Chapter 199: Palkus’ Journey! Pause
The group had to walk for quite a distance and fight more monsters before they reached the lowest point of the cave.
The eerie feeling they've been feeling all along just got intensified a million times when they reached here. The party got serious and was on guard against anything that could attack.
The cave was dark—so dark to the point that Lorea's spell was no longer enough. She invested more mana in it and only then were they able to see a little.
"It's there!" Tuskina shouted, finally catching a glance at the hellish entity they've been following all along. The second the entity heard the voice, it got up.
*Crackle* *Crackle*
"Grigrigri, KYAAAAAAAA!" The nightwatcher started laughing eerily, then it screamed loudly.
"Fuck! It's loud." Adena shouted.
*Fwshhh*
Suddenly, total darkness consumed the room, making the group only able to see forward with their enhanced eyes, but definitely not good enough since not everybody here had sensing skills.
"The light!" Tuskina commented.
"I can't use the spell again. For heaven's sake, it must be an EX-rank." Lorea stated. Her expression ugly.
"Things just got a thousand time more complex." Allan said.
"Don't worry guys, I will light up the room." Palkus came to the rescue, as in a few seconds, he summoned his light law strings and formed a similar ball of light to Lorea's, lighting the cave once again and not leaving any room for the nightwatcher to mess with them again.
"KYAAAAAAAA!" The nightwatcher's screams once again echoed when Palkus lit up the area.
'Seems like it hates light a lot.' Palkus thought
"Ah, I can see much better than with the witch's." Adena, who was holding her ears said.
"Thank you." Hearing the loli's words, Lorea wasn't pleased.
"Guys, we have no time for such things, we can die if we're not serious." Allan stated.
"Nah, leave it to me." Palkus walked forward, tapping Allan's shoulder.
*Fwsh*
Out of nowhere, an abyss blade with neon gold engraving appeared on his hand, shining with fervor.
"What an ugly thing..." Finally able to see the nightwatcher well, Palkus was intimidated by its disturbing appearance.
It was a completely dark humanoid entity; it was bald, and its skin was disgusting to look at, like that of a bald chicken; its sclera was completely black too, while its pupils were purple; its body pulsed with violet cracks all around; long claws were on its skinny hands; and its feet were like those of a goat. Overall, any regular person who looked at it would feel intimidated and disgusted.
It was made like that.
"Grigrigrigri." The nightwatcher started approaching Palkus slowly, its body swaying right and left.
"KYAAAAAAA!" The second it screamed, its body disappeared.
"Palkus, we're helping. We won't let you fight alone." Allan announced, slowly walking towards Palkus. Not yet noticing the disappearance of the entity they were supposed to fight.
"Don't... You're going to die." Was all Palkus said. Fortunately, when the party saw how the nightwatcher was not visible anymore, they sat in their own place, knowing that they had absolutely no chance of even touching it.
"Is he going to be alright?" Tuskina asked Azeroth who she thought knew the most about the goman.
"The nightwatcher? I won't lie; I'm fearing for its life." Azeroth replied.
"I wasn't talk- Nevermind." Tuskina preferred not to continue speaking and just focused on the battle that was about to start.
Azeroth just smiled and looked at the battle too, thinking to himself that the blessed one of a monster should be even more of a monster.
'This thing is fast.' Palkus thought in his mind. He had a hard time following the nightwatcher, even with his senses.
'From the right.'
*Clank*
Blocking the slash of the hell entity, Palkus was thrown quite a distance behind before he balanced himself and fell to the floor.
*Clank*
Before he could even rest, another strike pushed him back further.
*Clank* *Clank* *Clank*
Strike after strike, Palkus was launched all around the cave.
{Chaos Boost}
Seeing the disadvantage he was in, Palkus decided to boost himself, something his master had never done. His senses got sharper, his muscles stronger, and overall, he was better.
Gazing forward, he could now see the blurry figure of the nightwatcher zigzagging through the large cave and approaching his left side.
*Tap* *Fwshhh*
With a single step on the floor, a large earth wall surfaced from the place Palkus' feet touched, stopping the nightwatcher in its place.
*Boom*
Not wasting the chance he made for himself, Palkus used his senses to pinpoint the exact location of the entity before he punched through the wall and onto its face.
*BOOOOOOM*
The strike was heavy, sending the skinny being like a ragdol across the cave until it hit the floor that was far on the other side.
*Crash*
Palkus squatted down, left hand on his blade, and launched himself forward.
*Fwshhh*
By the time the gomen crossed half the distance of the cave, the entity had balanced itself up.
"KYAAAAAAAAA!" It screamed in anger while staring at Palkus with its whole body and eyes glowing a blinding violet.
*SLASH*
With a slashing motion, the nightwatcher launched a huge purple slash, aiming it at the young man.
{Valenstein Celestial Swordsmanship: Unfated}
Using the spell a celestial once used against Draco and his comrades, the entity's slash disappeared like it was never there, and Palkus continued on his way.
{Valenstein Chaos Codex: Dead End!}
Palkus' eyes closed for a second before he opened them again, and for a second, they shone with a crimson light.
Clutching his sword's handle, Palkus was ready to end this battle once and for all. His law strings appeared once again, but this time there were many forming a mutli-colored wonder that concentrated around the sword.
"Grigrigri." The nightwatcher, seeing that its slash was useful, got annoyed. However, when it felt the pressure coming from Palkus, it got scared.
"Gri... Kyaaaaaa!" Its eyes opened in fear and it tried to flee, unfortunately for it, it was far too late.
*Slash* *Crackle* Crackle* *BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
------End------
