A Fallen Knight-Lost art of Necromancy

Chapter 192: Saviour

Chapter 192: Saviour

Nothing changed.

A week had passed since Severus had started visiting the library. Each day he would follow the same schedule and burn the midnight oil. He had already finished most of the books on all four floors.

Today he was going to inspect the fifth floor. He had already prepared himself for any casualties today. This week had been boring for him and to his surprise, neither Minya nor Moon paid any visit. It was as if they both were avoiding him.

But why?

This doesn't make sense.

Severus was clueless. The only thing he could do was to rely on himself as well on Noworry. Severus disclosed the information given by the moon to him. Well, noworry was surprised when he heard the complete story. Severus expected fear in his eyes but to Severus' shock, noworry didn't fear. He not only calmly listened but also nodded his head in understanding. Lately, he had not been following Severus. He said that he wanted to explore the Znye kingdom. This way they can stumble upon truth faster than searching in the old books.

Severus readily agreed.

He himself was tired from all the studying that he had been doing past week.

As usual, Noworry didn't follow him but Uze and Rze did.

Rze lately had been more friendly towards Severus while Uze was Uze.

Severus was happy to mingle with Rze as he got to know a lot about the crown prince and twelve knights. However, no matter how many times Severus asked about the detailed information on twelve knights, Rze always managed to twist the conversation.

He was very tight-lipped about it.

In fear that he would feel suspicious, Severus didn't pester on the topic of conversation.

It feels like he needs to do it hard way.

Soon they reached the colossal library.

He had to admit that whenever he sees the building, he is filled with awe for the craftsmanship. Severus wasn't fond of art but this was something that he came to fond of.

Something interesting happened today.

When Severus asked Rze and Uze to follow him up on the fifth floor, they both declined. They told him that, the crown prince has banned them from entering the fifth floor. Only Severus was the one who could enter inside the fifth floor.

Severus felt it was odd but didn't harp on it.

He took the keys from them and started climbing the stairs. Everything was normal until he reached the door.

Severus noticed that the door on the fifth floor was old and rusty. It was a huge contrast with the exquisite building. Every nook and corner of this library was furnished with the best leather and wallpaper.

Even the bookshelves here were made of teak wood. So, this was rather bizarre.

The front door was made up of concrete with a tiny golden keyhole in it. It looked old but heavy. As Severus touched it, his fingers caught the dust. He quickly used his handkerchief to clean his fingers.

He frowned with disgust.

With further ado, he inserted the key and unlocked the door.

Tick!

The lock unlocked and when it did, the heavy door started moving. Severus immediately took a step back and the door started sliding. It completely vanished in the wall just like a sliding door.

Due to the movement, a heavy amount of dust came off from the door. Severus used his handkerchief to cover his face. He waited for the dust to settle first.

Soon dust settled and everything came into his view but the view itself was unsightly. The room was dark pitched with Zero visibility.

Severus frowned as he started searching for any source of light. He nearby found a lantern hung on the other side of the railing. He quickly went down and brought the lantern up with himself and entered the room.

The room was nothing as he imagined. It was more like a dungeon. He wondered why no one ever cleaned the palace. Severus remembered Rze saying that once in a year the Crown prince would come to clean this place.

If he really did clean the palace then what was all this?

Why was it so dusty?

Severus failed to understand it.

He was sure there might be some sort of device for lighting or any window. If Minya used to come here, then he surely wouldn't clean this room in darkness. He just needs to find it.

The first half-hour Servers just explored the room and noticed that this room was very compact compared to another floor but why?

If someone looked at it from outside, they wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but Severus could feel it. He was unsure why neither the crown prince nor Moon told him about it. It was a critical piece of information.

He was sure, being the guardian spirit Moon would know about it and as the only person visiting this room, Minya would also be aware of it too.

So why?

Was something the matter with this room?

This thought made Severus' scalp go numb.

Rze said that Minya used to clean this room.

Didn't he?

He didn't dare imagine the crown prince of the kingdom with a broom in his hand. Perhaps he was mistaken.

The cleanliness he mentioned was not cleaning the room but purifying this room. Sure, something was here that needed to be controlled but what could it be?

What could be more bizarre than the guardian spirit?

Severus felt like he was tricked but there was nothing he could do about it now.

How idiot can he be?

Severus cursed himself.

What if everything that he was told nothing but a lie?

What if the guardian spirit, as well as the Crown prince, were not the arch-enemies but allies?

What if they both planned everything?

Severus' skin crawled when he thought about it.

If his suspicion was true, then he had just been led by the nose and willingly came to the dragon's lair. Even Noworry wasn't here with him.

He was all alone and on his own.

As Severus was analyzing everything, he noticed an exquisite jade vase placed on a stool. Severed hesitated but in the end decided to take a look at it.

It was a clean-cut vase which was the only thing in the entire room that was clean. Not even a speck of dust was on it, which further intrigued Severus.

How was it possible to have a clean vase here in this dusty room?  Not like anyone was allowed to come inside this room so how?

This was sure an intriguing mystery.

Severus picked up the vase and noticed that soon fingerprints on it started imprinting on the vase.

Severus was scared stiff.

It was impossible that it was his fingerprints since he had just picked it up but if it's not his, then whose fingerprints, were they?

As he was dazed in his thought, he failed to notice a pair of eyes eyeing him. The eyes noticed his each and every movement and when he was sure that Severus had let his guard down, he came out from the shadows and aimed straight at Severus.

Severus hard shuffled noises from his back but before he could turn back, he was pushed by an invisible force.

Guhah

He groaned in pain but soon he saw the bizarre existence in front of him. A human shape body wrapped in white badges was walking towards him. The only thing visible was his deep maroon eyes which looked black and his chapped lips.

It was a mummy.

But how come a mummy?

Wasn't it supposed to be inside a casket and buried several feet inside the ground?

Severus was confused. He quickly unsheathed his sword as the mummy charged towards him, but an invisible barrier stopped it.

No matter how hard the mummy scratched it, he just wasn't able to touch Severus. Not only him but even Servers failed to land a strike on him.

What was happening?

It was as if he was being protected with the help of an invisible barrier. As he was still thinking about it, he noticed everything around him turning purple. White lights blinded him as he used his hands to shield his face.

The same thing was happening with him.

A few seconds later the intensity of the light died, and Severus opened his eyes. He was stunned when he saw the familiar surroundings. A calm place.

He was in the middle of the garden shaded by orchid trees. A middle-size villa was standing behind him and in front of him, there was a grand white garden table. A teapot and saucers were placed on it. There were even some snacks placed there.

A chilling day if someone had to describe it.

To Severus' horror, he saw the similar old lady sitting there, sipping her tea.

Who else it can be?

It was Glen.

The old lady who they met on Hui Island. He still remembers her magic to create her own space inside the real space. It was a worthy trick, but the question was, what was she even doing here?

Was she the one who saved him?

From the smile of her, it seems like it was the case.

Severus sighed,
