Chapter 319 Elementalist
"I will deal with the dungeon since I don't want to repair the road all the time," Aion said. "What else can I do to make sure that I won't look suspicious?"
"His Majesty has some cousins that are of appropriate age. If you marry one of them as your first wife, it should ease a lot of worries…" Lexus said and then saw Aion sigh.
Aion would rather not have any level of relativity with Vangel… it was weird since he didn't dislike anyone that much aside from his enemies that tried to take his life.
"What other options do you have…" Lexus rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "If you can build a road that long through the desert, can you make a bridge to another Island?"
"As long as it isn't that long… I have things to do, you know," Aion said after s long sigh.
"It is a bridge that needs only to be five kilometers long since we have a dungeon near the southern coast on an island that will help with the movements of soldiers, adventurers, and materials," Lexus explained. "If we give your name to it, it should quell the backslash quite a bit. Besides, it isn't like you need to make that road get closer to the fallen capital."
"I guess so," Aion nodded.
In the end, Lexus is the one who explains the whole thing to Vangel while he is playing a staring contest with Aion. He didn't try to hide his suspicions, after all.
"Do you truly believe that your grandfather has only that in mind?" Vangel asked.
"Not completely, he isn't exactly a chatterbox, so I don't know him well enough to tell if he is plotting something," Aion replied. "Still, he should know that getting on my bad side won't help him in any way and that I have better things to do than solve the problems that he might cause."
"What about the souls of your other relatives?" Vangel asked.
"Grandmother and uncle haven't tried to contact me yet… Do you know why, grandpa?" Aion asked by summoning the soul of his grandfather.
"Why did you have to do this… my son doesn't think that he has the right to contact anyone, and my wife has been grumpy since our deaths," Arc explained.
"You heard him…" Aion said and then stored the soul away.
"Hmm, the queen of the Millerians was quite cunning and had some knowledge of military tactics enough to even counsel the king," Vangel said. "She was quite the scheming… woman. You should be wary of her."
Aion looked at his father, and he nodded. Artemisia never talked much about her family, but her mother was the only one that Aion knew nothing about. He had never read any books about the royal family of that country. Still, it was probably impossible to find one without bias.
Regardless, Aion agreed to build a bridge for the Kingdom in exchange for the desert and the fallen capital to do whatever he wanted with it. Thanks to that, Arc began to fulfill his part of the bargain.
The mage class has leveled up.
The mage class has leveled up.
The Spearman class has leveled up.
The Spearman class has leveled up.
…
"Hmm? Is someone else giving me mana, grandpa?" Aion asked.
"My son is… he doesn't want to talk, though," Arc replied.
"What a troublesome family…" Aion said and then sighed.
In any case, Aion was thankful for the help, even more so since the mage class was about to level up, and he wanted one magic class specialized in elemental Magic. It should be possible for him to find something like Earth Sorcerer or something.
Once Aion reached the beach where he was supposed to build the bridge, he began to create and drop sole massive and sturdy earth blocks. He couldn't create iron or steel yet, but he couldn't imagine those blocks deteriorating in the next ten years. They were basically rocks, thanks to Aion's magic power.
Some people close to the port that was two hundred meters away made a commotion when they saw a weird creature flying nearby, and some guards came to check, but soon they left Aion alone when he showed them a scroll with the king's seal.
"This is quite tiresome, mentally speaking…" Aion thought while trying to meditate and create the blocks at the same time. "The death knights are still hunting, but I am using way more mana than they can recover for me."
In two hours, Aion had already covered half of the path with earth pillars that would work as the foundation of the bridge, but he was already bored. He was thankful that he could level up some classes with the mana of the Millerians. Still, he also wished that he could control that for a bit and actually get some mana.
Aion recalled the sword and armor that he got from Arlana, and he actually forgot about asking about that kind of material. He heard a lot of things that kept his mind busy, he equipped the armor, but he didn't feel any mana coming from him… it could only absorb attacks, it seems, and perhaps it could give him the mana.
In the end, Aion didn't find any method to help him with that and just kept going like usual. Until the mage class leveled up.
Congratulations! The class Mage has reached level one hundred, and you are able to obtain a new class. Do you wish to sacrifice the materials, experience, and energy obtained to unlock the new class? Y/N
