her mind of the thoughts coming in.
"How and since when did the young master of the Sun family suddenly become this nice? Huh? Since when did he become a coward to run from a woman?"
Just hearing her mother insult Sin Jingyi, Fang Daiyu could no longer take it and retaliated, in the best way she knew how.
Her eyes snapped up in a challenging manner as she glared back at her mother.
"He isn't nice, mother!" She took a breather then continued, "And most importantly, he isn't a coward," she enunciated with so much rage in her, shocking Fang Mei.
For some seconds she remained still while her once furrowed brows straightened out as she stared wide-eyed at her daughter.
Moments later, Fang Mei unclenched her hands, spreading her fingers by her side. She cleared her throat calmly as she pried open her lips to speak.
"Now, that is the kind of woman he should fear not Andromeda Kai," Fang Mei pointed out.
"He is. And he is not. However, this isn't up to him, mother. The Sun family has forbidden him to lay a finger on her."
"What?"
"Yes, mother."
"Why? Their family's name was greatly humiliated because of Andromeda. How can his father forgive that? Scratch that, what of his mother?"
Fang Daiyu shrugged as well. There was nothing no one could do at this point.
"I heard she was ruthless as well. I find it hard to believe that she would settle for less after having her last born being humiliated."
"Ultimately, they need something from the Liu's and not until the eldest son of the Sun family achieves that task, Andromeda is off limits. And who knows, they may let her be."
"How can?"
Fang Mei shook her head briefly as she tilted it slightly to the side while giving her mother the 'Really' look.
"Don't look at me that way. Answer me," Fang Mei demanded.
"Depends. It turns out she is dating a hot cake, Liu Xueyi. Of course, getting her hurt would be questionable, don't you think?"
Her eyes held a glint of mischief in them as she uttered with a seductive tone, rolling her eyes at her mother.
"Not that we can help it. Okay, even if we do not. No one said, setting her up and making good use of angry fans would do justice to the work."
Just listening to the idea her mother had, Fang Daiyu could not help replaying her mother's hint in her mind.
There were some good points there. No one said they had to do it themselves.
Looking for such fans would just be their only cup of tea and this was social media. They were everywhere.
"True. You have a point, mother. Since she came to the limelight, how about we use that fame to destroy her?" Fang Daiyu suggested.
"Sure. We would do such. In time, however. In time. Andromeda should beware."
