After divorcing my celebrity wife, I became the world's richest person

Chapter 44: Chapter 44 Making Fish for My Husband

Chen Yu took a sip of water.

"No rush, let's decide on a shop name later."

"Chen, you're really laid back. Most people choose a lucky name before opening a store!"

While he was speaking, Zhang Fan looked around at the bustling shop, as if the name was no longer important.

Just then, two hesitant guys entered the store and found a corner to sit down.

They didn't order, just casually looked around.

Zhang Fan immediately sensed something was off, "Chen, those two guys..."

Chen Yu gestured dismissively, "They're from the breakfast shop down the street, they've been coming here a lot these days."

"They're obviously spies, why not kick them out?"

Chen Yu seemed indifferent, "Let it be, it's not like we'll lose a piece of flesh."

Zhang Fan immediately felt new respect for Chen Yu.

If it were anyone else, they would've lost their temper by now.

Zhang Fan didn't say much more, just took out a business card and handed it over.

"This sign maker is pretty good. Old Xie and I both had ours done there. If you need it, call them and say my name for a 20% discount!"

As soon as Chen Yu accepted it, Xie Jiang dashed into the shop, flustered.

"Chen, how long will it take to prepare three hundred fried cakes and a hundred vegetable pastries?"

Chen Yu quickly stood up, "They're ready now! Do you have guests at home? That's a big order."

Xie Jiang sighed, "The contractor who fitted out your place insists on eating your food, threatening to walk off the job if not."

Chen Yu smiled, quickly asking Chu Hong to pack for Xie Jiang.

Just then, someone from the garage next door was shouting for Zhang Fan's name.

It seemed that a customer had arrived.

Embarrassed, Zhang Fan excused himself and hurried back to the garage.

Xie Jiang, having paid for the fried cakes and vegetable pastries, also left in a hurry.

It looked like he was in a rush with his work too.

Chen Yu stretched languidly and glanced at the two people in the corner, a flicker of apology in his eyes.

The breakfast shops on this street were barely hanging on because of his business, and now it seemed the neighboring streets were affected, too.

But Chen Yu didn't think too much of it, after all, competition is part of doing business.

"Wow, there are so many customers so early."

Tang Xiaowei's voice suddenly arose beside him.

She was wearing a dolphin mascot costume, still seemingly groggy and looking quite adorable in her confusion.

Chen Yu was not surprised in the least, this girl's taste in clothing was always bizarre, as if living entirely in a comic book world.

Her appearance, however, did attract the attention of many customers.

"Not too many, we're already past the morning rush," Chen Yu replied. "Oh, by the way, I spoke to Auntie Li, she'll come over at twelve to take you to see the apartment."

"Thank you!" Tang Xiaowei rubbed her somewhat bleary eyes.

"Um, is there anything to eat? I'm so hungry."

Chen Yu quickly signaled Han Cai to get three vegetable pastries and five fried cakes from the counter.

Tang Xiaowei ate voraciously, without any concern for her image.

"Waking up to food is such a great feeling!"

After patting her satisfied belly, Tang Xiaowei hopped to the storefront to help attract customers.

She was no less pretty than Tong Ya, and her dolphin costume made her even more adorable.

Even several young girls came over to take photos with her.

At twelve o'clock noon, Auntie Li hurriedly arrived at the shop.

"Young Chen, you hired another server? Aren't the two apartments I gave you enough?"

Chen Yu hurriedly called Tang Xiaowei over.

"It's her, the one you met last time. She's the one who painted that mural over there."

"A painter!" Auntie Li was quite excited and eagerly took Tang Xiaowei's hand.

"Auntie happens to have a room that's perfect for you to live in."

As soon as Tang Xiaowei heard this, she hurriedly went to the third floor to bring down her luggage.

At that moment, the six girls were just about to take their noon break in the dormitory, so they all helped move Tang Xiaowei's luggage together.

Chen Yu stretched his limbs and then returned to the kitchen to keep working on the dough.

Given the current pace, by today they could make all the raw materials in the cold storage into semi-finished products.

Four in the afternoon.

The moment school let out, Tong Ya took Tuan Tuan straight to the farmers' market.

After browsing around for a while, she picked out a seafood shop that seemed quite decent.

"How much for this blackfish?" Tong Ya asked directly.

The fish seller was a woman in her forties.

"Larger blackfish, twenty-four per pound, smaller ones eighteen per pound!"

Tong Ya was somewhat confused; she rarely went to the farmers' market to buy groceries and didn't know there was such a distinction for blackfish.

"What's the difference?"

"Actually, there's not much of a difference, it mainly depends on how you want to eat it," the vendor explained.

Tong Ya hesitated slightly, "It's for my man... husband to make a nourishing soup."

As she said this, Tong Ya's face turned as red as blood.

Surprise was clearly written on Tuan Tuan's little face.

She didn't care much about that and quickly echoed, "Yes, it's for making a nourishing soup for my dad."

The vendor smiled, giving her a knowing look.

Then she scooped up a big fish, processed it on the spot, and turned it into large chunks suitable for making stew.

Immediately after, she grabbed two ready-made seasoning packets from the side.

"Just put this packet directly into the pot when you get back; you don't need to add anything else, just a bit of cooking wine," she said.

Tong Ya was somewhat surprised; she hadn't expected the sellers to be so user-friendly these days.

"Thank you, big sister."

After that, Tong Ya went on to a vegetable stall and bought some meat and vegetables, perfect for making the staff meal that evening.

At five in the afternoon, Tong Ya returned to the shop with Tuan Tuan.

Though the shop was bustling with a sea of people, it had become more orderly compared to before.

Chen Yu had already rearranged the staff.

Chu Hong was in charge of the first-floor kitchen, Zhao Meng took care of the front hall on the first floor.

Li Yu handled the second-floor kitchen, while Han Cai was responsible for the second-floor hall.

Zhang Qian stayed at the bar.

Su Qing was still in the first-floor kitchen working on semi-finished products.

Moreover, at noon, Chen Yu had upgraded the ordering system.

He made a clear division between the first and second floors.

From now on, second-floor customers wouldn't need to run up and down anymore.

Tong Ya quickly took the meat and vegetables she bought back to the first-floor kitchen.

"I'll make the staff meal today; I bought some fish, too."

Chen Yu frowned slightly, "You bought the staff meal with your own money?"

Seeing a hint of annoyance on Chen Yu's face, Tong Ya stood there as obedient as a child.

"I thought it would be convenient on my way back, so I bought some!"

Chen Yu breathed a sigh of relief, "It's okay, what's done is done, but however much money you spent, take the same amount from the bar later."

Tong Ya wanted to refuse; in her eyes, everything she had belonged to Chen Yu.

Spending her own money on a staff meal seemed trivial to her.

But then she thought about it, this seemed to be about the relationship between the shop and the individual.

Business and personal matters shouldn't be mixed.

"Alright, I'll go get it right away."
