'What's happening?' 

Coughing a mouthful of blood all of a sudden was clearly out of his expectation. 

Eva also noticed the situation. She worriedly gazed at Ban as she caressed her cheek, in the bidst to sooth his pain, if he was feeling any. 

After coughing blood for a couple of times, Ban finally calmed down a little bit. At the same time, the passive ability of Greed- Absorber churned and absorbed some extra essence from the corpse of the Mild Tempered Crocodile, healing whatever injury that had caused him to cough out that blood. 

He turned his head towards Eva who was still rubbing his cheek worriedly. He felt touched seeing her loving and worried gaze. 

"I'm alright now, little Eva, thank you!" He said as he wiped the blood on his mouth. 

Ban proceeded to sit down on the root again a moment later. He also placed the F-Apprentice Rank Low Quality Beast Core on the root while Eva jumped to squat right in front of that Beast Core. 

Ban was still wondering what had gone wrong. He thought about all of the things he has done today and what he has eaten, trying to search for the real reason for him to cough out those blood. 

However, no matter how hard he thought, he could still not think of any reason why coughed those blood. 

He was certainly not injured during this day, the foods he ate were all just normal foods as well. 

While he was thinking rapidly, he suddenly noticed that the '!' icon on the corner of his eyes was now blinking, an indication that there was a System notification that needed to be seen. 

Ban thought that it should be related to his current situation so he no longer wasted any time as he 'clicked' on that exclamation point icon. 

The notifications was immediately presented to his eyes and uploaded to his brain, and to his surprise, there was actually more than one notification, 

And after understanding the content, Ban could not help but roll his eyes on the absurdity of the matter.

This notification repeated for a few times before a new one finally emerged.

For losing one of your Contracted Beast, you suffered a backlash and coughed a mouthful of blood.]

Ban pinched his forehead after reading those bunch of notifications. 

He felt a massive headache forming at this moment.

Forget about the Rogue Red Termite, but why did the System only notify him about this now? 

Did it change anything? Certainly not! 

For the first time in a while, Ban wanted to pull out the System and spank its butt for its late notifications. 

However, he calmed down a while later and got rid of those crazy thoughts. He was afraid the System might take it to heart and punish him for it. For the couple of days, he seems to have felt that the System was treating him quite well. He doesn't want to lose that feeling anytime soon. 

He calmed down his emotion as he allowed his consciousness to descend inside the Beast Tattoo to observe the current situation. 

Inside, he saw the Unknown Egg still lying calmly in its previous location. Beside it was a puddle of dark blood that clearly came from the now dead Rogue Red Termite. 

Seeing its situation, Ban actually did not blame the Beast for its action and even felt pity for the Beast. 

Imagine getting healed to your peak only to die a few hours later? 

The Rogue Red Termite was enticed by the Unknown Egg. The Rogue Red Termite was an E-Elite Rank Beast and an Elite Grade Beast. For it to still be enticed without having the ability to resist only means that the Unknown Egg was definitely not simple. 

Even now that it was still an Egg, it was already capable of enticing and consuming an E-Elite Rank Beast. 

Ban actually blamed himself a little for the termite's death. 

He let down his guard and stored the Unknown Egg inside the Beast Tattoo knowing that it was only an egg and doesn't have the capability to hurt anything around it. 

Although he was still mad about it, he could only shut up as he could do nothing about it anyway. 

Fortunately, his mood was alleviated by a large margin as another bunch of notifications was presented in front of his eyes. 

Ban was already thinking of retrieving the Unknown Egg outside the Beast Tattoo as there were still quite a few risks if he let it stay inside. Unless he successfully contracts it, he thought that treating it as an enemy was always the best choice. 

Fortunately, the new System notification this time rekindled his hope and alleviated his mood at the same time.
