168 Ch. 168 Is This The End?
If she were currently in her best prime, Anxia’s agility and skill would greatly help her beat the man who had shot her sister. Fortunately, Anxia could still think clearly and see, apart from the long gun strapped behind the man’s back, Xuemin was carrying a small firearm under his long black coat.
Before Anxia could throw a punch at Xuemin, the man would shoot her first. Therefore Anxia decided to stay silent and not move to attack him.
“You don’t have to intervene in my affair.”
Xuemin snorted sarcastically at that but didn’t argue. “Qiao Qiao, right now you’re injured. Isn’t it about time you went back to your rich husband?”
Anxia’s forehead creased disapprovingly when she heard the man’s disdainful tone.
“I don’t understand why you married him. You even have to take care of the child. Don’t you want to have children of your own?”
‘Lori is my biological child!’ Anxia protested in her heart while still keeping a straight face.
Luckily Lori’s face was more relative to Richard’s than hers. The little girl’s bright blonde hair and distinctive western look made everyone think that Lori was not Anxia’s birth child.
“Stop your nonsense Wang Xuemin. I know it was Master Yu who sent you here. What do you want? Going after Michele’s life wasn’t part of your agenda in coming here.”
.....
“Like always, you know me well. Shouldn’t you be with me? We have a lot in common, Qiao Qiao. It’s still possible to come back and live with me. Master Yu also wants you back.”
Anxia clenched her fist, hearing that string of nonsensical words. Return to master Yu? Living with Xuemin? Hmph! She’d rather die than do those two ideas.
“What do you want?” Anxia hissed, holding back her anger because Xuemin acted like he was stalling for time. Anxia’s heart suddenly stopped beating when she realized this possibility.
She had walked into a trap!
Anxia turned to get out of this place, but a bulky towering man appeared suddenly and blocked her way out. Not only did that monstrous man appear, but other people she didn’t recognize emerged out of anywhere to surround her.
Damn! If only Anxia’s hand had not been injured, she could move freely and beat up these dozens of people. But right now, her hand was injured, she didn’t have any weapons to defend herself, and Anxia had no way out.
“Qiao Qiao, you know why master Yu wants you back. If you still want to live and return to your peaceful, loving family, you better give that thing.”
Anxia bit the inside of her cheek in frustration.
“I don’t have it.”
“Still lying?”
“I threw it into the middle of the ocean as soon as I decided to leave the triad. The chip is not in me!”
“Hm… master Yu already expected you to say something like that. That’s why he left a message for me. ‘I believe you’ve dumped the chip in the middle of nowhere. But I can’t believe you didn’t save it in your brain.’ That was what he said.”
Hearing Master Yu’s message pass through Xuemin’s mouth made Anxia pale.
“Qiao Qiao. The chip may indeed be gone. But you have memorized its contents. Master Yu wants that chip to disappear from the face of the earth, and that means….” Xuemin’s eyes became dark and cold to the point of piercing one’s soul as he stared straight into Anxia’s black eyes. “You must disappear from this world.”
As soon as Xuemin finished saying his last words, one of the people who surrounded Anxia moved toward her while swinging a staff up to hit Anxia. Anxia dodged by bending and turning. She could also avoid a second person’s stick and thrust her foot back to kick a third person.
She expertly didn’t apply too much pressure to her injured right hand and maximized her fists on her left hand and both legs.
When four people came to attack her simultaneously, Anxia threw her left hand around one of the attackers’ necks, then jumped and seemed to walk in the air while kicking the other three people with her two legs. Then she spins with a somersault until her legs wrap around the neck, strangling the person with her legs and grabbing his baton.
As soon as Anxia got the beating stick, she swung without hesitation with her left hand and beat the attackers who surrounded her one by one. Occasionally Anxia glanced at Xuemin, who hadn’t moved from his position like he was watching a play. Anxia didn’t understand why the man didn’t take the gun and kill her immediately.
Wasn’t that man’s purpose in coming here to eliminate her on master Yu’s orders? Isn’t this a golden opportunity because Anxia’s concentration was divided, and now she was more focused on defending herself from the attackers’ siege?
Wang Xuemin was the best marksman she had ever known. She was sure once Xuemin took her as her target, Anxia wouldn’t be able to dodge the bullets that man launched.
Anxia couldn’t help but increase her instincts and alertness. She had to be prepared if there was any movement from the man to shoot her. However, Anxia had already lost a lot of blood. Her complexion had turned pale, and her stamina was at its limit. Her sensory functions began to wane, and she didn’t realize someone had managed to find her blind spot and hit her back so hard that she coughed up blood.
Anxia’s body was pushed forward, but she concentrated her weight on her right leg so she wouldn’t fall. Just as she was about to turn around to attack, another punch hit the gunshot wound on her right shoulder, causing Anxia to groan in pain, weakening her strength. The attackers moved to hit her in the legs and head simultaneously, seeing her fragile moment.
A bullet shot sounded when the bat was swung and ready to land on their respective targets. Not only one but several others following one bullet made Anxia close her eyes.
In the end, Xuemin started to react and fired his bullets at her. Anxia still wanted to be with Richard and Lori, and she was about to mend her relationship with Michele. Alas... fate had another plan for her.
A bitter smile emerged from her lips.
‘I knew it. I don’t deserve to be in the middle of the warm Calvin family. I’m sorry, Richie.’
