Book 2: Chapter 8 (4/9)
Book 2: Chapter 8 (4/9)
Lunthus once again easily killed Jaanes Earthen Hawk in just four swings using his steel blade. Its still worth a try. If I kept on just defending, the Purple Goblin will surely kill me before my mana pool reaches depletion. Jaane thought to herself as she activated the [Mana Infusion] technique and then casted [Earthen Hawk] spell. An Earthen Hawk five times as large compared to the Earthen Hawks she created before slowly rising from the ground. Jaane commanded it to attack Lunthus as she started running out of the forest as fast as she could.
Jaane? A voice from above calling out her name, Jaane looked up and was relieved to see him. It was Dorgan Lanik, Guild Master of the Angel Six Guild. Dorgan was using the [Angelic Avatar] spell to transform himself into a Two Wings Angel to help him fly. At Dorgans current level, he can transform into a Six Wings Angel but it would cost much more mana to activate and maintain. That would be unnecessary since Dorgan wanted to fly, not to fight in this form. That was why using the form of the Two Wings Angel is good enough.
Jaane asked in a happy tone, Guild Master, why are you here?
I was informed that you went to take care of a group having ten Red Goblins. You seem to be terrified. What happened?
Before Jaane could answer, Dorgan saw at least sixteen thousand goblins mixing with the Green Goblins, and Blue Goblins were chasing after her from above. Dorgan casted [Holy Aura] spell on Jaane to protect her then casted [Summon Angel Warrior] spell and a Six Wings Angel having the strength of a First Stage Saint Warrior appeared. Dorgan commanded the Six Wings Angel to attack the goblins charging toward Jaane while he landed on the ground in front of her inside the [Holy Aura] while deactivating his [Angelic Avatar] spell to get rid of the Two Wings Angel form.
Two Wings Angel is the weakest type of Angel Warrior. Their Strength is on par compared to a ninth-tier warrior while Four Wings Angel has the strength on par compared to a tenth-tier warrior. A level 30 Master-tire Light Mage can use [Summon Angel Warrior] spell to summon a Two Wings Angel to aid them in battle. However, the same level 30 Light Mage can also use [Summon Angel Warrior] to summon a Four Wings Angel but it would cost much more mana to activate and maintain. Not all Six Wings Angel were built equal. Some Six Wings Angel have the strength of Second Stage Saint Warrior while most of the Six Wings Angel have their strength on par with First Stage Saint Warrior. The mana consumption to keep the Angel Warrior alive in Toria Continents would cost more as well depending on how strong that Angel Warrior is.
Jaane, explain to me what happened here? Why are you looking frightened? Dorgan asked Jaane while having a smile on his face letting her know that she is safe now.
Guild Master, I have taken care of the ten Red Goblins. Although there is a Purple Goblin that possessed strength comparable to a late Third Stage Saint Warrior. I used [Mana Infusion] to create a stronger version of Earthen Hawk to keep him busy while Im fleeing from this forest. Jaane carefully explained the situation to Dorgan.
After hearing Jaanes mana was depleted due to [Mana Infusion] ability being activated, Dorgan casted [Mana Regeneration] spell on Jaane to help her slowly recover her mana pool for five minutes.
Stay here inside my [Holy Aura], no goblin should be strong enough to break through it. Even if any goblin can break through, the mana you have recovered through my [Mana Regeneration] should help you fight them back while Im gone. My Six Wings Angel Warrior will stay to protect you as well. Dorgan said.
Shouldnt we leave here to request for more guild members to help us take the Purple Goblin down? Jaane asked in a concerned tone.
We should, but that would take time. If this Purple Goblin escaped from here, more lives would be lost in the future. Dorgan said as he transformed himself into an Eight Wings Angel carrying a Fire Tipped Lance using [Angelic Avatar] spell.
Normally Dorgan can only transform into a Six Wings Angel, but he sacrificed more than sixty percent of his mana pool to help him transform into an Eight Wings Angel which possessed strength on par compared to a Third Stage Saint Warrior. Not all Eight Wings Angel Warriors are built the same. A regular Eight Wings Angel Warrior possessed strength on par with a Third Stage Saint Warrior. But there are stronger Eight Wings Angel Warrior that can even possess strength on par compared to a Fourth Stage Saint Warrior.
"Seems like luck is on my side today." Dorgan thought to himself after knowing he had successfully transformed into an Eight Wings Angel possessed strength on par with a Fourth Stage Saint Warrior. Dorgan then flew toward the direction that Jaane told him where the Purple Goblin, Lunthus the Great, was fighting with her Earthen Hawk at.
At the time Dorgan found Lunthus, he saw Lunthus had just finished killing the strong Earthen Hawk created by Jaane after using her [Mana Infusion] technique. Lunthus saw an Eight Wings Angel flying toward him in a hostile manner, he quickly jumped up very high and swung his steel blade toward the Angel. Dorgan used his Fire Tipped Lance to block Lunthuss steel blade then strike it toward him. Lunthus acknowledged air battle would be at his disadvantage as he couldnt fly so he kicked the lance away then swung his blade once at the angel, forcing him to avoid the attack before Lunthus sprinted down toward the ground.
Why are you trying to kill me, Angel? Lunthus asked.
Dorgan wouldnt want to waste any second because each second counts as the angel form continuously draining his mana pool. He needed to kill this Purple Goblin before his mana pool reaches depletion or both Jaane and himself wont make it out of this forest alive.
Dorgan refused to land on the ground as he kept flying and continuously strikes, swings, and slashes his Fire Tipped Lance at Lunthus. Lunthus didn't appear weaker compared to Dorgan either, that was why he could easily block all the attacks and returned several attacks of his own. Their physical fight went on for approximately fourteen minutes when Dorgan suddenly casted [Holy Smite] spell while striking his lance at Lunthus. Lunthus had strong Magical Resistance so a normal [Holy Smite] spell casted by a level 50 Light Mage wouldnt cause any effect toward him but Dorgan put much more mana into that [Holy Smite] and caused Dorgans feet to shake for one second. This one second turned the tide of battle for Lunthus from being a tie to defeat as Dorgan successfully struck his Fire Tipped Lance into Lunthuss throat.
Jaane was wrong, this Purple Goblins strength is comparable to an entry Fourth Stage Saint Warrior, not late Third Stage Saint Warrior. If I was an inexperienced level 50 Legend Light Mage, then the one dying today must be me. Dorgan thought to himself while chopping off Lunthuss head from his corpse.
