Type conversion and assassins
Type conversion and assassins
I was good but I wasn't that good and as a result it was a slow process for me. The same couldn't be said for the little one however as he felt a type of energy and mimicked it easily. I honestly don't know what came over me when I thought trying to make comparisons with the little one in terms of progress was a good idea. All I got was a harsh lesson on reality and could only drop that idea immediately. He was a natural at energy manipulation which should have been expected in hindsight.-
The little one was a variant that was comprised of all the other variations minus perhaps the legendary one after all and that meant in terms of potential and talent he didn't lose out to any pokemon in any regard. In the same vein however he also didn't seem to realize just how far ahead of the curve he was compared to normal pokemon due to my team being freakish to begin with. All the little one had known and been familiar with was my team where it's full power was more cute than threatening but if any other baby pokemon was subjected to playing with him it would get ugly fast.-
Hades didn't count as a baby pokemon if you were thinking about it as an example of how that was untrue. Spiritomb were born fully mature due to the unique method they come into existence and as a result have the stats to back it up but lack the actual life experience of a pokemon that grew up from an egg. This was actually the only reason Hades couldn't be considered elite level in fact as in terms of raw power it was already there but simply had no real clue how to use it.

As was clear from Hades status sheet in terms of power it was up there. But at the same time it's level was a mere fifty due to it's inexperience at using that power properly. At the same time though this wasn't a bad starting point at all since just the instinctual knowledge of it's own power was enough to place it at six or seven tier dangerous.-
Anyways while the little one was breezing through the type training I was giving my best effort just to convert a spark of type energy at any given time. Despite my large energy reserve I was still straining myself with over drafting it during this training. I should also mention that I had tried to find a replacement handle for my spearhead but the damn thing burnt up any handle I put on it. Keep in mind that was despite using fire resistant wood native to this part of Hoenn.-
When I say fire resistant I mean like you throw it in a bonfire for an hour and you can take it out and scrape off the charred exterior to reveal perfectly fine wood. Shit was expensive too as it took years for each tree to grow to a harvestable size and there were only so many trees. It was cheapest here in Lavaridge where it originated but by no means was the price small. Not that I was short on cash mind you as the cash was rolling in from the tm sales at the end of each day.-
At the moment I had nearly a billion poke to my name and that amount was increasing constantly as Mr. Stone got cross regional requests for the tm in almost every region the league was active in. For those curious to know the going price of the tm was five thousand poke in Hoenn(unless you were the Joy clan) and ten thousand or higher in the regions further and further from us. Still substantial wealth aside I tried to be frugal and only spend what I absolutely felt was necessary at any given moment.-
The few expensive things I did purchase was ingredients for my alchemy or things to feed my team since I made sure they got what they needed for optimal growth and training. The weird thing was that the spearhead wasn't even hot , like at all. The only time that changed was when I ran aura through it and it converted the aura to fire and steel type energies. It didn't take a genius to figure out that this had something to do with the refinement it got from Heatrans dying moments.-
I ended up getting a sort of exhibition match with Flannery at the end of the week that I hadn't asked for but was perfectly content to participate in. She hadn't spoken with me since the hotsprings but had sent warning of some shady folks that came to town and were probably here for me. Oh yeah I had a bounty out on my head in the criminal underworld , not a bad amount either at two million poke. I wasn't sure who posted it but I had a pretty good idea it was someone unhappy with my tm sales , likely an alchemist of some sort.-
I wasn't worried about it though as almost every member of my team would be more than happy to murder anyone stupid enough to try and snatch the bounty on my head. I even planned to leave the corpses as a warning to the next would be assassins , as for the condition of said corpses well my team wasn't known for being gentle so likely in many pieces. The cherry on top? I could blame all of this brutality on the Joy clan. It was basically that old crones fault these assassins came after me so it was by extension the Joy clans fault.-
It was almost enough to make me want to personally pay them a visit to see the looks on their faces when they realize this. The assassins hadn't tried to attack me yet while I was near Lavaridge though which made sense considering Flannery's close proximity in the chance they failed. Not to mention the risk of me escaping back to the city and holing up. I wouldn't but it was still a valid concern in any other targets situation. It was clear they were instead waiting for me to leave the city good and proper to strike.-
They wouldn't need to wait long though as I walked into the gym on Friday for my match knowing that I wasn't going to stick around Lavaridge afterwards. The gym was absolutely packed by the way as there was quite a bit of hype around this exhibition match. The running idea behind this match was to help people focus on something other than the recent disaster. I was an up and coming pokemon master and Flannery was a gym leader so we were going to be having a three vs three bout as intense as possible.
