Chapter 1664  Persistent!

Grey's grandmother seemed to have sensed his gaze and she turned to look at her grandson, she smiled softly at him. 'Why's this kid looking at me?' She couldn't push away the feeling she got when Grey was staring at her, it was one of a predator watching his prey. She didn't want to think too much about it, so after her smile she focused on her husband and daughter. Martha walked up to Grey as they followed behind her father. "He's taking you to a good place, you will benefit a lot from it." She whispered to Grey. "A secret realm?" Grey raised a brow, this was the biggest assets of these top Families, and each Family has their own unique secret realms that makes them this powerful. "Yes, but it's not like the ordinary ones where all you do is fight. Of course there are a few challenges, but given your abilities, you should be fine." Martha explained. She too has been to this place, and she was a hundred percent certain that she wasn't on the same level as Grey in terms of talent. "Oh… I guess I have to see what this place holds for me." Grey was a little expectant for this secret realm. Since even his mother rated it very highly, then it must be good for him. …. The group of four left the arena and headed deeper into the Lyttelton Manor. They soon arrived at the designated place, Grey looked at the portal that was just lying there unguarded. Well, not just one portal, but three portals to be precise. All three were just there unguarded. Martha sensed Grey's curiosity about why it wasn't being protected.

"No one would dare to come here and cause trouble." A hint of pride could be sensed from her voice, after all, coming from a Family with such a rich history isn't something one shouldn't be proud of, her father might have his flaws, but it doesn't take away the fact that the Lyttelton Family is still one of the very top Family. "There are a few things even we still don't know much of. There are a few other old Families just like mine, some are even older than mine. And they hold more secrets, I believe that there are a few geniuses there that might be able to hold their own against you. Even my Family has one." Martha said to Grey.

The biggest forces in the Aurora Continent are those who are hidden. Those ancient forces have been standing for hundreds of thousands of years, all of them are descendants of God Plane Elementalists. The Lyttelton Family is said to have produced a God Plane Elementalist thousands of years ago, but it's all in the past now since there hasn't been any God Plane Elementalist in the human world for a long long time now.

Martha didn't have the time to teach Grey about this right now, maybe some other time she would tell her about the history of the Aurora Continent. Most of it is written in books and knowing that Grey is a bookworm, he might've probably read about them. However, the most important parts are always omitted, after all, these ancient Families didn't want their secrets out in the open in this manner. The few books which had a few things about these Families have been destroyed by these secret forces. Grey waited patiently for his grandfather to speak. "You can enter any of the three." Grey's grandfather's words caught him off guard. "Are they all the same?" He questioned curiously. "No." "Can I enter the other two after entering one of them?" "Well, you see, these three portals are quite tricky. They interchange after each entry. There are people who are fortunate enough to enter all three, your mother there being one of the few people. However, most people can only enter one, and those who are really lucky can get into two." He listened to his grandfather's explanation, from what he could tell, even his grandfather didn't seem to understand why the portals are like that, but he didn't mind. Even if he was only able to enter one of them, he was satisfied with it. He didn't come here to enter a secret realm but to learn about inscriptions, this is more like an added bonus. 'It sure is nice coming from such a big Family.' He thought to himself as he stepped forward. He took in a deep breath and without thinking, he went straight for the one in the middle. A second later. "Huh?" Grey, his mother, and grandparents looked at the scene before them a little bemused. Grey's figure which was supposed to have passed through the portal by now was left standing in the same spot, unable to get into the portal. He couldn't enter. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

He looked behind him a bit confused, "Is this normal?" His grandfather told him about the unique nature of the three portals, so he felt maybe this was normal and it wasn't that simple to step into the portal. To his greatest shock, he saw shock in the faces of the trio behind him, which gave him the answer he was searching for, this wasn't a normal thing. "Dad, has something like this ever happened?" Martha looked to her father, who shook his head to her question. Grey wanted to turn around, but then he looked at the portal. 'There's no way I'm leaving here empty handed.' This was a good opportunity for him to get something that will increase his strength, there's no way he would be denied entry because of the portal's unwillingness to let him in. Grey went to the one on the left, and the result was the same, he went to the one on the right, and the result was the same. He didn't stop there, he started the process once again, tried entering the middle one, and then the one on the left and then the one on the right. A minute later, there was a reaction.

The portals shook vigorously, and when Grey attempted it once again, he noticed that he could partially force his finger into it. 'Haha, you think you can stop me?' He became even more confident now, since his finger can go through, then for sure he would be able to force his way into the portal. All that mattered was getting in, he didn't believe it would be hard for him to come out of it. Grey's grandparents were a little taken aback when Grey started trying each of them out one by one. His grandfather was about to tell him to give up when he saw that there was a reaction, although Grey hadn't been taken in, it didn't change the fact that now there was hope. 'Persistent.'

This was the only thing they could all pick up from Grey's repeated attempts. Most people would give up immediately after trying all three and seeing that none of them budged, but Grey was different, he only not give up after that, he tried them over and over again, and after multiple attempts, there are signs that he would be able to get in. To a certain extent, this could also be said to be a form of trial for him. Since there are signs that he might be able to enter, then there's a chance he might be able to get something no one has ever been able to get before. Grey was energized after getting the first reaction and continued once again. This time, he started calculating after completing each set of three. He studied the process and then he tried another way, this time, starting from the left, then middle, and then right. After that set, he thought about the reactions he got from the last one and then started from it during the next attempt. A few minutes later, Grey's figure was almost through the portal. He had tried all three in different variations, and almost every way he could think of, and finally, his body was about to pass through the middle one after trying for so long. His grandparents were a bit excited for him seeing this, his mother was evidently more happy seeing that the portal couldn't stop Grey from going in.

More than half of Grey's body had gone into the portal when something strange happened. Grey's face was already inside so there was no way for him to know what was happening outside, but the eyes of his grandparents and mother were about to bulge out from what they were seeing before them.

Martha walked closer to her father, worried, "Dad, is that normal?"

Her voice was that of a teenage girl who saw something that scared her and wanted the protection of her father. Martha's father was also in shock as he looked at his worried daughter. A second ago they were happy Grey had succeeded and was about to enter the portal. Now, they are not so sure if it was a good thing.
