MY SUGAR MUMMY IS A BEAUTIFUL VAMPIRE

Chapter 281: Rose, the great teacher!

As Blake's primal instincts surged, a low, guttural growl reverberated from deep within his chest, vibrating against the delicate flesh of the lady's neck. Her laughter, initially light and playful, faltered slightly as she felt the subtle flick of his tongue tracing a tantalizing path along her skin.

Unbeknownst to her, danger lurked just beneath the surface, concealed behind the veneer of seduction.

In an instant, Blake's eyes ignited with an infernal blaze, the fiery hue of his gaze betraying the turmoil raging within. Tears of blood threatened to spill from the corners of his eyes.

With a swift and practiced motion, Blake seized both of her hands, pinning them firmly behind her back to prevent any attempt at escape. His other hand moved swiftly to cover her mouth, muffling any potential outcry that might pierce the thick veil of the night.

Though his feral instincts clamored for dominance, a sliver of consciousness remained, a tether to his humanity that whispered warnings against the impending descent into darkness. Did he want to stop? The answer echoed through the recesses of his mind, a desperate plea for restraint.

But in the throes of his primal hunger, could he stop himself now?

A hot rush of breath cascaded over her neck, sending tremors of anticipation coursing down her spine. Her body tensed, caught between fear and a strange, intoxicating allure.

And just as Blake's razor-sharp fangs hovered on the precipice of descent, poised to pierce the tender flesh and satiate his ravenous hunger, the door to the bathroom creaked open, shattering the fragile cocoon of intimacy.

With a swift and decisive motion, Gunther intervened, seizing Blake by the neck and wrenching him away from the cusp of darkness. The lady, disheveled and startled, scrambled to compose herself, her attempts at salvaging dignity amidst the chaos falling short.

A sly grin played across Gunther's weathered features as he waved a mocking farewell to the bewildered lady before turning his attention back to Blake. The red glow emanating from Blake's eyes did not escape his notice, and with a sigh of resignation, Gunther knew the party was over.

In a manner akin to an exasperated parent dealing with a wayward child, Gunther grabbed Blake's hand, hauling him unceremoniously out of the bathroom. As they made their way through the crowded club, Gunther's voice rang out in a stern reprimand.

"One minute, you're on the dance floor, the next you're about to commit murder in the bathroom," Gunther scolded, his tone heavy with disappointment. "I searched high and low for you, Blake. What were you thinking?"

Blake's response was defensive, his words tinged with a hint of frustration. "It wasn't my fault. She started it."

Gunther's incredulous expression spoke volumes. "Started what? Wanted to be killed?" he retorted, his patience wearing thin.

Blake shrugged awkwardly, acutely aware of Gunther's piercing gaze boring into him. Despite the urge to lash out in anger, he couldn't deny the truth in Gunther's words. His unchecked hunger threatened to consume him entirely, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake.

As they came to a stop by a nearby wall, Blake fell silent, his thoughts consumed by the what-ifs and the looming specter of his own primal desires. He knew, deep down, that Gunther's intervention had likely saved more than just one life that night.

With a quizzical expression, Gunther turned to Blake, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Can you climb?" he asked, not bothering to wait for a response as he effortlessly leaped upwards, landing gracefully on the roof of a nearby two-story building.

Blake stood dumbfounded, watching in awe as Gunther executed the maneuver with practiced ease. Could he do that too? The question lingered in his mind for only a moment before determination set in. Squatting down, he prepared himself and then leaped, feeling the rush of adrenaline as he soared through the air, landing beside Gunther on the rooftop.

Chuckling at his own landing, Blake shook his head in amazement. "That was...unexpected," he admitted, still processing the fact that he had just performed such a feat.

Gunther chuckled in response, a knowing smile playing at the corners of his lips. "From the looks of things, you didn't know you could do that, did you?"

Blake shrugged, a faint grin tugging at his lips. "There are a lot of things I'm not sure about yet," he replied, his tone laced with newfound confidence.

Taking a seat at the edge of the roof, Gunther patted the space beside him, gesturing for Blake to join him. "Well, there's no time like the present to find out," he said, his voice carrying a hint of anticipation.

As Blake settled onto the rooftop, his gaze wandered over the cityscape sprawled out beneath them. The twinkling lights of the city below seemed to stretch endlessly into the horizon, a mesmerizing tableau that captured his attention.

Beside him, Gunther exuded an air of calm and collectedness that belied his outward appearance. Low-key, he fit the description of a club bouncer more than the gentle giant he truly was. Despite his imposing stature and rugged demeanor, there was a sense of serenity about him that Blake found both intriguing and comforting.

Was this the result of centuries of existence, or was there something more to it?

Turning to Gunther, Blake regarded him with a newfound sense of admiration. "How do you do it?" he asked, his voice tinged with curiosity.

Gunther arched an eyebrow inquisitively. "Do what?" he replied, his tone casual.

Blake hesitated for a moment before pressing on. "How do you control your urges? Your...gentleness around humans," he explained, choosing his words carefully.

A soft chuckle escaped Gunther's lips as he shook his head. "Ah, that," he mused, a wry smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "It's a skill that comes with time and experience, my friend."

Blake furrowed his brow, still struggling to reconcile the image of the grizzled vampire before him with the gentle, almost paternal figure he had come to know. "Honestly, if Rose hadn't told me you were a vampire a year ago when we met, I would have never guessed," he admitted, his tone earnest.

Gunther chuckled softly, a glimmer of amusement dancing in his eyes. "That's because you never believed vampires existed," he teased, his tone light-hearted yet tinged with a hint of something more profound.

Blake chuckled softly before the laughter died down in his mouth. His mind was awash with swirling thoughts and uncertainties. He felt like a lost soul adrift in this new world of the extraordinary, grappling with the weight of his newfound existence.

Noticing Blake's silence, Gunther offered a reassuring pat on his shoulder. "Hey, don't think for a moment that any of us have it all figured out," he said, his tone gentle yet resolute. "We all have our struggles, our battles with our urges."

Blake shook his head, disbelief etched across his features. "But I've never seen any of you go savage, or even feed on blood," he protested, his voice tinged with skepticism.

Gunther chuckled softly, a knowing gleam in his eyes. "That's because things have changed over the years," he explained, his tone tinged with a hint of nostalgia. "Rose, she's...evolved. Started seeing humans as more than just food, and she's passed on those same ideals to us."

He continued, his voice carrying the weight of years of experience. "With time, we've learned to manage our hunger, to control it. Not entirely, mind you, but enough to live among humans without causing harm."

Blake's brow furrowed in confusion. "But if you don't drink blood regularly, how do you feed without...you know, causing loss of life?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.

Gunther's lips quirked into a knowing smile. "Welcome to the modern world, my friend," he quipped. "It's a lot easier than you think. We have a supplier who works at the blood bank. We get our fix discreetly, disguised in wine bottles to avoid suspicion."

Realization dawned on Blake, his eyes widening in astonishment. "So that's why Rose and Elena always drank wine," he mused aloud, a dawning comprehension settling over him. "I never would have guessed..."

Embarrassment colored his cheeks as he glanced sheepishly at Gunther. "I hate to ask, but...do you have any of those bottles left?" he ventured, his tone hesitant.

Gunther nodded with a knowing smirk. "As a matter of fact, we have plenty back at home," he replied, his eyes twinkling mischievously.

"Wait, what?!!!" Blake blurted.
