Chapter 152: Enslaving Horrifying Mandrake (a)
Finding it hard to believe that the true form of a horrifying creature was a cute little root with six legs, his eyes widened, a thoughtful look flashing across them. It might appear as a creature of terror to others, but in Elliot’s eyes, it was far graceful than his undead brothers. Of course, no one was better than them as they were loyal to a cause.
Then, his eyes narrowed! He chased after it. Stamping his feet, he reached closer to it.
Noticing Elliot nearing it, the horrifying mandrake picked up its pace.
Panicking as its dear was at stake but managing to keep calm, It moved its gingery legs methodically, prioritizing running away and hiding from the monster that was creeping up to it.
Its speed increased up to three times that of Elliot.
Of course, it didn’t have enough vitality or energy to keep moving at such a high speed for more than a minute or so.
Elliot’s brows drew together as he found it hard to digest the sudden increase in its speed.
However, with a closer look, one in which he imbued the power of his godly right eye, he found out that the horrifying mandrake had ignited a portion of its remaining vitality to gain that boost in its speed.
A moment later, he saw the horrifying mandrake charging into a field containing rows and rows of thick bundles of bushes with all its strength. How could he not know what it was planning? The dumb creature wanted to outsmart him by hiding into the half a mile long and similarly wide field, making finding it as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack.
A look appeared on Elliot’s face; this was one not of sanity but absolute obscenity, an odd mixture of scowling and disdain running through his eyes.
How can one fuck someone all over? The answer was as someone as the question itself. By letting them get what they want, then yanking them down from their high horse, down to the ground, down below one’s knees, down to the point where one could stomp all over them until death do them apart.
‘What expression would it make when that happens?’ Elliot thought, feeling a chill surging into his bones, feeling his psychotic self tingling up his spine and crawling into his mind. From the shine in his eyes to the way he smiles, everything about him changed as if a ghost had suddenly possessed him.
On the other hand, the little guy reached further into the field.
“Heh, heh, heh, I’ve submerged myself in the field of moonlight bushes. Not only is the moonlight reflecting off of them bright enough to blind one’s eyes, but there are so many and so tall that finding something as small as me inside of them is nigh impossible. I’ve successfully camouflaged myself from the bastard that destroyed my secondary body!”
Once the alpha in the ranks of spirit monsters, now a beta thought with an odd mixture of gleeful and murderous glint in its beady eyes, not knowing that he purposely let it go.
The horrifying mandrake was so immersed in its self-proclaimed victory that it closed its eyes, roaring laughter of delight ringing out of the hollow in the center of its root-like body.
‘I might’ve lost the battle, but I will the war! The horrifying mandrake thought as such since it believed that the only reason it lost to Elliot was letting its guard down and not taking him seriously enough.
Anyway, since its main body was alive, recovering its strength in a matter of weeks wasn’t much of a dream.
“Once I regain my strength, I will hunt him down, tear him apart from limbs to limbs, gorge out his eyes and pull out his tongue along with his innards, even if I have to chase him to the very corners of this land.”
Thoughts of revenge began to fill its mind. Oh, no! Of course, not! The mandrake didn’t have a brain, so it lacked a mind of its own, but it did have a soul, and it turned a shade darker, or so the monster believed when the moonlight in its surroundings dimmed and disappeared.
Silence and darkness filled its world for a before moment before glints of gold began to brighten up its world.
The horrifying mandrake had nearly fooled itself into believing that the anger and hatred enriching its corrupted soul has caused a new power to emerge in it. However, that ridiculous thought shattered as fast as it formed by the blinding rays of gold, types of light it had never seen in its life.
‘Eh? W-what is this?!”
It raised its head, only to see many golden clouds surging above the field like waves in the ocean, swirling and intertwining, taking the shape of five fingers, each big enough to poke an eye-catching hole in the sky.
[You’ve absorbed the essence of life from more than a dozen nightmares]
[You’ve gained 3200 units of the essence of life]
[You’ve absorbed all the lifespan that surged out of the Bloody Nightmare, the secondary body of the horrifying mandrake, and permeated the surrounding.]
[+4000 units of the essence of life]
[You had used 6000 units of the essence of life to materialize the extravagant picture in your mind into the fabric of reality]
A single hand of his creation imprisoned the mandrake in its shadow, just like how a single hand of Buddha trapped Sun Wukong,
The fingers dropped to the ground, penetrating its surface deeply, then pulling out not the bushes and the stalks of weeds but the field itself from the forest and bringing it high in the sky.
The fingers flipped the field upside down, causing the things on it to drop down to the ground due to gravity. Many things dropped from the floating field of many stuff, but none resembled the mandrake. However, Elliot was surprised to see a treasure box itself falling down the air and towards the spot several meters away from him.
