Volume 3 Chapter 47: Manager
Toss in some butter, and it will be incredible. Keith basted the steak with butter. As he did this, the three were excited as they stared in marvel.
They could smell the rich aroma of butter.
Aidiun questioned the two, "Is this what you guys eat when you head to the Marquis's home?" Cadmus and Sohma, from time to time, leave the academy to go somewhere. From how they looked, they had the same expression as right now.
"This is a little different. Keith is making something new," Sohma remarked. The garlic bread was something new. The three stared at the stove.
The smell of the steak was intense.
But the one coming from the oven was even better!
"Keith! Is it done yet?!" Cadmus roared! It had to be finished, right?! The smell was too delicious!
"It should be finished," Keith nodded as he placed the steaks on plates. He scooped some tomato soup into bowls.
He put the plates in front of Cadmus and the rest.
Cadmus reached his hands out, but Sohma slapped him, "Mind your manners!" Are you a child?!
"I'm hungry!"
"I just need to take the bread out of the oven, and we can eat," Keith laughed as he took the bread out. And when he did, everyone stared at the bread. It was golden and crispy on the top!
"Let's eat now!" Without a second later, everyone started to dine!
"So good!"
"Delicious!"
Those were the only words they had for Keith. Keith smiled as he looked at Fira and Aria. Aria ate like no tomorrow, while Fira ate the garlic bread.
One slice of garlic bread was bigger than her head! But she was munching on it like no tomorrow!
"Dip the bread into the tomato soup. It will soften it up," Keith smiled. Fira did that. When she ate it this time, her eyes sparkled!
"So good!" Seeing the little fairy eating like no tomorrow, the three followed her lead.
"It's crunchy and soft at the same time!" Cadmus roared!
The tomato soup was the perfect match for the garlic butter bread! While they were eating, Aidiun was in awe of all the food.
No wonder those two kept smiling when they went to the Marquis's home. It wasn't a shock now. After finishing their food,
"Grandpa Cadmus, do you have more of those bracelets?" Keith questioned.
"Hmm? Why do you need more?" Cadmus tilted his head.
"Oh, it's because I got used to it." Keith moved his hand back and forth. He had gotten used to the four bracelets.
He was able to fight like he wasn't wearing them.
"Sure, I have some on me," Cadmus took out more bracelets for him to use.
"You're wearing gravity bracelets?" Aidiun blinked when he saw that. Keith placed extra pairs onto his legs and arms and nodded, "Yes. Grandpa Cadmus said it was great training." Keith's expression changed when he placed them on.
"How do you feel, Keith?" Sohma questioned.
"I'm alright. It's like having extra pounds placed on my body. But it's not like the first time I wore it," Keith smiled. He could move around, unlike the first time he wore it.
After eating all the food, Cadmus and the two waved their goodbyes. Before he left, Cadmus handed ownership of the island to him. Keith knew it was time to go to bed.
While he went to sleep in the tent, Keith brought Aria and Fira in, "Aria, there's no need to worry. This place is our home." There was no need for Aria to stay out and search for enemies. This island was theirs.
"Ho," Hearing that, Aria didn't hesitate to sleep beside him.
"Aria is so fluffy," Fira hugged the owl as well.
...
Cadmus and the two left the island. As they returned,
"That child is strange," Aidiun stated as he stared at Cadmus and Sohma.
"Kid is always like that."
"But shouldn't he be disgusted with me?" Aidiun stated with a tense look. Sohma shook his head,
"Keith doesn't really care about things like that,"
"I see,"
"By the way, do you want to be the island's manager?"
"Eh?" Aidiun tilted his head.
All islands need to have a professor as a manager to watch over it. Keith's island didn't have one.
"But is Keith fine with it? After all, I'm an elf,"
"He doesn't care," "Yeah," The two agreed.
"If he says yes, I'm alright with being his manager."
